Thanks, indiblue!

cat, that's the spirit! The fact that your measurements are down is great though! Fitting in to smaller clothing is always a boost, although I know seeing that number drop on the scale would be extra nice.......and I know and you know it will, eventually, hopefully VERY soon.

Today was a good weigh in for me, I'm so close to my goal now! 5.4 lbs! I WEIGHED IN AT 130.4 TODAY! I'm glad to be close to my goal, however in my head I already know that won't be my ultimate goal, I truly don't see myself being happy and comfortable in my own skin with just another 5.4 lbs gone- I think I'll be aiming for more along the lines of 117. Do any of you ladies that are real close to goal think you will adjust that goal to a lower number?

Hi everyone,

I hope it's okay that I jump in here. This is my first post. I haven't even done my profile yet.

When I saw the title I had to check out this thread. I let myself gain - again! I watch the scale and see it climbing and here I am at 133 when I should be 123. I was so happy being in the low 120s not very long ago. I have to hold myself accountable. I have a dr. appointment in May and I refuse to go in there 8 or 10 pounds heavier.

I hurt my back recently and haven't been exercising but I'm much better now. I'm trying a workout this afternoon.

Thanks for listening.
Best wishes to you all.

sacha congratulations! I was just about to come here to complain about stalling actually (which I will do after I congratulate you). Anyway that's huge that you are such a great weight after pregnancy. Many kudos to you!

---

Sight guys, I have to complain again. Yesterday I allegedly at 1500 calories (although since I'm living in India and eating a lot of homemade Indian food, I really don't trust the online calorie counter's calculations for ethnic food, so who knows if that is right??), which is higher than where I've previously been (around 1250-1400 for the past couple weeks). I did a pretty intensive 45 minute yoga class in the morning and was hungry all day. I made good choices about food- eating tuna and spinach when I was hungry, homemade iced coffee with skim milk and 1 tsp sugar when I got a sweet craving, etc. The only place I faltered was for dinner. We went to a party and all they had was fried Indian food. I had probably 6 pieces of spinach pakora (fried spinach) and 1.5 glasses of red wine.

And today I'm up to 131.2, from 130.6 yesterday! This is absolutely ridiculous. I'm not going to starve myself- if I'm hungry I'm going to eat protein and other nutritious foods. Hunger is a signal I'm not eating enough right? If I respond sensibily to my body's request to feed it, I shouldn't gain weight.

This doesn't make sense to me. Any ideas?

Good job, Sacha! I remember your pics, you're the squat girl!

indiblue: There is a large population of Indian folk where I'm originally from and Indian takeout joints all over the city, so I used to eat it fairly often and I love it all so I'm completely envious that you are actually in India with all those delicious foods! Although it was just six bites of pakora, it's still fried and the sodium content could be higher than you may imagine, just a guess.
Certain foods (like complex carbs) will keep you full longer, I know that tuna and and spinach doesn't keep me full for long at all. I hope tomorrow is a better weigh in for you!

I thought about the sodium as being an issue, so I drank 1 L of water throughout the evening and when I got home. And regarding the calories, yes I think you're right that they are calorie-dense, which is why it was the only thing I had for dinner. According to my calorie counter they were 400 calories, which brought me to a total of 1500 for yesterday. With 45 minutes of exercise in the AM and 4 L of water throughout the day, I didn't expect to gain anything.

They may have been higher in calorie than I thought though, which is why I am really skeptical that calorie counters know how to count homemade Indian food accurately. Not sure what to do to prevent this in the future :-/

Yum...Indian food. I want curry now!
132.2 AGAIN today. What a surprise. I honestly don't know what to do. I've tried eating more, eating less, exercising more, exercising less, switching up my workout, drinking more water, drinking less water. Nothing is working. Its driving me a little bit mental. Does anyone have any ideas? You are all doing so well! I want to get to the 120s with you guys! xx

still haven't gotten to a scale, but plan to hit the gym on Monday. However, I FEEL fatter. It must be from the alcohol on Wednesday and Thursday. My stomach is literally protruding like a pregnant woman and my ankles are swollen like one as well. Also it's around TOM.... I feel really uncomfortable in my own skin.

Luckily I had a good food day today.

cat, I'm not sure what to tell ya at this point other than just keep at it, don't give up and surely you will see a loss soon- but I hate when people give me empty advice like that. :P It's like a guy dumping you and someone saying "plenty more fish in the sea!". Do you feel like you're getting stronger and healthier? There's several of us in here who feel your frustration, I guess this is to be expected in a 130's thread and I suspect it only gets more difficult from here throughout the 120's.

I was hoping to see 129 this morning, but I knew right before I weighed that it was going to be up, I just felt a bit bloated and what do you know.....I was right! Back up to 131.6. As of tomorrow I'm not weighing for a week, I mean it this time.

Maybe if we close our eyes and wish really REALLY hard, we will be down to 129.* tomorrow bananapancakes!! Yes, that's what I'm going to do. I feel it's my last hope.

Haha, there will be no 129 for me....not tomorrow, I know that much for sure. Tonight is my cheat, I didn't go the whole way and have a cheat meal and a dessert like I used to when I was higher, now I just have a dessert and I just got done eating a slice of cheesecake and then a chocolate chip cookie and I enjoyed every bite. In reality I should just have had the slice of cheesecake, but whatever, I'm not going to beat myself up about the cookie. I'm not going to weigh until next Friday morning and this week I'm going to go at it, guns blazing and see what happens. I think that maybe I will work even harder when I don't know my current weight because I'll be so determined to see a low number by the end of the week, does that make sense? I will be checking in here each day to cheer you guys on though! I did feel thinner today, I put on a pair of smaller jeans that used to be a tad tight on me and today they were actually a wee bit slack and when I looked in the mirror I was actually feeling pretty good.

Great banana! Good for you for not stressing about the cookie. You're right, in the grand scheme of things it doesn't mean that much. I'm glad you are not weighing yourself compulsively like I am right now because it allows you to chill out and focus on the larger process. I'm working on moving towards that approach.

I had a bit of a big dinner last night so I didn't expect much on the scales. Still at 130.8. Hoping to kick it into high gear this week and get back into the 120s!
