Default Take 2!

Ok, so I started FS about a year ago at 265 with the goal of 180. I dropped out after Phase 1 but I maintained my weight at 245 until Feb of this year. I ended up gaining back the 20lbs and now I am back at square 1.

I tried to get back on board this past week and I would do great until dinner time and then I would have whatever I wanted, nothing extreme but I wanted to follow FS to the "t" so that I could maximize my result.

I'm going to restart (again) on Monday and follow the diet the way I'm supposed to but I don't know how well I'll do once I'm home and have all the normal distractions.

Any advice for staying consistent any ONLY eating food on the diet plan?

Congrats on getting back on board. I found that the first two days are the hardest of phase 2, but then you start to get the hang of preparing your meals and not letting yourself get to the point of hungry, so you don't cheat. Make sure you figure out a plan a head of time (like the night before), so you don't even have to think about it when you're starting to feel like you could eat again.

One thing I want you to think about is that your short goal is very ambitious. I'm not saying that it can't be attained, but I'm hoping that you reconsider, in case you can't make it and that would deter you from reaching your main goal.

Good Luck tomorrow! I have been doing detox for Mon-Thursday, Phase II for Fridays and keeping it open on Saturdays and Sundays. I'm trying to get ready for my sister's wedding right now, but it's helping me to stay on track until then. We can do this together!!!!

thanks for the advice!

i realize that my short term goal is a little overly ambitious but i wanted to see if i could reach it in a healthy way by sticking to the diet and excercizing daily for at least an hour.

i had to talk myself out of cheating after work today and i am so proud that i can tell myself no. i found that food prep helps a lot bc i get distracted with cooking that i don't snack.

so far so good

Good for you to resist the craving! I have found that it's best to plan ahead...like take Sunday afternoon and cut up your fruits and veggies and figure out some meal plans for the week. When I'm coming home exhausted and starving from work, I know what I need to do when I get home for dinner. When you take that guessing game out, then I find it much easier to stick to the plan. Plus, I found that when I'm detoxing, the only times I'm craving something is when I should have been eating a meal. I may still have a little craving after eating, but it's not that nagging feeling. I guess we just have to learn to listen to our bodies and not put ourselves in the way of temptation. You should also come over to our Fat Smash & Weight Loss Buddy thread. There are a lot of people on there who are going through the same thing and can provide lots of support. It's like long lost friends, without ever even meeting. Good luck!

Plan, plan, plan.

I dont know if I can stress that enough. Especially for when you are at home. You basically need to make that environment friendly to what your needs are so that means surrounding yourself with the types of food that you need to be eating that are #1 easy to cook and #2 taste good to you.

When I was doing phase 1 i basically had to find a few staples that I knew I could eat all the time without getting sick of them. SO for me that meant tons of garlic, black beans, apples, broccolli, spinach etc. Also I would pre-cook meals so when I would come home hungry I could just heat up my food and eat.

Also my savour from sweet cravings Very Vanilla soy milk. A cup usually does the trick or sometimes I would freeze it a little and yum vanilla ice cream. Or if I had time I would bake apples with some cinnamon a little splenda and some quick oats and eat that with some of the frozen vanilla soy milk.

Like I said it's all about planning.
