Morning smashers. Back to detox for me. I gained 4 lbs back on vacation. Not so bad I guess. The cravings are starting already though. This vacation was all about food so I am glad I indulged, just wish I had taken advantage of the gym at the hotel. Really need to get my motivation back. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season!

Good Morning!
I am so happy today! Dh was supposed to be gone until next weekend... but he called last night and said that he will be home Thursday night! Only 2 more days! I miss him sooooo much when he is off working. He has been gone since the day after Christmas. I know we need the money, but sometimes I have to wonder if it is really worth it. Joshua misses him, too. He cries when dh leaves and clings to him when he comes home. *sigh* Anyway.. I am doing great on sticking to the plan. I sure wish it was warm enough to go for a walk. I have to find some other form of exercise today. The high for today is only 48 and it is 38 now. I don't want to take Joshua out in the cold. The last thing I need is for him to get sick. Linda~ Thanks for all of the encouragement! I need all I can get! LOL! I haven't gotten Joshua's hair cut yet. I just "tried" to make it lay down. LOL! Dh is gonna take him to get it cut when he gets home. I can't bear to go. I hope they leave some curls in the back. Lettie~ Sounds like your friend will be a postitive influence. I haven't been to the Gyno since I had Joshua. UGH! I need to find one here. We moved to Kentucky in July. Finding a Gyno hasn't been on the top of my priorities list. I just hate it!! lol. Mary~ Thanks for the :dust: ... I need it! lol! hulakitty~ Those cookies helped me get through detox! I felt like I was cheating! LOL! I still make them. I had them for breakfast yesterday. Joshua likes them, too. And, BTW... you ARE part of the family. :) I hope you all have a GREAT day! I am off to plan out my meals for the rest of the day. Well, after three months away I am back fat smashing. I started on Sunday, couldn't wait any longer I felt so fat and was eating sweets out of control. I went on Fat Smash for the first time in Sept and lost 8.5 on detox but then once I went to Phase 2 after a couple weeks of not losing I went off. I am determined this time. I lost 30lbs 5 years ago when my son was three to get baby weight off...well it is all back. I quit smoking Feb 2005 and started gradually gaining until now. I want to lose 35 pounds before summer, preferably by April. I am 5'10 and up to 185.5 when I started on Sunday. I actually started last Wed and cheated Wed night, so started Thursday and had a great day and then Friday my son came home four days early from his dad's and so I went off the wagon Friday and Sat. I was going to wait and start today, but after getting on the scale Sunday morning and seeing I was up to 185.5 I said nope gotta start now. No problems yet. It has been pretty easy so far and the cravings are already gone.
The one thing I will do different this time is probably stay on Phase 1 for more than 9 days. Has anyone ever stayed on phase one for two or three weeks? Or maybe just add the meat from Phase 2. I have realized that sweets and lots of carbs get me going back to bad binging habits and I can't do that. I am very determined this time. Any feedback would be appreciated. Good luck to everyone |

Good to see you again. dh and I stayed on phase 1 for about 3 weeks. Then we started adding meat in about 3 times a week. I was doing so good until the holidays came. UGH! But, moving on... I think that most of us are back on detox again. Good Luck! Sherry |
Thanks Sherry, I think that is what I will do. It is just easier and when I was on it the first time and saw I could have cereal that just set me off. I think I will see how the weight loss is after detox and probably add tuna and chicken. Thanks

Hi Everyone, day 2 on detox and headache AGAIN. I was fine yesterday but WOW today is headache city. I'm still drinking 140oz of water a day so dehydration is unlikely. i'm craving poached fish and avacados ,can't wait until PII. LOL. I also went to the fitness center and walked 1 1/2 miles then did an intense yoga class for 50 min. I'm sore in places that I didn't even remember were muscles. LMAO!

