Question Gearing up Day 1 tomorrow but have a question

Are flax seeds considered nuts? Can you have flax seed in Phase I? I planned on putting into my oatmeal. I do not want to screw anything up so unless someone says they are ok, I won't eat them. Just made out my "menu" and filled 5 ziplocks with oatmeal to take to work tomorrow. When you list it out on paper it looks like quite a bit of food! Also going to make a big pot of veggie soup in the crock pot.

In additoin, this is probably a silly question, but are sweet potatoes considered a veggie? I see they are allowed in Phase II - and for Phase I it states no white potatoes.

I'm not sure about the flax seeds, but yes, you can have sweet potatoes! I like to cut them into fries and bake them in the oven with a little salt and pepper and some rosemary...very yummy. I have also had them sauteed with onions...I like that too.

Yes you can have ground flaxseed in P1...found it on a Q&A w/ Dr Ian. I add it to my smoothies and oatmeal. Good luck

I wasn't sure about the flaxseeds either. Good to know. Thanks for looking it up, Lem!
