Unhappy One lb down and 2 lbs up

I just blew the last week of dieting on the weekend, even with the "weekend warriors" thread.

I was really focussed and determined on Friday when I saw I was within reach of 132. This morning the scale registered 135.

I guess it's because I really don't have any positive motivation/support other than 3FC. When I feel depressed and alone DH doesn't help by reminding me of my diet - he goes and gets binge food and alcohol.

He is actually trying to help because he thinks these things make him feel better so they will help me too. And everyone else I know says I'm skinny enough.

My trainer is coming tomorrow night and, even though I will have got my 3 strength/3 stretch workouts done, I'm going to feel like a blimp.

And i just noticed I've been a member here for a year. That can be a good or a bad thing depending on how you look at it. I feel like a real loser right now and not in a good way.

Dagmar that really sucks. You need a new plan, one that makes it so you don't have to feel so crappy after the weekend.

I'm assuming that you've been married to dh for a while now, so you're pretty sure he's not going to change right? Is there any way you can be extra good during the week so that you can indulge at least one day over the weekend with him? Maybe even schedule it. Like Sat night let's sample beer w/some nachos and have a blast but the rest of the weekend I'm going to need to behave. Would he be more helpful with something like that?

My dh goes in spurts with the health wagon for himself but when he's not on the wagon, I know he thinks I'm a big dud b/c I don't want to go out to eat or out drinking or binge eat late night with him. I try to factor "dh calories" into my week so that he doesn't get too grumpy.

Aw Dagmar, I feel so badly for you. As it is it's difficult to stay focused and then to feel like there's no support coming from home...

I've been lax and now am down with a cold. Still, I have made my vat of soup for the week and I'm good to go...sipping soup and looking for support on 3FC!

At my convention last week, I felt that I was making wise food choices, but alas my scale didn't think the same. Tomorrow I have my varicose vein surgery. I hope to reap some reward from the required 60 minutes of walking each day. Food choices are good--gotta step away from that bottle, though!!!

Thumbs up Brilliant batmomm!

Factoring in "DH calories" is a great idea! I'll do that starting this weekend.

Allison - good luck with your surgery! I am sure you'll do great and be sooo glad once it's done.

Lekhika - so sorry to hear you are sick, especially right after your vacation (not that there is ever a good time). It sounds like you are taking good care of yourself with the soup.

Bat - that is a good idea about the DH calories. It's funny how easy it is to get derailed by someone we live with.

I've had a fairly good day ... I need to go log my calories now.

Here's to another good day tomorrow... and the next... and the next!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Mine was lots of fun, but not quite on plan. I went rock climbing at Red River Gorge with some friends. I decided not to worry about counting calories, but just try to eat healthy and smart. I somewhat succeeded; I ate mostly healthy things with only a few slip-ups.

My real downfall was just eating too much of these healthy things. I really need to listen to my body while I'm eating to know that it's time to stop eating, even though I'm not *full* (just not hungry anymore). At least I know what I need to work on now!

Dagmar - At least your DH is trying to help you feel better, just not quite in the right way. I think factoring in DH calories on the weekend is a good idea too!

alinnell - I think sometimes I just need to force myself to count calories, even when I think I'm eating the right amount. I guess knowing almost exactly how much to eat is a skill that takes some practice. We will get it with time!

Lekhika - Feel better soon!!

i had to laugh at that because it's my downfall as well... well that and residents always trying to give me candy and cookies at work.

shadesofgrey rock climbing seems like it would be so much fun - and i'm sure a great workout!

feel better soon lekhika!

batmomm i am not married but i need to factor in drinks with the bf and my girls every week. we always go out once or twice and i either break down and overindulge or super restrict and get pressured to join in all night.

hmmm... anyway, LONG night at work (i was on all weekend and then worked 9 hours tonight) so i need to get some rest. i really do notice a difference in my eating when i don't get enough sleep. tomorrow i'm taking it easy on breakfast and lunch and getting a good workout in because my bf is making me dinner for my birthday and he does not generally care much for healthy options. not to mention the wine.

Exclamation Celebrate!

Iris

Enjoy your birthday! Life is about more than dieting and your bf is making you dinner? Does he have an older brother?

You can get back OP tomorrow.

Exclamation scale is controlling me

I know the numbers are important but, once you get to those last few lbs, the scale can make you .

I was depressed and dismayed by the reading of 135 after my weekend blowout. This morning I'm back at 132.6.

I think the beer, which I so seldom drink, really bloated me up for a couple of days.

I can't keep changing the ticker or weighing myself every day - too stressful. I will work on my "DH calories" this week so that I have a bit of leeway on the weekend and, if I binge, I will take Tuesday's weight as the real deal.

So it's better to just stay OP as this is all getting waaay too complicated
