Hi everyone,
Stressful week for me so far :( DH began training on Monday night to become a truck driver. It's something that he's wanted to do for a while and we finally got the opportunity to send him to school. BUT, right after his first class let out, he fell down the stairs and sprained his ankle pretty badly  So now he won't be able to finish the class and he's pretty disappointed. There's another one starting in three weeks so if his recovery goes well, he'll get to start that one. We're praying that his condition begins to improve within a few days, or we'll have to consult a doctor about further options, possible surgery :yikes: Please pray that he heals quickly! |
Cristina: That's awful. I hope he's going to be okay. My DH is a truck driver. He's not a long distance one - thank God! He does overnight runs. I think for some guys it's in their blood. I sure know that mine wouldn't be doing anything else. My prayers for a quick recovery for him.

Hi there!
Wilma- Prayers for DS that He stays encouraged and finds the position he is ment to have. Wow! you and E.Z. both getting new decks, a great way to appreciate, all that yard work, that will be nice!
E.Z.- Thanks ! I don't leave for another week, 26th just have the week before I go mostly off, gotta work Thur. and Tues for a couple hours no big deal. How nice family together for Easter, the way it should be, so much more enjoyable. Christina- prayers for DH that his ankle heals with no problems and that he is able to restart training with next class. I am doing better, work going better as well, could be because I am on vac. Yeah! I paid my car off yesterday, pray it lasts for another year or two. It has 107 thousand on it. We will see. It is beautiful outside so I am off to enjoy the day, eating dinner with mom and dad, and then on to youth group and prayer meeting. Catch ya later, God Bless! |
I just watched our "3 Fat Chicks" in a video clip. The link is on the home page. It was kind of neat to "meet" them in this interview. They look great too!

Just a quick check in tonight.
Prayers for Wilma's son! ~ Christina's DH ~ Aunt Sue's safe trip! Have fun!! |
Hi everyone, it has been the most unproductive week for me ever! With DH's fall on Monday, being in the hospital all night, catching up on sleep, running here and there for medications and Dr. appointments, etc, I barely have time to breathe, much less get as much stuff done as I want. Well, there's always next week...
Good news with DH's ankle is that it's already starting to feel better. We consulted with DH's Dr and the Dr felt that, as long as it continues to get better, we shouldn't have to take DH to a specialist. DH also talked with the trucking school and they were great about enrolling him in a later class with no penalty. He'll start on May 8 (2 1/2 weeks) and if all goes well, he'll graduate and have his CDL on June 4! I'm so relieved that his accident ended up not being a big setback. He was so looking forward to his trucking training, and after three years of working in call centers (which he HATES), he deserves to do something that he actually enjoys. Wilma ~ Prayers for your son. I'm sorry to hear that the job fell through. I hope that God presents him with a wonderful new opportunity soon. Thanks for the words of encouragement. My DH will be doing long-distance trucking for about a year to get experience, then we're hoping he'll get to do overnight runs or something shorter! Sue ~ Congrats on paying off the car! That is a good feeling. I hope it hangs in there for you. I have one that has 106K miles on it and am praying that it will last until I'm done with law school. (Plus I love the car, it is just the right one for me, and even though it's older, I couldn't bear to part with it just yet!) EZ ~ Glad to hear that you had a nice Easter with your family! And something else, even when you're describing your LEFTOVERS, how is it that they always sound AMAZING?! :hungry: If I lived near you, I'd always be wanting to come over for dinner  Everyone ~ I hope you are doing well, and you are in my prayers! :grouphug: |
Another week as almost come to an end. Have really been trying to do well with diet this week. Mananged to get to the gym twice already and am planning to go tomorrow. Still no offers on the house but a lot of people have come through looking. The market around here has gotten really soft and nothing is moving right now. Spent Easter over at the new house. Had the finally walk through. We take possesion in two weeks.
