Unhappy I so Cheated!

I cheated last night. It was my cousins' birthday and we've been planing her party for like a month and a half. Anyways, it was a big bash with lots of yummy food and I just caved.
I had ribs, potato salad, pasta salad, and fruit salad. One serving of each, and I know it sounds healthy, it isn't. it was everything I couldn't eat in Phase 1.
I also had a sliver of cake and some vanilla ice cream. *falls over*

I'm just happy that I worked out yesterday plus being active from cooking for the party for over 5 hours. 5 hours on my feet oiy -_- I'm aslo happy that I only had a serving of the food and not pile it on my plate like I know I would have in the past.

So anyways, I'm unsure if I need to start detox again, or just keep plowing though with extra work outs.

Yeah you might want to add in another day or two of detox phase to make up for that. But there's no beating yourself up - you can get right back on track today!

Last night I was sooo about to cave in and eat a cheeseburger. It was one of those days where everything on TV was a food commercial and everywhere we went there were delicious food smells. Note to self: do not go near a mall's food court when on p1.

I decided to have one regular ol' white potato with my rice pilaf last night in order to satiate this desire to cave in. I just couldn't stand the thought of another tasteless meal and this curbed my cravings. I'm still proud of myself though, I could have cheated a LOT worse than that (we have Round Table pizza on speed-dial ) so I'm not going to be too upset over it.

I have not done too good this weekend. The scale has not gone up at all, but I think I'm going to do 3 days of detox to make up for it. So

I had a planned "cheat" today for a fancy wedding shower. I'm on Phase II but there were still foods not allowed. However, I passed on the cheesy potatoes, sausage, stuffing and dinner rolls. I did have cream of chicken soup, a salad with very little French dressing, a chicken thigh & leg (peeled off the skin) & a lot of carrots (sweet tasting-some kind of sauce/coating used).

I also had the smallest scoop of peppermint ice cream - about 1/4 cup (traded with my friend) & a half of a thin slice of chocolate cake & a mini cannoli. I figured this feast at around 1200 calories. I had one banana for breakfast and am allowing myself 1600 daily calories until I stop losing. So I still have about 300 calories left but don't think I'm going to use them all. Going to try to get an exercise tape going tonight as I'm feeling a little bit better today.

However, I am not going to do a detox day unless I weigh myself on Wed. to see if I've gained (I doubt it) or haven't lost anything at all by that time. Or maybe I'll wait until Thurs. or Fri. - my normal weigh-in day is Sat.

I truly feel that if I stick with the plan most of the time, with the exception of special occasions (next one will be Thanksgiving), I won't have to feel guilty by taking planned cheat meals. If one of those planned days causes me not to lose that week I'll do a detox day or two or start going down in calories.

However, I still haven't been tempted to go off plan otherwise. Again, it might be the cold helping to keep my appetite at bay. But I felt so good passing up some things I never would have passed up before. I would have just said, this is a cheat meal & allow myself to eat anything I wanted & I would probably feel sick afterwards. I didn't feel stuffed at all.

Glad to see I wasn't the only one who binged this week! OMG! It was like I couldn't help myself yesterday especially! I felt sick at bedtime, it was horrible! So, needless to say, I am going back to phase 1 indefinitely! I love that I can start over and it is ok! Have a great week everyone!

Hi Everyone...

Lets not beat ourselves up whether the cheats were planned or not. I did the same thing - I was supposed to start P2 Wed and had to travel for work Thurs-Sat and even though I ate healthy foods for the most part, I did have 3 pieces of garlic bread, 2 cornbread muffins and cheesy hashbrown casserole! Plus my portions of meat/seafod were out of control..I ate A LOT! so back to P1 for me today so I can get back on track. Good luck to everyone this week, lets get strong and stay on track. Lem

Confession time for me too. This weekend I went off plan and that included a bacon cheeseburger from Hardees. I didnt eat out of control, I just had a few things that were definately NOT on the list. So needless to say I just got back from the store and once again I am going thru phase 1. Thats ok though, I still feel good about my eating habits and my exercise. At the moment I am having 1/3 c. of unsalted soy nuts and they are great!

On another Fat Smash forum I go to Dr Ian said that we could have soy nuts. I found the salted and unsalted ones at WalMart. They came in a big plastic bowl and are made by Good Sense. They are just what I wanted for some crunch. Sometimes I put them in my salad and sometimes I roast them with the chickpeas. I found them in the food aisle.
