Question Question...wheat and oats??

Hello everyone! I am thinking of doing the Fat Smash program but I havent bought the book yet...as I was looking at people's posts I noticed alot of you guys talk ing about whole grains and oatmeal...well I am allergic to wheat (and all oats) and was wondering how this program would work for me (before I bought the book!) Also I have very bad IBS and cant eat alot of veggies (like cabbage, broccoli ext) So do you guys think I can still do this program and do well on it??

Are you restricted to alot more veggies other than the cauliflower, cabbage and broccoli? What about fruits? Maybe you could talk to your doctor, you dont want to risk your health, especially if your not able to eat alot of the foods from the menu. I would guess you could be missing certain nutrients and it may not work as the plan is intended to. I didnt answer your question, Im sorry Im just being honest

Thank you for replying! All fruits are ok...juice is not but Id rather eat whole fruits than juice anyway. Veggies are really hard...I eat lettuce, cuccs, corn, peas, carrots (all starchy veggies) potatos, sweet potatos...small amounts of peppers. These foods dont bother me too much. But I think of those veggies as being the starchy veggies that you should avoid or eat very little of so I was wondering how this program would fit in.

Can you eat tofu? what about yogurt? other beans (chick, lentil, kidney)?

If you are eating these veggies (the ones you can) anyway, and you aren't getting bored, I don't see why you can't just omit the potatoes. You can bring sweet potatoes back later. And you are allowed brown rice as well.

ALL VEGGIES (but avocado and white potatoes) are ok there are lots to chose from and maybe you can try some new ones!

But I agree with brandilynn, go see your dr. and ask first!

Actually, sweet potatoes are allowed in Phase 1! The only veggies to cut out would be white potatoes and avocados. Instead of oats you could get your carbs from brown rice. However, I agree with everyone else on checking with your doc before starting!
