Hi everyone
It has been one long week of being extremley sick. Fevers, chills, aches, pains, cough you name it I had it. My daughter had it first, then me now my dh. Hopefully we get it out of the house before it starts around again. We still haven't sold our house here yet. Have had some very low offers. Waiting for the right one to come along. Sue welcome back. Good to hear that you had a great time on your trip. I am like you I always like to plan the next trip as soon as I get home from the last. We are popping over to Bahamas in a few weeks for my birthday. From here it is real easy to book a flight. Gary my advise to you about the wedding is to stay out of the way. When you watch these reality shows I can't believe some of the things that people put themselves through. Just keep is simple is my idea. But watching TV maybe just a little to simple. Christina it seems like things are really easing up for you and your dh. It is nice to take some quiet time every once in a while. Hope that the trucking school is going well for him. Pixie congratulations on graduating. My daughter has just graduated also and is so looking forward to university. Wilma I hope that things have settled down for your son and the temp agency has helped him with a new job. My son started working for a temp and they are charging him $22/day to get him back a forth to work becasuse he has no transportation on his own. He got really mad yesterday because the driver was late so he was docked pay and then he was sent home early cause there was no work and the driver took over 1 1/2 h to come back and get him. I also know how your ds felt being sick. Thankfully you live in Canada and it is easy to go to the doctors. I really did think twice if I would go or not and pay all the fees just to have him tell me it was a cold. Lori I will pray for you about your situations. I can't even imagine what it would be like to have your character examined like you described. My ds once at a Christian school got in trouble for kicking a locker instead of punching another student. He then started to storm out of the school but stopped before he left the campus. Needless to say they gave him an in class suspension instead of fully suspending him. This was after I pointed out that he neither caused bodily harm to anyone or any actual physical damage to the property. Plus I threatened to pull him from the school becasue they never got at the problems that set him off in the first place. About a month later the pricipal apologized to me in person saying that he over reacted at the time. He then continued to apologize to my son. So maybe somewhere down the line this worker will see the damage that she has created and that the underlying cause has never been addressed and she will apologize to you and your family. Have a great weekend everyone Nancy |
Saturday
HI GALS~
Just hanging around here this morning waiting for my brother to bring over our laborer to work in the yard ~ I guess his grass didn't grow enough this week to use him ~ he is going to move rocks around in my yard today and re-tarp those areas then put the rocks back. WHEW! thought I was going to have to do it!:carrot: The weather has been really nice here all week, mostly in the low 70's with "easy" :sunny: The kids are all doing well here ~ my step-d was in the "drunk car crash" thing they do before prom and graduation each year at the high schools ~ I assume they do them by you and you all know what I am talking about. Her softball team is doing well and will make the play-offs. My son's jumpers are doing well in track, preparing for county and league finals ~ first year teaching almost over ~ I think he decided not to take the job at the high school that was wanting him ~ he is at a "very" nice high school now, he and his fiancee ~ looks like a college! The other school though has $$$, an upper area of our state ~ they offered him the classes he wanted to teach and the prep period he wanted, plus coaching track, etc. ~ he just seems to be "loyal" to his principals where he is now, especially since during the evaluations this year, they told him he didn't have anything to worry about, he would be hired on for year two ~ this was almost 2 months before they are usually told. The school chasing him was just in the paper for being the #149 school out of the top 1,000 in the US. Guess he will stay where he is at since he has :nono: baggage:nono: ~ his  fiancee  teaching right next door to him now! Speaking of my future DIL, the dance team she coaches just won the state meet for their division, something about Hip-Hop for large/middle high schools! We are very proud of her! My daughter just picked up an $800 check for some performance award at her work, very happy about that. She is being told by two "bosses' that they have requested funding to hire her for next year ~ she hired on for only one year because she didn't know how grad school was going to work out ~ looks like she is going to do to SDSU, she has been accepted there, plus she can work where she is now (providing funding comes in) receive $$$ for grad school from the company and be able to live at home. Nephew was "released" from the season on Thursday from tennis (they are in the final week of competition) for