Hey everyone!
Take it step-by-step, Sodiumlightbaby. You've made terrific progress. Focus on all the positive things you're doing and soon the weight you lost (and more) will feel real. Doughnut, it amazes me too how people can possibly spend so much time on that garbage. Sometimes I just want to scream "LET ME WORK" a zillion times. I'll send good thoughts your way, perhaps a rash of contagious larangitis? Mudpie, it's been a rough month for you, no doubt. While our situations aren't exactly identical, I can sympathize. My DH and I live six states away from his family. 'Nuf said? SusanB, you're braver than I am! I know I should be going to the dentist at some point here, but I'm terrified. So far, nothing hurts, but if it changes, I'll feel your pain...okay, bad expression. Whittlin, I had a business lunch earlier this week that sounded pretty similar to your dinner. The place was pretty upscale, which in terms of food means, absolutely nothing not doused in butter or cream. When the server came with the dessert menu, I went for coffee while everyone else did cheesecake, cannoli, fudge cake. I think some meals and desserts really are spectator sports! On the diet front here, I'm holding my own pretty well and even took a leap of faith (or insanity), but I bought my first bikinni for the summer. We're putting in a deck and hot tub within the next 4-6 weeks, so I'll just be wearing it at home. Honestly, I'm not as fearful of the bikinni as the bikinni wax! I've never had one, although I've had my eyebrows done a lot. So, ladies, be honest with me...how bad is it? __________________ - Barbara |
mamajones-- unrefined carbs will send me into a binge day and will put me to sleep or just drag my butt ALLL day... I try to stick with stuff like oatmeal, wild or brown rice, beans, I love chickpeas...
Dana -- I agree with Whitllin, maybe you should be exercising differently... Weight training WILL change your body composition... I know that when I don't weight train I don't like my body at all, eventhough I may weigh less... I think it's Mel, when she started weight training heavily and seriously lost 3 pounds and went to a size 4... Which is what I'd love to be... So just hang in there, your weight is fine, just fine tune something else.... I have to get going, it took so long to read 2 pages that now it's time for bed ... TTFN  ... |
Evening darlings. I'm home from work. My first stretch of 4 evenings. I feel so disjointed from my family!
I'm weird for calories and carbs today and this wine is not going to help. However it will help me to be tired in a few minutes. When I'm done reading here .. I'll be off to bed! Kylie ... I'm not brave. I'm very grateful to whoever invented ativan. |
Heya everyone!!!
Wow busy bunch here! Dana First of all congrats on the 10lbs gone! Wow!!!! And I know the feeling of disappointment and not seeing a difference, or a difference that you want to see. :( But just hold in there and try maybe some weight training to change your body composition... And just think of how far you've come! I bet it's quite the noticeable change. SusanB Good luck with your teeth. I'm glad my teeth are in pretty good order, of course considering the sugar I've eaten this year I figure at least one cavity is in order. KylieH A bikini! You're brave. Hee hee, I don't think I would ever do a bikini wax. I'm doing pretty well. My house here is running low on food. I have a carrot, a tomato, spinach and some tortillas in my fridge. LOL, and that's it. I've been eating out a lot, and it will probably be that way the rest of the week, until I finish moving. I'm all done exams too! YAY! I'm a free woman for like four days. |
Good Morning All! For all you ticker police out there, I moved my ticker today (down this time!). I bought some really nasty tasting 7-grain hot cereal and have been eating it for breakfast. It kind of tastes like you took some cardboard and shredded it, added water and microwaved (plus I add honey just to get it down!). Must be working.
Maybe I need to go to the nice grocery deli too and broaden my horizons. Is there a such thing as yummy, craving food that is healthy? ;) I have had a headache for a couple days, so I know I'm losing weight. I keep a headache when I am dieting...I keep waiting for the 3 days after you restrict calories your headache stops rule, but no such luck. Anyhow, I'm being positive today (and that, in itself, is a major accomplishment for me!):carrot: SusanB: I have had white fillings for 20 years and they were only supposed to last for about 10. So far so good. I feel for you girl! |
I finally got in a good workout today. I haven't been able to get a run in for 2 weeks and this morning I ran for 40 mins (on the gazelle so it is not an actuall run just the motions of one). I had 2 bowls of cereal last night and my weight is up 2 pounds but I m hoping to be at ticker weight on weiht in day IF I behave.lol