Marilyn congratulations on selling your house. You must be trilled to know that the hard work paid off. Your walking and weight loss is also something to celebrate. Wilma sorry to hear that the job fell through for your son. God must have other plans for him. At least he has college in the fall to look forward to. Christina sorry also to hear about your husbands fall. I know how scary it may seem when you decide to change jobs. My husband went contracting ten years ago then he joined an American company and we now live in the States. Will keep praying that all works out in God's time for both of you. Sue take care on your trip. Looking forward to hearing about it. I want to make this trip sometime also. Gary the ring was beautiful. Hope the plans do not get to stressfull for them. Question for everyone. What is happening with all these tales about Jesus being married and having children? Also what is all the fuss about this Da Vinci code now that a movie is being made? Is this happening to cause confusion in people. :?: Nancy |
Hi there!
Christina- Good news about Dh, glad its going to all work out. Will keep praying it does, ditto on the car, I also like it, it works out well especially in winter, as is 4wd which is always nice.
E.Z. -Thanks buddy- still got empty suitcases, for kaylee's uncle and auntie! Nancy- sorry to hear about the house, but will continue with prayer it sells soon you must be excited about getting new house, great job working out and dieting, as for your question- this is my opinion- I am not interested in watching it, and I have no interest in reading the book. I know some of what is in the Di vinci code- That Christ's Death and resurrection was basically a hoax, that He was married to Mary Magdalene, and that He fathered kids by her. The world would like no better:devil: then to tear down Christianity, and that could happen if that one fact were put in question. Without His Death, burial and resurrection Christianity means nothing. Anytime that Hollywood depicts a Christian most of the time they are these nut jobs that belong in the psycho bin, because we know no sane person could believe this - right It is so irritating. Will continue in one second- |
continued-
There were two types of Christianity in 300 AD
Orthodox- Which is bible believing Christians today. You have to believe there is a universal doctrine that must be followed. Nosticism- Which says God reveals Himself to someone differently then to me and no matter how, it wasn't considered wrong. No universal Law- they believed Jesus was not God, but was a god- we are all a god (new age religion today) There actually are alot of gospels that are not considered part of the bible, Gospel of Judas is just one of them. To be accepted it needed to be canonized doctrine- This was done by the church fathers at the Nicene conference. The books had to be in Harmony and could not discount another book. Most of these books that are used to sympathize with the Da vinci Code idea, and other books such as Gospel of Judas are nostic, they undeify Christ, believe He was a created being, not God. I have to have faith that God created us all, and that Christ being God, had control of what is considered scripture. He was more then capable of ensuring that the right information was put forth and accepted as His word. That scripture contained in His Holy word is without error, which means these other writings are in error. There is no reason to watch them and become confused, as they provide enough information to be considered truth to so many people that are outthere. The ultimate deception by our adversary:devil: Hope this answers your question. God blessings! |
So AUNT SUE what do ya "REALLY" think? Our pastor said we should read the book, that it is a good book but of course NOT ALL TRUE!! He says we should know what is in it ~ since it is a huge success ~ so that we can witness the TRUTH to those that will be mislead ~ Persoanlly, after reading what you just wrote I think that you fall exactly into that ~ if you read the book and see the movie then you will be able to witness to exactly what the misguided folks saw/read. How many lbs. of clothes am I allowed?
MAVNAN~ Good luck selling the house! CHRISTINA~ Good news for DH~ ya don't suppose that they knew your husband knew a "great" almost lawyer do ya? Later.......... |
Hi....remember me?
Sorry it's been so long. My family and I went to the in-laws for Easter weekend and we all ate like pigs. Actually, we ate alot of pig :ink: We had ham, turkey breast (both from Honey Baked Ham Company), pork roast, potato salad, toss salad, butter beans, boudain (sp), rice, cracklins :barf:, banana pudding, jello with strawberries, bananas, and grapes..........
Not at one sitting folks, this was all weekend. boudain (sp) - rice and meat (usually pork) cooked together with seasonings and stuffed in a casing - looks like sausage. Can also have it rolled in a ball and dipped in batter and deepfried - called boudain balls cracklins - pieces of pork skin/fat deep fried (pork rinds would be the processed version) - again - :barf: Anyway, fun had by all. Hope all of you are doing well. I haven't had much of a chance to catch up on all the posts. It has been busy at work and I have been busy with my reunion planning. Take care, I will post again this weekend. |
Good to see you BETH. Just a quick check-in, sticking around the house doing chores today ~ have a young man over doing work in my yard ~ a very hard worker! He is here w/o papers from Mexico though. Poor guy, has 3 daughters ~ 6-8-10 and a boy 2 living in Mexico. He works here 8 months, goes home then has to pay $1,500 to the coyote to get back ~~ such a sad way to live. He has worked for other people I know for awhile but this is the first time for me...he is definitely getting more $$$ than the $10 an hour he is charging me ~ the guy is a working machine!! And all the "gas" I had to give him was a $7.00 combo meal from Carl Jr. WWWAAAYYYY cheaper than the $3.05 a gallon I paid yesterday for my truck!