his :fr: MOUTH! again! He didn't think he needed his medicine that day ~ anyway he wrote an apology letter to his coach and promised to :ziplip: so coach reinstated him. His grades are improving with the medication. NANCY~Sorry to hear that the house sell is going as well as you had hoped. Sells have slowed down here in southern California yet yesterday the paper said prices for sales were "up" over last year. I'm pretty sure you are kidding, but I know all too well to stay out of wedding plans! Hope you feel better soon! LORI~Just love the pictures! I hope things are easing for you a bit over all the "drama". What a thing to have to go through. I am glad the weather is looking better, we get so spoiled here ~ but then for  out loud it got down in the 50's this winter! Dear I "KNOW" I "KNOW" about American Idol ~ I cried  like a baby :bb: when KELLIE was voted off! ;) Ya got ballgames today? CHRISTINA~ So glad to hear that DH truckin' seems to be going well, how long is the class? Did your lunch go well? Rest up now, looks like your work is just about to "START" after this little :sunny: summer break. HILARY~ ONLY 6 MORE DAYS!:dancer: :woo: :balloons: :encore: :cb: :spin: :carrot: :bravo: :cp:  :hat:  :cheer: WILMA~ That is such a shame about DS! I really :crossed: hope this is one of those things that quickly turns into the "UNANSWERED PRAYER" thing. Maybe somehow a really great job will happen for him because of "circumstances" that appeared to hurt him, but that God used for good for him!! AUNT SUE~So glad to hear the trip went well  and you are already putting $$$ on another one! Sounds like you are going for the :queen: OF THE CRUISES award! ;) Did work back up on ya while you were away? WELL, NEED TO GET OUT AND DO SOME CHORES ~ HAVE A GREAT WEEK-END LADIES WITH YOUR FAMILIES!  HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY EVERYONE ~ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!
GARY: You liked Kelli on Idol? I was CRAZY about Kelli and yep, I cried when she went too! Her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody was AWESOME! I have it on Tivo and crank it up really really loud to get some of the aggression out some days! LOL! And poor Chris! He was in SHOCK!! Are YOU the same Gary on the Idol boards? I've not been there, just heard some of my buddies on the 300+ boards talking about how funny Gary is on the Idol boards - I thought, of course, that HAS to be our Gary! What meds is your nephew on? My MOUTH has gotten me in more trouble over the years and I don't know if it's due to the bipolar or the borderline, but God help us when my meds are screwed up. Is he bipolar? I feel for him AND you guys if he is! What you wrote to Wilma is so true - sometimes HE does make things heppen in order to present us with a much better opportunity! Thanks for pointing that out for ALL of us - if this hadn't happened with the school, I wouldn't have gone back to my pdoc and as a result gotten on a much better med - Praise God! \0/ [COLOR="Blue"]NANCY: Hope you are all on the mend! Sounds like a nasty virus you all had! Thank-you so much for the prayers! This social worker would rather die than apologize, she's just that type. But...........who knows? A simple "I'm sorry" would sure make us feel better anyway. Glad the situation worked out for you and your son at his school that time! TO EVERYONE! HAVE A WONDERFUL AND BLESSED WEEKEND!!! MUCH LOVE IN CHRIST, LORI |
LORI~ YEP, sad to say ;) that is me over there on American Idol causing trouble! I didn't start it though ;)
My nephew is ADHD ~ for 3 years after I became his legal guardian "we" tried to live without medication ~ he had been on ritalin several times when he has with his folks, but it was "abused' or at least not "watched" close enough. After :boxing: with him, teachers and I with almost daily contact ~ over and over trying to "work" without medication ~ he came up to me and said "Uncle Gary, I try so hard to be good, I want to be good, I just can't without my medicine." I took him into our family doctor, who I persoanlly think is the greatest doctor in the world!! and he talked with Ron, asked a few questions and said he needed it. Explained to me that Ron was right. He is on ADDERALL, a low dosage, monitored ~ doing quite well since he has been on it. Originally doc had him take it as he felt the need ~ that was working, then all of a sudden he grew 3 inches and 30 pounds and the medicine wasn't working ~ Ron told me he needed new stuff because he was bigger ~ Yep ~ doctor upped the dosage, put him on it for all "school" days and he has been pretty darn good and FOCUSED!! Enjoy your Mother's Day! |
*knock knock*
Hi, I'm a new kid around here, and I was happy to find a section specifically for Christians! I have a LOT of weight to lose, and would welcome some encouragement along the way... it's pretty tough to do by yourself. Granted, we're never truly alone, but I think we're called to make journeys like this together, no? Well, anyway, good to meet you all and I hope I get to know you! |
Quick Happy Mothers Day
Sorry, I have been away awhile. Hope all is well. I will have to catch up later, it is late. They have tighten up computer security at work and the guys have been keeping me real busy.