Good morning everyone!!!
ennaybe diligent in your eating today, you hear me? Danacongrats on the loss!! I sure hope you don't end up with the bug going around the daycare. What a mess! hikerchickyou're right--we are our own worst critics! Whittlincongrats on the Back to Basics! I'm still leaning toward something like that--maybe even a couple of weeks of phase 1 or wave 1 or whatever they call it on whatever "diet" is out there these days. 2 weeks ought to do it for me. Keep us appraised of how you're doing (cuz it's motivating for me!!). Kyliewow, a bikini! You're brave!! I tried one on last summer but didn't buy it (I can wear one, but my tummy is covered in moles and I don't like the way it looks so I stick to 1 piece suits or those that cover my tummy). Susanyou'll get the hang of your schedule soon! I hope you don't feel disjointed too much! Ilenehope you slept well Cats TongueI'm glad you got your exams over with--now get to the store!!! michelinecongrats on the loss!!! canadian momstay away from the cereal (or at least limit yourself!!). As for me, I did okay last night. I was 15 minutes late for my meeting because I got a flat tire. I was driving from work when all of a sudden my car made this high pitched whiney sound. I started fiddling with the radio and the air conditioning and then it stopped (I think because I was now stopped at a signal). I wondered what was going on, so then I looked at my dashboard and all the little indicator lights and there was the low tire pressure symbol all lit up. So then I checked the onboard computer that tells me the tire pressure (they're supposed to be 38-40 psi) and one was ZERO. Flat as a pancake. No wonder my car squealed! So I turned around and drove back to work (I was only 2 blocks away). DH tried to pump it up, but it flattened right back out, so I took his car. The meeting went as well as can be expected (the girl I mentioned that killed herself, she and her mom are in the group that was meeting last night). I wasn't in town for the funeral, but I hear it was well attended and at least 22 people from my charity group donated food for the wake (not really a wake, but a funeral reception it was called--wakes are usually more celebratory). After the meeting, I came home and had a light dinner of leftover brown rice and vegetables and a glass of wine. I slept very well myself last night! Now, back to work! Have a great day everyone! |
Oh my goodness! How did it get to be after 2 already?
I'm going to throw some laundry in, take a swipe at the kitchen and nap on my bed before I wash it too .... yup, that's a day off ;) When I get, I'm going to do more housework and legs ... really ... I am. |
Dana, I had totally missed your thread about exercise accountability - "Help need an Exercise Buddy". So you are already thinking in terms of more regular workouts! Just think of me as voting for your plan!

woo-hoo! :woohoo: I feel so much better today! Not quite 100% but very close! I'm so excited, I'm having two cups of coffee this morning! :coffee: So glad I didn't cancel my training appointment.
SusanB and Kylie, This year I went to the dentist for the first time in something like 10 years (my SO kept bugging me about it). Luckily, he didn't find any cavities, but sometimes I think maybe he didn't look hard enough, because I definitely can feel some soft spots (but I sure as heck wasn't going to point them out to him)! Kylie, great job on the business lunch and how exciting to wear a bikini! alinnell, bummer about the flat tire. I had a car once that had a problem with that, it seemed like I had to replace all four tires, but one at a time. I was too poor at the time to replace them all at once. I got really good at changing flat tires. Whittlin, mmmm, shrimp fried rice! What willpower you have to have resisted! :strong: |
Hey guys, thanks for the words. I felt pretty good today. I do see a difference, I can wear clothes that I wore ten years ago, I'm just not satisfied. I have been working out at the gym, more this week then awhile. I also lift, it's my favorite thing to do and can see a difference, especially in my upper body. I think that after you have a baby it changes your body. My stomach was ruined and I'm having trouble getting it back. "sigh" Keep on truckin, that's all I can do.
|
Funny you should mention the stomach Dana. I had a "cup is half full" moment when running this morning. I was thinking about how since kids my weight has disproportionately gone to my stomach and it came to me...
I have been thinking that I look 4 months pregnant. But you see the good thing is that recently I look like one of those super fit pregnant ladies rather than a chubby girl who is 4 months pregnant. This is progress...I suppose. No really it is. Just imagine how good I will look after I have the baby. LOL ... actually lets not go there... not ready for 3. I only have 2 hands after all. I hope you all will forget my lack of chattyness. ALLERGIES have arrived and I am feeling like a 16 ton weight is sitting on my brain. So thinking more than one thought at a time is almost impossible. Back to nap... |
Hikerchick- well that made me laugh. Super fit pregnant chick.
Dana |
We're outta here! Heading to the beach in morning for a week in a cabin. :celebrate: Talk to y'all in a week! Have a good one!

Mamajones - have a great time! Hello everyone - hope you're having a fine start to Saturday. Here the sun is shining, it's totally gorgeous and the second that my always-late SO arrives I'm out to enjoy it. I had another wee slip yesterday and I think Tuesday will see my weight up but I'm back in the game today. Unlike so many people here I generally do OK at the weekends - it's often Wednesdays and Fridays that mess me up for some reason. Have a good weekend everybody :twirly: |
