  • I know that you are right (Mudpie)...It can be very hard to figure out what the problem is though. I do have a self help book (which I hide from my boyfriend) because it is an embarrassing problem to have. At any rate, I did buy this book The Beck Diet Solution, which is great. It deals with all the cognitive reasons people eat and how to stay on a diet. They also have a workbook. I know it sounds weird but I am going to give it a try.
I am so happy to be a part of this forum. I have never done anything like this before so please excuse me if my posts are not as creative as everyone elses. I hope we can all help each other out. You all seem to be doing great and it is a great feeling to try to do things together rather than by yourself.
  • Beck book's good
I have the same book! I really found the exercises useful at first. After a while they became a little overwhelming as far as the amount of time needed to complete all of them. I am still using some of them to remind myself of why I'm thinking of food when I'm not hungry.

Hope you find it useful too! And don't be embarrased to be looking for a solution to your problem. Your boyfriend should be sympathetic rather than scornful. Mine doesn't necessarily want to hear all of the information in the book but he admires that I'm losing weight. Tell your guy to get with the program!
