Kylie, I go to a personal trainer 3 times a week (when I'm not sick that is) and I love love love him! I consider it to be the number factor in my success. I work harder with him than I do on my own, we do all sorts of exercises that I would not do on my own, (stuff that I don't know how to do, wouldn't think to do, or where I want someone who knows what he's doing spotting me) every session is different, and it's way more interesting than working out on my own. The hour flies by. I definitely recommend it.

It's an absolute struggle to get a compliment out of my SO (he's just not very expressive). But once he said that he wished his clothes looked as good on him as mine look on me! Mind you, he doesn't have an ounce of fat anywhere on his body, but he is a little (well, a lot, actually) on the skinny side. I did have to pester him a bit to get this (despite his resistance to expressiveness, I require a lot of reassurance about my figure these days, so I do a lot of pestering), but even so, it was really nice to hear. :D

Still sick :tired: but feeling marginally better. But I'm not going to make it back to the gym today or even out for a walk, since work is going to be busy all day and I have a hair appointment this evening. Hair comes before exercise; you've got to have your priorities in order! I have high hopes for tomorrow though and the scale is finally fluctuating downward (after hitting a high number that I hadn't seen a year :fr: )!

Hi everyone!

Welcome Liz!

I hope you feel better soon Blue.

As for me I am feeling burnt out today. I am sure it is just a passing thing. I think I need a vacation. When you have little kids at home it is hard to feel like you ever really get a break.

Things have been okay. I've given up with not weighing myself and have decided to move my ticker. I'm so glad to see a figure that isn't 148 or 149 where I seem to have been stuck forever. Exercise is still rubbish though.

I was in a really good mood this morning cos of my new low weight but an incident at work has left me really deflated to be honest. A few of the women I work with were talking about weightloss and one of them said she thought I'd lost a bit. I've not told anyone at work I'm trying because in my experience it often leads to sabotage city. I said I had and tried to leave it but she pushed for numbers and I said "about 10 lbs since January". One of the other women just looked me up and down and said "that's quite a lot really, you'd think it'd show". I retorted that it obviously did as my other colleague had asked the intial question which shut her up but it really burst my bubble.

Hope everyone's well. Any updates on our missing/sick feline friends?

greatchoice 04-24-2007 03:45 PM

Good morning everyone. Just got back from manicure/pedicure. I love getting them done but I hate taking the time!

Doughnut-that is just pure jealousy  DO NOT let her get to you. You are doing great and will continue to do great and she'll still be....her ;)

I am absolutely freezing and I think I might be getting sick  A lot of people have been coming to work sick lately and I'm sure we just spread it back and forth. Unlike alot of jobs where you have your own desk we just get up to go home and someone has to sit down at our position and that goes on 24/7. I always wipe down with anti-bacterial wipes though so I do manage to stay relatively healthy.

Hope everyone has a great, healthy and OP day. Jane

Can I say it? Biatch.

Don't let her get you down. She must be horribly lonely--no one would want to be friends with her with all that jealousy going on.

michelinwoman 04-24-2007 04:44 PM

Claudia: cals in vs out sounds so easy doesn't it! Have you noticed that the latest "news buzz" is how dieting makes you fat because when weight is gained back you get a little extra each time. Such conflicting information all the time! Your pic (the bikini at the beach one) reminds me of my former self...I have a very similar pic (but I was about 20 and weighed 115!--pre-baby) I probably ate 2500 cals a day back then! Oh to be young and not have to worry about such things.......

BIATCH and a half!!! :frypan: her !!! Don't pay her any attention, she is obviously INSECURE about something ... Good for you on losing some more weight :bravo: and  to you...

greatchoice and BlueToBlue-- Get some rest and drink some hot fluids

:welcome: Liz

Today has been a busy day with washing and cleaning the house, biking, and running, I love days like this :D ... All is good in Ileneland

No kidding..the last family vacation just about killed me too, a week preparing and a week to recover and all the normal crap while we were there.

I want more than anything else in the world 24 hours of zero responsibility--and that doesnt mean working like a donkey for 2 days ahead of time and after to make up for it.

OMG! I can't believe she said that! I agree with Ilene and Alinnell--Biatch and a half! I'm am sure she is just jealous and threatened by your weightloss. I am also sure, given your starting weight and height, that a 10 lb loss shows! A lot! Maybe you need a fabulous new outfit to show off your 10 lb loss. :D You are doing great!

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I do seem to be on the road to recovery. Greatchoice, I hope you don't get sick. Take vitamin C (I get those Halls Defense sugar-free vitamin C lozenges and I'm convinced they help.)

Ennay and Hiker, I seriously do not know how all you folks with kids do it. Just thinking about taking care of kids tires me out.

mamajones 04-24-2007 05:36 PM

Ilene--Love the smiley banging the other on the head w/the frying pan! Fun how they can really be so expressive :). I'm a little text-******ed so I can't even figure out how to insert a smiley in my message! Sometimes the regular ones just show up, I know how they get there, but I could never get one in that was actually cute!

