Default Need Extra Info on Portions on EFS Please!

Hello everyone! I picked up at the library Extreme Fat Smash but I looking through the daily meal plans I have some questions on portions... I understand 1 piece fuit, 6oz yogurt, 4oz meat, but what about large veggie salad? What about the amount of beans each day? How do you prepare your beans? There are some instructions that are vague and just want some guidelines that others have used.

Also, it does state that you have the ability to have 2 100 calorie snacks each day, what have suggestions do you have for those snacks? I was thinking about the 100 calorie popcorn, low cal crackers w. small amount of cheese, 100 calorie granola bars...

I am excited to get started but I want to make sure that I am measuring everything correctly. Thanks and happy smashing!

Hey! I've been following the Extreme Fat Smash plan for a couple months now. I really like it! I believe the bean portions are laid out in the meal plans...sometimes a cup, sometimes a half cup. For the salads, I don't really worry about amounts. Two cups of spinach has something like 20 calories, so just pile on those veggies. I actually eat really large portions of veggies and haven't had any trouble losing.

For the snacks, he gives a list of a bunch of ideas that are 100 calories somewhere in the book. I tend to use one of my snack allowances during the day, sometimes for nuts in my oatmeal or a wedge of Laughing Cow Light cheese on some rice crackers or a Vitamuffin after church on my way to the supermarket or something. Then I save my other 100 calories for after dinner and have a couple squares of good dark chocolate or some air popped popcorn or a half cup of sorbet or something.

Hope that helps!

thanks so much for the reply. I was thinking that non starch veggies would be unlimited since they are so calorie low vs. the volume. Thanks again!

Yeah, I get confused as to why there's a differentiation between a "large salad" and a "small salad". What's the calorie difference there, maybe 10 or 20? I have been eating pretty much unportioned veggies, but they're steamed, or sauteed in a little bit of olive oil.
