Proud hourglass. Even at my highest weight I always had a nice siluhette... or how ever you spell that... lol... I really like my body, I find it really easy to lose weight... The bad part is I have a hard time building muscle... So I'm just soft all around. I want a tight butt, lean legs and nice sculpted arms!! My belly is fine, though, I have no complaints bout her.
|
I would be an apple I guess. Whats the point of this anyway? Its not like you can do spot fat burning to lose weight in just that one area
|
I am definitely a pear. I have always had a big butt and thighs. I hate it, but then again it hides my fat well. I have always surprised people when I tell them how much I weigh. However, my mom is a definite apple... she has teenie tiny thighs and no butt, but a decent belly. It's funny how we are mother and daughter, but we look completely opposite.

I think I'm an
hourglass covered with a generous helping of fruit salad & an icecream cone!!!
|
I definitely have the big thighs and hips, but as more than one boyfriend has pointed out to me, "but your shoulders are wide, too." I guess that equals hourglass ;)
|
Like a lot of people (it seems) i am an hour glass with a lower belly pooch. I can't figure out what that lower belly, is, but I hate it!
|
I gain in the butt and stomach, with a bit in the thighs - so a pearple? :)

the menopot
Quote:
For those of us at a certain point in life the belly is the menopot (didn't think that term up but wish I had). I know someone who is far along in menopause and skinny as a rail but she has the menopot. Just won't go away. I think mine is kinda cute now. What I don't like are the wrinkles that are starting to appear when I tense my abs - yuck! Dagmar |
I am a pear, but very small boned and when I was at my heaviest I was thick--watermelon, lost my waist. I gain weight in my face first. My favorite feature is my bust--I have nice girls that I seem to have gotten with the excess weight but they haven't shrunken since I lost 40 lbs. Except for my narrow shoulders, I'd be an hourglass thanks to the girls.
|
i guess i'm more of an apple than anything. i gain mostly in my stomach and face. when i lose weight it's mostly noticable in my face..my little double chin goes away. haha.
|
I start looking like a pear when I gain weight, because my top half never gets very big at all, but the weight goes to my hips like nothing else. 10 pounds less from now, I'll be an hourglass. Right now I'm somewhere between the two, since my weight is siphoning out of my hips (it does that first when I lose weight).

Im a definite apple shape. I look like a swallowed a barrel!! I do gain all over but its most prominent around the middle.
One day I plan to have a waist... |
When I was at my heaviest I looked like a mushroom now at goal I am pear shaped.
|
I'm a pear... Tiny boobies. I love my shoulders, arms and stomach... my booty and upper thighs are where I hold my weight.
Measurements... 34, 26, 36 ish.... |
Okay.....have any of you heard the song Baby Got Back.
Well that is my theme song. I have a big butt. Junk in the trunk. Thick legs. Small stomache. Arms are a little thick. I am just thick. The one thing I love about my body or my self is my butt. My husband loves it.:D |
I'm store fat everywhere except my boobs. Figures, right?

