Default Boyfriend on track!!!

I am so surprised/happy/excited/slightly nervous that my boyfriend has FINALLY come around to healthy eating and exercise. This is a dude who would play video games in his underwear while I went out for my daily jog and who guzzled Mountain Dew and ate junk food late in the night, every night. Then we went on a trip to visit old friends in Arizona and when we came back, he decided he'd start running with me because he felt "fat". RUNNING?!?! I was shocked, in a good way! He hasn't run in 15 years, and now he wants to start doing it 3x a week. And he's cooked healthy meals for us 2 nights in a row, so far.

And of COURSE, in a very timely manner, TOM arrives for me and the past couple days I have been irritable, grumpy and starving for carbs. Yesterday I sat on the couch in my jammies as I watched him go jogging! Talk about role reversal!

I have to step up and fill my role as his exercising/health buddy!!! I will not let TOM or job issues or anything else bring me down, especially now that our whole household has gone healthy, something I've wanted forever!

Sorry this was more of a reaffirmation on my part than a real thread... But any comments appreciated... I WILL DO THIS! no, WE will do this!!!!

Yay! I know it helps to have everyone in the household working for the same goals... DH was at a plateau for a while and got frustrated and "anti-diet and exercise".... He was always wanting wings and bad foods and such, so it was difficult for me to not get hijacked into his badness, he wasn't exercising, was grumpy and irritable a lot. He finally broke through last week and he has been in a much better place, so it has made me feel less guilty for my success!

You guys can do it!

Wow! I bet you feel elated. That feels great when you can make that kind of a difference in someone else's life or that you matter enough for them to take a step back and say, whoa, maybe she is onto something. You'll be the healthiest couple on the block!

Yeah! We are definitely doing better together because it means no more Ben & Jerrys ice cream in the freezer, no more greasy take-out food, and more active weekends! Last Sunday, we took the dog and went for a walk/jog/run for 3 hours in the park. It was so much fun and we felt great afterwards.

But ladies, you know what's gonna happen... his pounds are gonna melt off and mine are going to mosey on along like usual.. hehe oh well.

Thanks for the kind words!!

I agree that he'll lose faster but it's all about a lifestyle and you'll both be healthier in the long run
