Default Hi there!

Sprout- wow! your doing great! Keep up the pace, How is the rest of the home repairs going is it all done?
My Fitness Journey - Welcome! Glad you joined us. Let us know about yourself.
Beth- Thanks! Legislative Day was good, he keynote speaker was the president of Liberty Council which works for Christian rights and liberties, for free, They do not charge. They are a blessing. It was interesting hearing the different cases He has had, as well as getting to know what bills are before the state for consideration. Then we went to see our State senator for state Goverment and assembly person. So over all good day then out to dinner which is always fun.
Wilma- Pray DS makes the right decision, and that you were able to get to work on time.
Pixie- It will help being able to understand better, and probably will improve your bible study. I like compairing them to make sure I am getting the whole picture. There are lots of bibles out there, just make sure the one you pick is correct biblically as some try to be politically correct and alter things. Like for instance when they do not allow gender to be assigned to God, or angels ect. and I feel that detracts. So just be careful picking it out that it is biblically accurate.
Well I have done better last few days, I am almost back to where I was, got a couple pounds to go. I am going home this weekend which is always fun but I don't tend to be good when I am there so have to be more concious. Hi to all MIA's Miss you guys. back on Monday. Have an awesome weekend! God Bless!

Default Body by God

I just learned of a great faith based approach to change, Body By God. Anyone heard of it? They have a 40 day "extreme makeover" I don't think it is necessarily for losing a great deal of weight, but more for making faith based improvements in your life.....

Just ordered the book, will let you know what it is like.

Sue -- you are right and I'm trying to keep that in mind.. that's why I'm taking my time with it. When I pick one out I'll let you know.

Julia, it's nice to see you here. I've seen some of your posts and I think they were great. I've never heard of it but I'd like to know if you enjoy it and a little more about it.

Smile Saturday

HI GALS~

It is a gorgeous morning here in souther California. Angie and I took the dogs to the dog park this morning so they could run ~ run ~ run! They just love playing with the other dogs. Tomorrow morning we are going to the humane society for a "walk in the park" with your dogs ~ a fundraiser for them. There are supposed to be a lot to do, I will let you know how it went.

Today is my son's 25th Birthday ~ sure makes me feel old! ~ well, guess I AM!!

Going to be glued to the TV tonight watching my UCLA BRUINS playing against Memphis in the Elite Eight of March Madness. They will be the underdog, but anything can happen, as usual.

I have been really busy at work on a multi-million $$$ home. It is in a track! of older homes from the 60's, but has an ocean view and the words LA JOLLA, California attached to it . The area is so pricy that they tore down the home that was there to build this one. Some people have just too much $$$. My boss begged me to come back (I quit a few years back to work with my cousin) and run the drywall on it ~~ he thinks that my quality of work will able him to get the contract on a 28,000 square foot home in Rancho Sante Fe, California. I think the biggest house I ever did was just a little over 14,000 square feet.

SARAH~ My kids are both going to Germany this summer, my son with buddies to see some of the World Cup, and my daughter is going with her mom to visit family. My step-d was there last year with her german class from high school.

AUNT SUE~ So you are taliking Kaylee with you huh! there goes my babysitting chance Sorry you are missing your shows with March Madness, I am kind of missing Ghost Whisperer. Glad to hear that Legislative Day was good. I hope the "mess" with Frankie's closure goes well for you. Not sure what to think of the Left Behind series myself Keep up the good work on the weight loss ~~ MAKE SOME ROOM for the cruise ship meals!! Blessings.

FOR~JOY~ Well what do you think about Kevin losing on American Idol the other night? i bet things are blooming up there! I mis-understood my wife, I guess my neice applied at U-Dub and it is her first choice, however she has not been accepted yet, only to Arizona so far.

CHRISTINA~ So glad to hear about the green treats! Enjoy your trip to St. Louis.

MARILYN~ Did you just walk by? I like the goal you have and your idea on keeping track! Great motivation...seeing it on a map! Go Marilyn GO!

HILARY~Has it warmed up for your break yet? I love the New International Version of the bible, it is the one I use ~ a study bible from concordia. I think Aunt Sue was talking about The Living Way from Tyndale House...I like that one too, I also have it, it is easy reading but it does lack some "substance" ~ i like to read my bible studies out of it first to get the story, then get deeper with my NIV. Have a great rest of your break!!

BETH~ Sorry to hear of your car trouble. My daughter called me last week on my way to work to keep an eye out for her, I follow her path for the first 30 miles ~ her alternator was going, she had called my ex-wife's significant other, our mechanic, he coached her home and replaced it. All went well except the missed day of work. Poor thing it was such a beautiful day ~ she just had to play tennis with her boyfriend! Her contract gives her a bunch of sick and personal days and she had only used 1 so far in 8 months, for the loss of her boyfriend's father. My son's first car was an '83 Sentra in '96, the car is still running for a friend of ours!

MYFITNESSJOURNEY~

WILMA~ Whattup Curly? the Shirley Temple look still getting you all the perks you wanted from DH? So the boy has a chance to coach AAA baseball, sounds like loads of fun to me!! PRAYERS FOR THE RIGHT CHOICE. i am sending you some to help with that exercise motivation!

Well, Angie will be getting home from bell choir practice soon, then off to pick up some flowers and veggies to plant in the garden...

SPRING is in the air!!

Have a great week-end ladies....get out and WORSHIP!!1

Marilyn, that's great!!

