I am 5'8", weigh 161 lbs now and just want to lose 3 more and I am done..
You know what, you're right. I want to shed vanity pounds, and I believe I have a high body fat percentage - I am very weak. I can't afford a personal trainer. Do you know if body calipers work? Also, is there any other way (besides scales) that I can measure my progress? I want to get down to a size 4 - I'm currently a size 8/9. I'm not sure, if weighing myself is the right thing to do, because I've had a history of an eating disorder (recovered) - a size 4 is not too small for my build.
I appreciate any insight or tips that you or anyone else may give me.

Body calipers are a good tool to measure body fat percentage. You can also measure your progress by inches lost so it's wise to have a tape measure. It is possible to still weigh 145 and be a size 4 - the way to do it is by weight training. If you really want to lose weight then by all means go ahead - just make sure that you are not underweight as that is just as unhealthy as being overweight.
I am sure more experienced posters may be able to help you but I would suggest that you start weight training. It will help you to get the tone you are looking for as well as help you to keep off the weight in the long run as muscle burns calories even when you are not working out.
I became quite anemic after a 3 week cleanse. I had to get a blood transfusion. You might be iron deficient too - try eating some healthy beef and green beans and see if your energy level goes up.
It is really important to eat well. I did a lot of crazy diets and eating junk food for meals and this caused the fatigue etc. I am eating more iron rich foods now and am experimenting with B12 (the kind that absorbs under the tongue) and natural iron.
It's also important to strength train. I just started 6 weeks ago. You will be able to eat more and get the nutrition you need!
As far as not weighing, you can just do the pinch test. I do that, plus I have a skirt I wore at 150 that will fit close to the 145 mark.

Thank you for the tips!
Also, even though you're a bit taller than me, I have the same body goal (your profile pic) in mind! Do you have a blog on 3fatchicks? I'd love to follow you, if that's alright. I'm brand new, so I don't know how to access members' blogs.
Like the original poster, I fully admit I'm trying to shed vanity pounds at the moment. But part of the reason is my usual weight is 125-130 pounds, so I can't help but feel bigger at the moment (my pretty clothes don't fit either). I want to be able to wear my cute jeans again, and be able to go shopping without accidentally forgetting and taking clothes that are too small into the changing rooms. Also, I am definitely not toned, so I look bigger than my weight suggests. I too need to start weight training - which is my goal for this week. I'm trying to lose the weight slowly but properly, so I can sustain the loss and not put it on again. Sigh. Its taking a while, but not too much more to go now...

No Blog at all, I am a new member and found this thread. Just looking to connect to others in the same boat!

I'm 5 ft. 8.5, and my original goal was 160. I'm 135-140 now and happy with that. I wear a size 2 in Old Navy "sweetheart" cut jeans, and a 4 to 6 in other styles. Started at 220 or 230, didn't really weigh at that point.
