Default EFS...what would you do?

Ok so I'm looking for some input on this. Tomorrow will be Day 5 of Cycle 2 of EFS for me. I have not lost much weight, but it is VERY Hard for me to move the scale. I lost 2 inches off my waist and 1 from my hips on week one though. Anyways...Monday I must've pulled a muscle in my leg and I can't run on it yet. This puts me into panic mode because I really counted on the running to make this successful for me. I also have some things going on lately that make getting in the required cardio hard.
So...do you think I should just call it in for this round and pick it up again later when my leg is better? I really wanted to finish it out, but I do feel that I won't get the results I want since I can't put in the work.
My husband is not impressed with how this diet has zapped my energy and he wants me to just quit. Since you all here know how "hard" it can be to stick to these diets, I just wonder what anyone else might do in this situation. I'm not trying to find an excuse to quit, believe me 2 inches off my waist is cause for celebration, but the leg is just not working for me now.
Thanks and best wishes to everyone!!!

Oh dear I'm sorry that you're having such a rough time of it. EFS is for fast weight loss, but maybe your body needs something else? We're all unique, and a diet that may be good for one person may not be good for the next. If this diet has zapped your energy, and the fitness requirements are out of the question for you, then maybe it's time to try something different. Have you tried the original fat smash diet? Or really, just about any diet or even old fashioned calorie counting might be worth considering at this point.

Maybe you could up the calories to about 1200, reduce or eliminate the exercise until you've completely healed. You shouldn't gain weight, though you may pick up some excess water weight that you might have dropped initially. Then decide if you want to come back to EFS later. But by all means, please don't force yourself to do something that makes you feel sick.

Good luck, and heal fast!

Thanks for the reply. I think I'll finish it out, just take it easy on the exercise. It can't really hurt too much. I can always repeat cycles when I feel better, right? I was just wondering what everyone else might do. Thanks!

I understand your problems. I sprained my ankle last week, forcing me to pretty much eliminate aerobic activity for a week. I have also had problems with feeling really weak. However, I think you should stick with it even if you can't exercise, you're still getting healthier especially if you are losing inches! The inches are more important than the number on the scale as you may be replacing fat with muscle, which weighs more than fat.

Interestingly enough, after two weeks of little scale movement, a couple of days ago I decided I really needed to force myself to eat the snacks even though I wasn't feeling hungry and I've started losing weight again. If you're not eating enough, your body will hold onto weight and that may also be why we're feeling weak. Make sure you're eating energy-providing snacks, such as raw almonds or a little PB or something like that and not wasting them on empty calories. Also, drinking LOTS of water seems to help me shed the pounds.

Best of luck!

Hello,

I'm a little late in replying to your message (not to mention that I'm new here) but would like to say I hope you stuck with it. I mean wow, you've already made it through the first cycle and well over half way of the second. Don't give up even if you have to find an alternative to cardio due to your injury. I still believe that you are accomplishing more by hanging in there.

I'm on the sixth day of the first cycle and "seem" to be doing okay. I say that loosely because like yourselves, I'm whipped and lack a lot of energy. I'm sure that it's due to not eating the snacks in addition to the meals. I have been doing the exercise but feel it is definitely working. I'm ready to see the results on my 8th morning.

Have any of you found a good black bean recipe? I would like to find one that just adds some spice to it...

Thanks and good luck to all
