This is interesting!
I tend to buy the prepackaged stuff just 'cause it's easier. Certainly not cheap, however.
I wonder if anyone knows exactly how a head of lettuce should be stored? I've seen cooking shows that talk about washing it first and storing it between sheets of paper towels, but that doesn't seem to me to be any better than the prepackaged stuff. There is nothing more disgusting than slimy lettuce that's been sitting in the crisper too long. Any suggestions?
