Default I was wondering...

Everyone talks about what you can eat on this diet. I checked out the recipe section earlier. I noticed there were no posts about what you can drink. I can stock up on bottled water but what else can you have during phase one? I was just curious...

I think water is it, and unflavored at that. I read somewhere that he considers fruit juice wasted calories, though I think you can add it in moderation in phase 3. So unless you could the two cups of skim milk, you're going to be drinking a lot of water.

Water, water and more water!! I think you are allowed 2 cups herbal tea (please correct me if I am wrong.) I will say I cheated a few times and added crystal light to my water and I am still losing great!

That's right, I forgot about the herbal tea. And I drank it yesterday, too!

Thanks, TinaMarie. None of it was from Fat Smashers, actually. I lost 32 pounds last year counting calories and exercising, and then it just stopped around the end of November, and ever since I have been bouncing back and forth between the same two pounds. I am hoping that FS and changing up my workouts will finally get me over this miserable plateau, but we'll see.

I have some raspberry and peach flavored lipton tea. Is that the same thing? Can I just make it unsweetened? Not that I don't like water, just not all the time. I sure ya'll can relate that water can get boring after so much.

Lipton is generally a black tea base, so you will want to check. If it doesn't specifically say 'herbal', chances are it's not. I brew a pot of peppermint tea in the morning because it's the only herbal tea I can stand to drink without sweetener, but at work I sometimes succumb to a cup of Gypsy Cold Care with one packet of Splenda.

I'm only on day 3 and I'm missing my Crystal Light singles already. I love water, but only if it's ice cold, and since I can't get ice at work, I rely on Crystal Light to get me through. I keep reminding myself it's only for six and a half more days!

There are a lot of herbal teas around. My favorite is Mate Vana, it's loose tea from teavana.com, but you can find things like chamomile, peppermint, spearmint, marigold, strawberry, orange, etc in the grocery store already in teabags. Celestial seasonings is mostly herbal tea. There's a great site linked to this website, adagio.com that has a pretty good selection of herbal tea. Upton Tea Imports is another really good site for loose tea. You can get samples (2 oz.) from them for practically nothing.

Green Tea is NOT herbal tea. It has caffiene which he wants us to aviod. Chamomile is soothing, and has the side effect of a natural laxative. It helps the digestive system. I drink alot regularly to help me. Question??? I have been juicing it with my fruits and veggies. Is natural juice not allowed? This is how I have been getting most of my veggies since I really am not a fan. Thanks!!!

Good Question. I don't know the true answer to it, but there are some smoothies allowed in P1 I think, so juicing should be fine too. I think...
