Jessiecat, there is definitely hope. My boyfriend (finacee! Yipeee!!!!) was the "I will NEVER get married" guy. I had accepted this, because he is just so perfect for me. We have a house, 2 dogs, 2 cats, etc. A year ago he started hinting around, and the hints kept on coming. This last Friday night he took me out to dinner at our favorite restaurant, which is in a historic bank building and has a cool vault you can reserve that is really romantic. We ate our dinner, and everything was turning out wrong, but in a really funny way. There were two drunk old men fighting about football and politics outside the vault for our entertainment. When we were just about to leave, he got on one knee and said "This has been an imperfect night, and I am an imperfect guy, but it would be perfect if you would marry me." My head swam around and I just started laughing. Of course I said yes, and we laughed and laughed. The ring is gorgeous. It is a full carat diamond on a white gold band. I can't stop looking at it. We spent the weekend together ice skating, eating at our favorite restaurants, and enjoying a lot of attention from our families and friends. I could get used to this!!
PLus, talk about motivation---I went to gym straight away after work today and ate 99% healthy (I had a little almond joy fun-size from the Halloween candy at work). We are going to get married very soon in private, and then have a reception later.
oh my God, that's soooo cute!!!! Thanks for sharing the details!
I know what you mean about not being able to stop looking at the ring. Before I got mine in May, I had never thought I was a jewelery - and especially not a diamond - kinda girl. Well it's 6 months later and I am still staring at my hand constantly!!!! lol.
