Thanks for the well wishes everyone. I feel much better today. It seems as if the first one or two days of my bouts are the worst! I worked out last night and god it felt so good!

Shadesofgrey Rock climbing sounds awesome. IT's up there on my list of things to try out. That avatar is inspiring!

iriswhispersI don't drink anymore and now that I think back on it, anytime my weight ballooned it was when I was doing hardcore partying on teh weekends. It's amazing how many calories are in those pesky drinks.

DagmarI'm glad the scale was nice to you!

My next weigh in will be at the end of May. I will do good this month! I will be good!

2 hours and counting...

I put my food (and wine) into fitday for yesterday and came in at 1465 for the day. While I shoot for 1200-1400 per day, I prefer it to be closer to 1200 calories.

DH and I did our power walk last night, and I'll have to do two of those today. I didn't get up for my morning run (Chico looked bewildered this morning) but I'm starting to dread getting up at 4:30--especially now that it's getting warmer. We'll see what happens, but I doubt I'll run for a couple of weeks. I just can't see how I can get up at 4:30, put on my compression stocking, run, take off the stocking, shower, and put the stocking back on. It seems like so much work!

Thumbs up Just got "beaten up" . . .

. . . and did it ever feel good . One of those training sessions where my body jsut didn't wanna but did it anyway. Everything feels all quivery and I know I'm gonna be sore tomorrow but so what!

I feel like I really pushed through my fatigue and accomplished something with my body . No urge whatsoever to overeat becuase I'm too tired to do anything else. I also got an energy surge after the session was over.

Now I can relax, turn off the phone and just enjoy the rest of the evening.

Wow.... lots going on. Bat doing a great 5 m run (awesome), Allison eating well and surviving her vein procedure, Lekhika is feeling better, and Iris has a birthday - Happy Birthday, girl!

I had a fairly good food day, I think, but I still need to enter calories. DH and I did a brisk one hour walk, which was great - it's hard for me to get him to go. My main downfall today is obviously not getting to bed at a decent time. I get up at 6:15, so I need to go earlier... it's hard for me.

Ok, have a good one tomorrow, ladies!

Today went really well. 35 minutes on the elliptical and 1305 calories eaten. I also biked to work and back, so that took about 20 minutes. It was kinda chilly outside though; I hope it warms up soon!

walking2lose - I have trouble getting to bed early too! I feel so much better when I get my 8 hours of sleep though, so I try my best.

Dagmar That's an awesome feeling! Have a nice relaxing evening!

alinnell - Eep, 4:30 is really early! I used to have to do that with water polo morning practice and it was awful. Good luck!

Lekhika - Rock climbing is really awesome! I work at an indoor rock climbing wall, so I'm around it all the time. It's a really great way to get some non-traditional strength training in - you really work your forearm and back muscles! I love the avatar too, I was on a really hard route that I finally got up, so I'm quite proud of it!

Angry Men can be extremely annoying

So my dad has been harassing me by telephone for the last two days. After the workout last night I thought I could relax but that blinking light on the phone kept annoying me.

So I ate - SIGH.

He just now called and started yelling at me. I hung up on him - never done that before and it felt really good!

I'm getting to the point with both my DH and my idiot father that I just want to put the cats in their carriers and drive on down the highway.

It's stressful enough dealing with all of life without having your family at you all the time. Thank goodness I have 3FC and can blow off some steam here.

Back OP today. I will not give up. I'm too strong for that.

Have a great day all! I'm planning to do the same!

It's amazing to me somehow how resilient our bodies and minds are. That we find the strength and courage to carry on from so much adversity.

Did my cardio yesterday. I feel really good about it and am thinking that my goal of 105 is too unrealistic for my body and may just call it a day at 108 (my original goal weight). What's the difference some may say...but it's HUGE for me....Heck, I don't know if I'll even ever see 110....something to strive for.

It's funny Dagmar...I love that quivery feeling after a good weights work out too.... The soreness the next day...I can do without.

Today is more cardio and legs. *off* to dress and change the toddler before we're off to pick up my daughter from daycare.

Have a great day ladies.

Exclamation New day, new month, new start

I have been bingeing for the last two nights and also on the weekend. I guess the training was going so well that I had to do something to derail it. I am so at myself sometimes.

But most of the stress I've been eating to deal with has been coming from my DH and my dad . DH has finished his exam and his taxes so he shouldn't have much more to whine about. And I'm blocking my dad from calling me - I don't need abuse and threats left on my machine.

So I'm off to do the new killer workout and I have thrown the rest of the binge food into the green bin.

My goals, for this month, are to remain binge free and to get the 3 strength workouts a week done.

Those are good goals Dagmar. I find that stress is probably the most common culprit to an exercise/eating plan that's derailed...that and complacency. I was quite complacent as far as the exercise (cardio) went pretty much the entire month of April and it's time to buckle down and get serious again.

I truly think that I started resenting the exercise because I was looking at the input ( the grueling workouts ) and seeing that the scale was JUST not a reflection of that and that pretty much derailed me.

My goal for the month of May is to take it easy on my scale expectations and drill it into my head that now, I'm exercising to keep off those hard lost pounds AND to keep my body healthy and tuned. If I lose weight because of that then that's the bonus...that is not the goal!!

good move on blocking the phone calls Dagmar. I don't understand WTH makes people think others will just sit there and take abuse over the phone. Sounds like you've got a good plan. Hang in there and I'm sure we can talk you through it. Sidenote-my partner and I just got two new petsitting calls!!

Yesterday dh and I hit a chinese buffet for lunch but despite the nature of a buffet (oink, oink), I didn't do terrible. I had a lot of veggies and sushi. Awesome to find an all you can eat place with sushi, mmmmmm. So while probably way too much oil, I'm ok. Finished off the day w/a slimfast coffee shake for dinner.

Today I think I'll take off from the gym but will take my kids and dog out for a nice long walk so that I can flyer my neighborhood.

hey gals! is this site loading really slow for any of you? i thought something was wrong with my computer but it's only this site that's sluggish... just wondering.

my birthday celebration kind of de-railed me for two days, but i'm back today. time to start kickin!

dagmar, men can be miserable - unplug the phone and throw away the junk food and try to relax for a day.

lekhika, i like the concept of not focusing on the scale and of weightloss as the bonus and not the goal. i wish i could wrap my mind around that idea right now.

allison, i honestly can't imagine getting up that early to run and having to put on and take off the stocking thing a couple of times. mornings i completely lack motivation. do you think you'll be able to fit in a workout in the evenings?

anyway, like dagmar says, new month - here's a new start. i can't believe it's May already. first of all i need to look FABULOUS may 17 and 18 because i'll be with my bf's family and his mother is a little skeptical about me because i'm not jewish. but then i have just under one month to get bathing suit ready. my bf and i are going to tucson (yes, the desert, but our B&B has a gorgeous pool!) and i want to wear my bikini!!

Well, as it turns out, the stocking isn't that hard to get on and off. Just a little more difficult than nylons (which I abhor, by the way). But my leg is quite sore and tender and tight, so I'm sticking to walking for a few weeks. It's kind of nice to get that extra half hour of sleep! Well, perhaps not sleep--but lounging. I found that I woke up naturally at 4:30 this morning, but I just snuggled in the covers!