Anyway, I already feel comfortable here & thank you all for your welcomes...

I thrive on structure & feel really disjointed when things don't go how I plan, so today when I got up early, I walked around the block & had breakfast before anyone else was up (ahhh...peaceful quiet mornings, love em), but when I got my sons up, I realized one was sick & had to phone in to get him to the pediatrician. Off the the MD we go...nothing major, just typical pediatric road-bumps, but nonetheless, my baby is sick & therefore atypically irritable & my grand-master plan has been sidelined which makes me a little atypically irritable :). We were a pleasant lot today!(Dripping w/sarcasm)

Anyhoo, in the grand scheme of things, it was a good day & I have lots to be thankful for & am. However, I can't help but be a little green that I didn't spend my day in blissful "Ileneland" :). Y'know what I mean!

Doughnut--I agree w/everyone about the nasty comment by your co-worker~~she needs her mouth washed out w/Dial...can you tell I'm a mom? Anyhow, some folks say things w/out considering how hurtful they can be & those people are annoying, but some folks say things & just don't care how hurtful they can be & those folks are just toxic. Hopefully she'll go home tonight & quell her emptiness with a box of Oreos. Would serve her right, all that trans fat in one sitting~~

BluetoBlue--love your HL Hunt quote, I'm adopting it as my own mantra!

Have a good night!

Aw - bless you all for being so supportive  I was actually annoyed with myself for being as put out about it as I have been. I know she was just being a :moo: but she's not normally quite that rude (she can be a little abrupt) so I figured she was just being honest. My clothes are a lot looser and my waist has dropped 3 inches overall so obviously something's happened. A friend of mine has actually just rung because she heard about it on the grapevine. She said had I not noticed that :moo: has packed on a few pounds this year? Now that she's mentioned it...........:p

I've just realised that I've lost a third of my excess weight. Sod :moo: - I'm going to do a happy dance :broc: :broc: :broc:

Liz - :welcome3:

Allison - glad you're back. I think at one point you were away at the same time as Susan B which shouldn't be allowed! All that was needed was for Ilene to disappear at the same time and it'd be like "um, now what"?

Ilene- always thrilled to hear that things are good on planet Ilene. Keep it up :D

Blue - glad you're feeling better but don't overdo it 'cause you don't want to stay sick.

Heavens - I can't believe that's the time! Better go to bed.

 this made me laugh, although when you're living it, :coach: IT'S NOT FREAKIN' FUNNY... I remember them all too well and don't miss those days at all... BUT they zoom by sooooooo fast and next thing you know they're teenagers and :devil:s in disquise!! Enjoy girls, ENJOY, as crazy as it may sound...!!

mamajones -- I also remember rushing my kids to hospital emerge for umpteen falls, strep throat, etc...... :faint: It isn't fun at all, and quite daunting at times ... To be able to get the "fancy" smilies you need to post in the "Go Advanced" right beside the "Post Quick Reply" when you reply to a post...

Technonot - Quotes???

:?: How would I just put part of a quote in my reply? I figured out how to access the whole post as a quote but am stymied as to how to use just part of a post.

One of you mentioned listening to her body in order to figure out what to eat. Well, my body (inner voice, what have you) always whispers "Chocolate, chocolate, choocoolaate!!!"
Dagmar

Sodiumlightbaby 04-24-2007 06:25 PM

Doughnut- nothing I can add that everyone else hasn't, obvious envy.

My SO actually did comment on how I was looking, I almost fell over, I had an old pair of jeans on and he said "looking good" told me that anyone who hadn't seen me in awhile would notice a big change. Felt so good to hear and isn't that who we really want to hear it from.

Pretty good today, made it to the gym. YAY FOR ME!! Had toast for breakfast, salad, banana and yogurt for lunch, and veggies with cheese, sardines and rice for dinner. I think I over ate at dinner, but I had a long day of moving around.

It's so hard to keep up with you guys and the posting, I read one post and think I want to comment on that, then move to the next, and I by the time I go to post I forget what I was gonna say!

Welcome Liz!! Hope your son feels better.

Hikerchick- I hear you with the kids, I only have one and no time, can't imagine more!

Barbara- Glad to hear your doing better, take care of yourself.

Ennay- 24 hours of zero reponsibility, sounds like heaven!! Too bad the world would fall apart as we know it!

3fcuser1058250 04-24-2007 06:26 PM

Dagmar, I just delete the part of the post I don't want... Also just above the message posting box there is an icon which looks like a thing in a cartoon when someone talks ( lol: I have NO idea what they are called, can you tell ...) Just click on that and you get these [ QUOTE] blah, blah blah [/QUOTE ] marks just add what you want in the middled ... You'll learn all kinds of tricks in no time don't you worry :D
