Question Stupid Treadmill Question

Ok... I'm on the treadmill at the gym and have a lot of options to choose from, however the only two that appeal to me are the "Fat Burn" and "Cardio" options. Now, the point of being on the treadmill is to work on my cardio but I want to burn fat. Won't I still burn the fat while I raise my heart rate higher and kill two birds with one stone???

Sorry if this is a really stupid question but when I over think things I just confuse myself. I just really want to get the best out of my work out.

THANKS ladies!!!

That's not a stupid question. For a long time I was lulled by the elliptical machine into working out in that "fat burning" zone. It was a lot easier than the cardio zone pace, that's for sure.

But in the end, you are right that it's best to burn as many calories as you can (weight loss is all about calories in vs. calories out). Work out at the highest pace that you can maintain for the length of your workout. You'll be both improving your cardio and burning calories that will lead to fat loss.

There is a thread on this in the exercise forum at http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=103485 that you might want to check out.

There are never any stupid questions any time, anywhere... I have no response to your question because I would just be repeating ... Have fun burning calories
