Default Why Cant we eat Pork?? Bread Crumbs?

I looked through the entire book and can't find pork anywhere.. Why is that?? Pork is my favorite.. especially pork chops... mmmm..

Okay enough about that.. I found this really good recipe for chicken tenders made with bread crumbs and parmesan cheese.. but I dont know if we can have bread crumbs or parmesan cheese.. its only 3/4 cup of both..

What do you think??

I think it's because Pork is ...in general.. high in fat. I'm not sure about this but I've always heard that pork is one of the fatty meats.

I did have lean ground pork once. It didn't taste all that nice and by the time it cooked it had cooked down to something that looked like bacon bits.

There is a Phase I recipe that calls for a little parmesan cheese (for the entire recipe which was for more than 1 person). So that would have equalled very little per person & cheese really isn't a daily allowance until Phase II. Can't remember if you're on detox or Phase II.

Bread is not to be eaten until Phase III & it should only be whole wheat. So you really need to wait until Phase III and make your own bread crumbs with ww bread (which I do whenever I need bread crumbs). However, in Phase II you're allowed cold cereal & you can use bran flakes (or similar) by crushing them & using them instead of bread crumbs.

On another board there was discussion about pork. Pork is leaner today than ever & in some cases I believe it's leaner than most red meat. I had pork tenderloin last night (3 oz.). If you're eating chops just make sure to trim any fat off of them.

I read on the Yahoo Forum for Fat Smash that you can have pork starting in P2 but it does have to be lean...no Fat.

Pork might be leaner today but it is still very high in fat and calories so I would be careful. I went off pork months ago before I even started Fat Smash. Bacon was really my weakness and now I love turkey bacon. I never liked sausage so really I am just giving up pork chops (which I maybe ate once per year) & ham. I know the salt in both would stall my weight loss. I guess you have to do what works for you. I would say no to the breadcrumbs until P3. Good luck! Lem