Take care and God bless. |
LOL hi Gary... what do you know? Here you are over HERE still going on about Kellie! Maybe you could start an online petition trying to recall her... LOL that is what Chris's fans are doing!!!! :)
Just funnin' you a bit!! |

Happy Mother's Day
I hope you all had a great Mother's Day and that you were honoured the way you deserve. My kids and husband made dinner for me tonight. It was great!
I have been laying low this weekend because I've been a bit under the weather. I feel so much better tonight and will go to work tomorrow. My son is also feeling much better. He still has a sore throat and a headache but is doing a lot better. Junia: I just want to say a big welcome to you. Please let us know what we can pray about for you. DH says it's time for bed so I better get going. I"ll talk more soon! |

Thanks for the welcome! Basically, just for encouragement and strength to stick with the plan... prayers for health and energy are always good, too. Thanks so much! |
Hi everyone, wow, lots of posts since I was here last!!!
Manvan ~ Welcome back. I hope you are starting to feel better. I'm sorry that you were sick during the last week, what a drag! Gary ~ Glad to hear that your son and daughter are doing so well! And congrats to your future DIL on her victory! Junia ~ :welcome2: This is a great place to come for support! I hope you will come back and post more. Wilma ~ I'm glad to hear that your son is feeling better. Me - let's see what I can tell you. I had a pretty relaxing weekend. I took my mother to the Cheesecake Factory on Saturday to celebrate Mother's Day (early - since Sunday everywhere is always mobbed) and her birthday, which is today. I also bought a business suit for my dissertation defense - made it feel a LOT more real to have THE outfit. DH is in trucking school now. It's a four-week program and on the last day he will test for his license. If something goes wrong, they let him stay (at no extra cost) until he passes. Unfortunately, he is having a short delay in his actual driving training because the lab that did his drug test LOST his paperwork and they have to redo everything. (And to drive the big rigs at all he is required by law to have documentation proving he passed, which makes sense...driving a 40K pound vehicle under any kind of influence is just BAD BAD news.) So this snafu will throw him (and the other affected students) behind a couple of days. We're not expecting that it will delay his graduation, thank goodness! After the sprained ankle, he doesn't need any more setbacks or problems. So this situation was a little stressful but at least it's going to be OK. I hope everyone, regulars, MIAs, newcomes, is doing great! Hugs and prayers all around... :grouphug: |
Good Morning!
How's everyone doing this morning? I am feeling so much better and so is my son. He is still coughing a lot but the aches are gone. Now he can concentrate on getting back to work.
I'm busy at work again too. We have a girl leaving next week so finding a replacement is part of my job. I think we have someone suitable which is really nice. I go on a week's holidays in June and am really looking forward to that. Christine: Those drug tests are a very necessary pain. My DH has to get tested every once in a while too. It's sad that it's necessary. A lot of truckers take pills to stay awake and cause more accidents. Isn't it amazing how clothes make us feel more professional? I think it's so important. I used to work in a school where the teachers wore jeans, whatever and I don't think they got the respect they deserved because of it. I think dressing up means you care! Good luck on your dissertation. Junia: You are in our prayers!! Gary: Thanks for that poem. It really speaks the truth. We are sinners saved by grace. We're not perfect! We still make mistakes but we now have a relationship to ONE who guides us. I'm really missing all the posts. Please come back and talk. I've been on this thread for quite a few years now and credit all of you for my weight loss. This support is so important. Have a great day! |
