Question OP vs OP

If OP is "on plan" then how do we short form "off plan"?

I went to a BBQ party last night and could not stay OP (on plan). Everyone brought something along and the only thing brought for appetizers/salads that didn't have oil or full fat dairy was my watermelon (a creation that my DH worked on for over 2 hours - he can be a good guy when called upon). People would have been offended if I didn't try their stuff.

I just took small helpings of things and got away with having only 2 samosas (I had to leave the room for a bit to stop myself they were sooo good ). The BBQ part was much better - souvlaki, pitas, and tsatziki. Ate the souvlaki and pita plain.

Dessert was served and I had some. It was great and I enjoyed it! Sometimes it's ok to go "off plan". I knew I could compensate today and I am doing so. No guilt or remorse necessary. Just get up the next day and begin the diet anew (as long as I don't do that every day )

Wink BBQ Blues too

I was at a BBQ too yesterday. Let's see, I ate tortilla chips and cream cheese salsa dip, had 2 gin/lemonade drinks, had a hamburger bun and cheese which is off plan for me, PASSED UP DESSERT , and ate some smart food popcorn when I got home.

But hey, today is a new day!

In fact, today is one of the two per month ALL FRUIT DAYS for me. Wish me luck!

alinnell Yeah, I already had a stop watch. It's amazing how quickly 60 seconds go by!

In the BBQ confessional

Grilled portabellos
Shrimp
Cod
potato salad
wine
dessert
...had it all and was rather too full last night - even though I told myself to be restrained!
Maybe I was too hungry already when I arrived - that is my biggest enemy - hunger, I tend to over do it.

How about ALC (Ate Like Crap)?

I did very well yesterday (IMO). I fixed a really good sandwich from Cooking Light for our dinner. It was supposed to be eaten cold, but it sounded like it would be better hot and it was quite good. I had fruit for breakfast and a burner for lunch and then the salad with carrots, celery and peapods for dinner. All is good.

Carolyn~there may be hope for me yet! I just googled c25k and found some guy who made up 9 different podcasts for the c25k. Each one has this techno music in the background, but over the music he tells you when to start/stop the running portion and he also reminds you to keep up the pace, etc. I downloaded all of them to my iTunes. I'll bring my ipod home from work tomorrow and upload the first week. Then all it takes is for me to get out the door and start!

Thumbs up Cool!

alinnell Sounds great! I don't have an ipod, so it's just me, the stopwatch and my own encouragement.

I have had an emotional afternoon - angry, sad, confused - which found me looking to things on the ALC plan, but I was acutely aware that that plan did nothing to alleviate my emotional crisis. So, it is 5:40 PM and I am going to drink lots of water, stick with fruit, have a bubble bath, watch a movie, sleep soundly and wake up to a brand new day! I HOPE!

Sending encouragement out to Clykk, who must have just posted, by my watch. Hang on! Is this a part of Fit for Life concepts, the all-fruit day? Interesting to me.

Today I did the classic Fit for Life fruit until noon, fresh veggies mostly for lunch, although some protein. Sensible snacks. Yesterday was such a good day all 'round that I am back to 146 again, where I was after my last 7 days of no-white-flour. So if I can just lose one more pound this round I'll be at ticker, 2 more pounds would give me an actual loss. I exercised again this afternoon, but a short workout of 20 minutes.

I didn't much enjoy last week. Shall we begin again?
