Thumbs up Apple Crisp- phase 1

Ingredients
5-apples
3- packs of stevia (sweetener)
2-teaspoons of Cinnamon
1- cup of oats
1 cup of applesauce
I also added raisons

I took a cassarole dish and cut up the apples and put them in and then added applesauce to it and put the oats on top. I baked it for about an hour and let it sit. I liked it served cold better than hot. It was pretty good. Not as good as the real stuff, but close.

Just so ya know, raisins are not Phase I. I can't remember if they're added in Phase II or III (or maybe not until Phase IV).

I'm sure it can be done without the raisins and still be wonderful, now the real question, what temp did you bake it?

I thought any form of sweetners were not allowed in phase 1?

they aren't denied either, but if you want the full detox you don't use the sweetners. even one of the reciepes included in the book for phase one has parmesan cheese, which cheese is NOT allowed in phase one. He allows for slips on a diet, and realizes that not everyone can adhere strictly to it.

Stevia is an herb and has no calories - it does not affect your glucose - You only need a little bit - read below - I don't think Stevia would count as a type of sweetner like sugar or splenda.

Stevia is a South American herb that has been used as a sweetener by the Guarani Indians of Paraguay for hundreds of years. The leaves of this small, green Stevia rebaudiana plant have a delicious and refreshing taste that can be 30 times sweeter than sugar.

Stevia has many excellent properties. The body does not metabolize the sweet glycosides from the stevia leaf or any of its processed forms - so there is no caloric intake. Stevia doesn't adversely affect blood glucose levels and may be used freely by diabetics.