Well gotta jam....Prayers for everyone!! GO WORSHIP!! tomorrow........ |
HI GALS~
A friend of mine sent me this a few minutes ago.... SATAN'S MEETING: (Read even if you're busy) Satan called a worldwide convention of demons. In his opening address he said, "We can't keep Christians from going to church." "We can't keep them from reading their Bibles and knowing the truth." "We can't even keep them from forming an intimate relationship with their Saviour." "Once they gain that connection with Jesus, our power over them is broken." "So let them go to their churches; let them have their covered dish dinners, BUT steal their time, so they don't have time to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ.." "This is what I want you to do," said the devil: "Distract them from gaining hold of their Saviour and maintaining that vital connection throughout their day!" "How shall we do this?" his demons shouted. "Keep them busy in the non-essentials of life and invent innumerable schemes to occupy their minds," he answered. "Tempt them to spend, spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow." "Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours and the husbands to work 6-7 days each week, 10-12 hours a day, so they can afford their empty lifestyles." "Keep them from spending time with their children." "As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape from the pressures of work!" "Over-stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that still, small voice." "Entice them to play the radio or cassette player whenever they drive." "To keep the TV, VCR, CDs and their PCs going constantly in their home and see to it that every store and restaurant in the world plays non-biblical music constantly." "This will jam their minds and break that union with Christ." "Fill the coffee tables with magazines and newspapers." "Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day." "Invade their driving moments with billboards." "Flood their mailboxes with junk mail, mail order catalogs, sweepstakes, and every kind of newsletter and promotional offering free products, services and false hopes.." "Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines and TV so their husbands will believe that outward beauty is what's important, and they'll become dissatisfied with their wives. " "Keep the wives too tired to love their husbands at night." Give them headaches too! "If they don't give their husbands the love they need, they will begin to look elsewhere." "That will fragment their families quickly!" "Give them Santa Clause to distract them from teaching their children the real meaning of Christmas." "Give them an Easter bunny so they won't talk about his resurrection and power over sin and death." "Even in their recreation, let them be excessive." "Have them return from their recreation exhausted." "Keep them too busy to go out in nature and reflect on God's creation. Send them to amusement parks, sporting events, plays, concerts, and movies instead. "Keep them busy, busy, busy!" "And when they meet for spiritual fellowship, involve them in gossip and small talk so that they leave with troubled consciences." "Crowd their lives with so many good causes they have no time to seek power from Jesus." "Soon they will be working in their own strength, sacrificing their health and family for the good of the cause." "It will work! It will work!" It was quite a plan! The demons went eagerly to their assignments causing Christians everywhere to get busier and more rushed, going here and there. Having little time for their God or their families. Having no time to tell others about the power of Jesus to change lives. I guess the question is, has the devil been successful in his schemes? You be the judge!!!!! Does "BUSY" mean: B-eing U-nder S-atan's Y-oke? Please pass this on, if you aren't too BUSY! |
Wow, Gary! That really struck a chord with me. It's all about the busy-ness and distractions that do keep us from strengthening our relationships with Jesus. Thanks for that reminder.
The weather here is summer like. Very unusual for our area. We are LOVING it. DH and I went out last night to celebrate our anniversary. It was really nice. 27 years and he still wants to be with me!:carrot: DS has a job interview on Tuesday. We are really praying this works out for him. He's a different person when he has a purpose in his life and right now just the interview is bringing him out of the basement. I'll keep you posted on whether he gets the job or not. Off to church!! Have a great day! |
WILMA!!!:HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Of course he wants to be with you after 27 years! He isn't  He's just like me ~ we both know when we found the best!!! But...why are you still with US?;)