Gary, hope your son had a great birthday. I haven't heard of The Living Way Bible but I will be checking it out. The New Internation Bible is the one I will be comparing it to. Not quiet sure what I want yet but I'll figure it out. Nope, it's still really cold here but that's okay! I hope it won't be so hot this summer like last summer.. the humidity was awful! So I am semi-enoying this weather. Thank you! I go back on Monday and my sister returns from her trip tonight so I won't be on as much until I get my computer back.

Have a wonderful night everyone.

Well, Angie and I did 2 and a half miles at the fundraiser for the humane society this morning. There were 450 pre-registered entries and many more signed there up to walk, I'm guessing around 600 people all together . We had a blast and these mutts are wore out! Not so much from the walk, they are used to that, but from all the attention and petting they got!

Angie and I bought new spring flowers and veggies to plant yesterday, then went a little while ago to get more so I need to go get the shovel and help her!

Later, Gary

I have been bad on not exercising. I only exercise about once a week lately. I know I should do more. I am trying to get on track. I must stop eating at night. I must exercise tomorrow. At least my diet is going well.

Default Good Morning!

It's a bright sunny day here. We've lost a lot of snow with a lot more to go. The smell of spring is in the air.

I had a great weekend with my good friend. We just did a bit of shopping but mainly just caught up with what is going on in our lives.

Sprout: Before long you'll be in Manitoba with all the walking you're doing. Make sure you wave when you go by!! You're doing great!

doitforme: Glad to hear you're back on track again. That's the most important thing - to get back at it after we've had a hard time.

Gary: Good to see you again! Perks! I'm not telling!! DS has decided that he needs to work instead of coach ball. If he can find a job that will work around coaching he'll do that so we'll see.
Great job on the walking! Maybe I should get a dog!

Pixie: I've had the Living Way version since I was a teen. It's a paraphrase - written in today's language. I do think some things have been lost in the translation but I used to use it to do devotions with my kids. It's good to have various translations. I use the International Version now.

Marbear: Welcome! You will find that we are all human here. We make mistakes and have struggles in our life. God never promised that life would be easy but that He would be there with us during those times. I hope you find us all to be supportive of you when you go through those times.

It's that time again. Have a great day!

Hi everyone

Just spent the weekend going over the options in the new house. Our final walk through is in three weeks so the builder wanted to fix any small issues now if possible. Looking forward to moving. It is so peaceful out there and laid back. My girlfriend from Canada her parents live about 1/2 hour away from the new house. They are coming down for Easter so we will get to see them. South Florida is really hectic at this time with all the snowbirds. We have had some interest in our house. Praying that God will send the right people with the right deal soon. It would be nice to have everthing wrap up together.
Haven't been doing well with eating of exercising. We did walk a lot this weekend looking at the new area. Need to really concentrate for the next month.

Marilyn I think it is a great idea tracking your walking on a map. I was in Hope B.C. when I was a kid. It is such a nice place. Where are you walking to next?

Pixie it is good to look at all the translations. There are different times in your life when you need different views. I have gone through the Living Bible in my youth, the NASB in early adult and now I use the NIV. I like footnote to explain things. Keep looking and I am sure that you will come up with the right one

Gary I have tried to watch some of the March madness but I just don't get all the excitment of it. But then again I like to watch golf on TV now and I never would have done that ten years ago.

Have to go now cause people are coming to see the house. Hope they like it and make an offer.

Nancy

Default Good morning everybody

Marbear Welcome fellow Houstonian. This is a great group of people here. Congratulations on your 35 lbs lost.

Manvan Prayers for a buyer for your home. This must be a exciting (in a hectic way) time for you. I have never had to sell a house, yet....we are in our first house still, but I know that the day will eventually come.

Wilma Don't you just love hanging out with old friends that you don't get to see that much? It is always nice to just enjoy each other's company and catch up on what's going on in each other's life. My best friend lives 3 hours away and even though we talk periodically on the phone, it is always fun to go visit her.

Misti in Seattle (aka Dance4joy) Ok, initially you threw me off, but I know you - tee hee. I changed my avitar. Is that your daughter in your avitar? or you? I have a nice picture of me at home on the computer, but whenever I think about using it I am not at my home computer. It is a couple of years old, but I don't really like any recent pictures of me. But that will change soon.......

Sapphireangel I am on week 3 of my jazzercise classes. I used to go through periods where I would walk 3 or 4 times a week, then I would get off track and not work out for several days. I am hoping that being involved in an established program with a bunch of other people helps. Everyone is so nice and encourages people to go at their own safe pace. I used to belong to gyms (Bally's, Northwest Fitness Center, YMCA, 24 hour, Power House Gym). I do better with a bunch of other people. The more encouragement the better. That is why I am not only a member of this forum, but TOPS and I might even join WW. I can't help it. I am no good doing this alone. I talk to God alot too. I am one of those people who needs alot of encouragement to workout.

Gary Awesome. Not only did you get a nice walk in, but it was for the benefit of our fine furred friends. Thanks for the concern with the car problems. I am really pretty lucky in that aspect. Notice I got a new car. CRV. My dad who is retired and good with working on cars lives across the street. He helps my son out with my old car (he drives now). We want to see to it that all of our kids are knowledgable with cars to some degree.

Marilyn, Hillary, Doitforme, Myfitnessjourney and everyone else Keep up the good work with exercise and diet (life changes I mean). With prayer and perseverance we can accomplish anything. He will see to it!

Take care and God bless.