OMG...I was just about to crawl in bed & surrender to this awful headache I have! I came here to post & see if anyone else experienced a headache during detox & there was your post! I was fine yesterday, too...but Day 2 has kicked my rear! My water is fine and so it just must be the detox from sugar & caffeine...yikes! Does it go away???? Still on plan...crawling in bed shortly! I had HORRIBLE headaches during detox. Well, actually it seemed like one LONG headache. It never let up. I had it for the first 3 days. By the 4th day... it was gone. But, I was a huge diet coke drinker. So, I know that my headache was from caffeine withdrawl. Take advil if it gets too bad. I had to. I know it has some caffeine.. but it is better than being in such horrible pain. Sherry |

Hey Chicks - welcome back! The first time detoxed I did for 10 days and then just added chicken, turkey or fish before I fell off the wagon and I was averaging a loss of about 2 lbs on P2. Even when I was eating everything in sight over the holidays, I didn't eat any other meats except a very little turkey and some fish. I don't find that I am missing any pork or beef products at all. The first time I was on P1 I was petrified of gaining the weight back when I went to P2. But, for me, I am going to add the chicken, fish or seafood back a little at a time next time around. I never ate meat twice a day in my old life so I will probably have it maybe 3 days a week or so, but not each day. I am loving the fruits and veggies like I never thought I would and detoxing now is very easy for me. Paige, sorry to hear about your headaches...I had them my first round of detox. They will subside, I am sure it is the caffeine. WOW MARY - 140 oz of water? I just read something that says too much water can actually slow down weight loss believe it or not. I hope you do ok with that. Even on days when I used to do weights and cardio, I never had more than 100 oz a day. I found rice cakes in the Co-op store today lightly salted and made w/ 100% brown rice. I might try some for something different. I used to like rice cakes when I was on WW. I also found Kashi brand 7 grain rice pilaf. It has some grains in it I am not sure I am supposed to have, but I am going to have a cup of it a week in place of my regular brown rice. It has barley, oats, sesame, brown rice and some other grains in it but no flavoring or anything. I cooked it tonight in veggie broth with a T of minced garlic and it was so good. Next time I will add some onions & green peppers to it. It is very nutty, not soft like regular rice. It actually made me tired to chew it up and I only ate 1/2 a cup because I full and tired :) Jazzercise was great tonight and I start my walking/running on the treadmill tomorrow morning. I will probably be very sore since I haven't ran since summer. Hopefully I can make it. Have a great week everyone. Lem |

Lem- I love the brown rice cakes! I eat them quite a bit. I'm feeling exhausted today and just not really wanting to excercise at all. Now that my vacation is over I feel kind of lazy and unmotivated. I managed to stick to my eating and show a 2 lb loss-- but that's probably mostly water and what not. Woke up early...no headache so far!
I have been using the Fitday journal and was wondering if anyone else uses it? It looks like I am only eating roughly 1000 cals a day...but I am full! I haven't gone near the scale so I don't know if this thing is working yet...but I can definitely see this as a long term eating habit. This family is a little worried when I come off of detox...I told them we are all eating like this! Hope you all have a SMASHING day! Paige |

I had another good day yesterday. I feel so good when I eat on plan. :) Lem~ I am gonna look for brown rice cakes in our stores. I may have to go to Danville to get them. There isn't much of a selection here. Small towns.... Sarah~ Sorry you have a headache. What is your next motivational goal? I know you worked your rear off before your vacation. SO good to be back with y'all again....Did great over the holidays, and happy to say the scale hasn't moved, I never thought I would ever get to the point in my weight loss journey that I would be HAPPY that the scale is not moving LOL.....Hope everyone is doing great.

Hi Everyone. Woke up and Headache was gone...I'm soooo glad. Mom & I are going to do some cardio tonight. She's so sore from yesterday...squats and such that she fell last night. Not good!! I'm sore in my shoulders...darn that downward dog. LOL. I'm not into weight lifting but I need to build muscle mass. I thought we weren't allowed to lift until PIII? That's fine by me!
Lem...That's the same amount I drank last time and lost 8lbs. I love to drink water and since I'm an emotional eater I use water instead. I also clean houses for a living and sweat. How much is too much? Glad you're doing great with Jazzersize. Hugs. Sherry...It does feel good to stick to plan and know it's working. I hate restrictive eating with slow results.