This is exactly how I feel about my body! It's kind of a love/hate relationship. :dizzy: I love my womanly body...on a good day I feel like a bombshell! :D On a bad day, my thick thighs drive me crazy. I look at pics from my early 20's and realize I was super skinny but never knew it due to my generous butt and thighs! |
I am a pear without a doubt!!
I like my body because I have a nice butt- but I don't like being a pear- because I have no boobs- so I look pretty unproportionate. |
I'm a pear except I have boobs and fairly broad shoulders.
So I'm an hourglass except I have thick thighs. (38-29-42) Overall, I love my body shape, though finding pants that are big enough in the ***, don't gape in the waist, AND don't make my legs look stumpy is a bit of a pain. Also, I love all the empire waists and swing coats and stuff that is in style right now but they obscure my waist (my one actually slender part) and make me look a lot heavier. I'm hoping that in another 5-10 lbs that will be less of an issue. |
interesting thread. I am not only short but very short waisted. I def don't have any curves or boobs, not even really a big butt. I think if I keep getting smaller, I'll probably look very boyish but I'll take that over chunky. :D
|
I am a perfect MacIntosh apple... round...
short torso, short legs, big belly, absolutely no butt Yikes... I hate my body right now......... |
I guess I am an "apple" shape (hopefully a soon-to-be hourglass if I can stay on track!) I don't have a big butt/hips, but I am a C cup so my chest is a tiny bit big on my small frame. My main trouble area is my stomach, but my thighs come in at a close 2nd.
|
I am most definitely a pear. My belly "menopot" stays no matter how much weight I lose. My doctor says a tummy tuck is the only solution after three kids. My thighs are still jiggly. I like the fact that I can feel my hip bones now. I have a bigger butt in comparison to my waist. I can't get jeans that fit well in the waist (too big) and fit me in the butt also. My boobs keep getting smaller and smaller (love Victoria Secret push-up bras). I think they measure 33" now. If I could just take it off my butt and thighs and put it in my chest!
|
I don't know what to call my shape. Maybe a pretzel stick with a plum attached mid-way. LOL! I have long skinny legs and arms, a wittle belly pooch... due to my back to back kiddos and c/s's. It is so hard trying to find clothes that don't just hang... but fit and don't suction to the belly or ride up. My hip spread and my thighs got bigger since having children, so I am still trying to absorb my new body shape that I am not all to keen on.
I do however like my long arms and legs... makes running after the kiddos easier. Ah, and to wrap my arms around both of them and snuggle them up. |
I am ABSOLUTELY in the same boat. I love the empire waist as well, but they hide the only slim part on me, and balloon out at my big 'baby bearing hips'. So that on top of my 34 D/DDs is a huge downer. (So really, I have no idea whether I'm an hourglass or a pear. I'm guessing I'm a bit of both - and I'm okay with that.)
It's also very, very, very hard finding any jeans that fit over my thighs without making me look like I've lost six inches off my legs. I do love my curves though. When I'm finally able to find clothing that fits proportionately, and when I lose enough weight to make it easier to find - I just know I'll love how feminine my curves are, and I'll stop hiding them under awkwardly fitting clothing and guilt. i have a perfect hourglass going on right now and it's awesome. (39-31-39)
i hope to lose more all over, though. this will be difficult to do without messing up my proportionality. |
I'm an hourglass who no longer has a discernable waist... :( But that's why I'm here!
-Jaclyn |
I think i'm a somewhat between pear shape and hourglass(what a nice name lol).
(my ratio waist/hip is 0.79 =.=') I have big hip, and upper thighs. But the rest is ok. When i gain weight, first i'll gain in my stomach (ugh) - specially at lower stomach. And then around my hip. But when i lose weight, i'll lose @ the stomach 1st and then the hip. So .... idk .... :D it's weird. =.=' They gain and lose exactly as the order when they gain, though idk if i should happy :p |
i just measured myself last night and apparently i've lost an inch from all over! so now my measurements are 38-30-38.
|
I think I'm an apple - slim arms and long slimmish legs, but a big belly, no doubt from all the beer I drink :0/ however I do have a big bottom, but can;t say I mind it.
If I imagine what I would like to look like when I have lost the weight I need to, I am very similar to now but with no belly. (I know this will be hard to do.) |
I'm a pearpple. Bottom-heavy for the most part, with a belly that has always been there. Someone was once kind enough to point out that I have "big legs," which is absolutely true.
I like... my arms. They keep their definition very well. I don't like... my ginormous calves and ankles. |
back 130 I was hands down an hourglass... 24 pounds later my lovely hour glass has slowly started to become a pair shape, hopefully things will even back out with weight loss.
-I love that I have curves, I feel like they make me look both maternal and alluring - I strongly dislike that I always feel my hips and thighs are larger than they should be, even at 130 I was overly self conscious of my thighs |
I think I am a pear ... since I've gained weight I always tell my husband I feel like a duck ... but I do also gain and loose it in my face too ... and even my arms this second time around .. but I'm still overall a pear !
|
I think I'm somewhere between a pear and an hourglass? My measurements are 36-28-39. I actually quite like my rear end, it's just my thighs that are and always have been the big problem area. Can't wait for the day that I can walk without my inner thighs rubbing together!
|
After losing the last 15 lbs which came from my boobs and belly, I'm less apple than I was before.
|
ergh...
Hourglass.
When I gain weight I always gain it in my face, hips/thighs and my arms/chest. I hate having fat arms and legs!!! >.< The only thing I like is that I have an itty bitty teeny tiny waist. Even at my heaviest my stomach was still flat and 30" (huge to me who is used to having a nip closer to 24-26) around. I don't even get back fat. |
Pear shape (plus those pesky "wings")
All of my weight is in my thighs and love handles. I'm flat chested and don't carry much in my stomach either. My thighs are in huge disproportion to the rest of my body. I also gain around my upper arms aka the "wings". Its all hereditary, in 10 years I expect to gain more in my stomach and none in my thighs as all the women in my family do. |
i would say i'm a pear, no boobs, relatively small waist etc, but i have broad-ish shoulders and my hips are big, but not out of proportion. My big problem is my thighs. They are wider than my hips and its impossible to find trousers that fit! If they fit my massive thighs then they are gaping at the waist. I have had to invest heavily in belts :)
As for what i like (that one is tougher)... My legs are nicely shaped untill just above the knee so mid length skirths suit me, and i have a flat stomach. I suppose i like a lot of things about my body, id just like them all to be smaller (which is why im here i guess!) |
