Gary: I checked out Charles' site. WOW!! He has done an amazing job. And he did it by eating healthy and exercising. He really looks awesome.

Any news on Dennis? I'm still praying!

Beth: An early Christmas gift for you! 10 minutes is a great start! Keep it up!

Our weather has been fickle here too - only it's still freezing here. It went down to -20C here last night but is supposed to be around zero in a couple of days. (that's our melting point) I don't like that very much because it causes the frost to come out of the ground and makes for very slippery road conditions. Oh well, nothing I can do about it.

fitchick: Everytime you fall into that rut do something to pull yourself out of it. Reward yourself with things other than sugar. I used to make myself exercise more to make up for what I ate. Soon, I was eating less of it because I didn't want to exercise!! Sugar is one of the hardest things to overcome cravings for. I'll be praying for you!

Have a great day!

crk05 12-20-2005 11:55 AM

Hi everyone!

It's been a few days since I checked in, but I have been a bit under the weather. I caught the Christmas crud that's been going around at work, and I'm at home today. :p

Otherwise things are great and I'm so ready for Christmas! :present: Shopping is FINISHED! I am almost done with the law school apps :write: and will be ready to start putting things in the mail later this week :crossed:. My research at school has slowed down for the week because everyone is away for the holidays. I attended that Christmas party :xcheer: this weekend, and ended up having fun and NOT touching the evil cookies and cakes and :candy:. It was nice to see everyone, and all is well with my friend's baby boy. :goodvibes:

Gary ~ I'll be keeping Dennis in my prayers!

fitchick ~ Hang in there. This is a difficult time of year to stay motivated, but we're here for you! You can do this!

Beth ~ Unexpected bonuses are a wonderful thing. Good job on the exercising too!

Wilma ~ That weather sounds treacherous. Be safe!

Anyone I've missed, I hope you're having a wonderful week so far and that all is going well with your Christmas preparations! :snowglo:

doitforme 12-20-2005 09:45 PM

Hi there!

Its me- I got a chance to pop in and say hi and catch up on the posts, I have been so busy. The Christmas program went so well, got lots of compliments on my outfits, the kids did great, now I just gotta finish getting ready for Christmas. I got the shopping done for my clients today. Maryanne was taken by ambulance Sunday night to the E.R. in respirtory distress, so she will probably be in the hospital for Christmas they ran several tests but no results yet. They did see a mass on the chest x-ray, so it probably is lung cancer. Prayers for her appreciated.
Bren - glad you got your truck back nothing as comfy as your own vehicle.
Lori- Thanks! prayers that test comes out well.
Christina- Thanks!
Margie- wow your busy! prayers for adam and all the other soldiers over there
Mitchy- continued prayers you get the job.
Klynntz - Kids doing well - hope they enjoy the aquarium
fitchick- just gotta get back on target- you can do it.
beth- Wow! how cool new treadmill
crk05- sorry to hear your feeling lousy- prayers your soon feeling better
wilma- sounds like you've got your share of cold weather too!
Welcome spldwfe!
E.Z.- Thanks! Prayers for Dennis and family- I got to work wed. and thurs, evening then home Friday evening for Christmas caroling- our schurch goes to older people who don't get out to sing and bring some joy then back to church for cookies and cocoa. Then i work a double on Christmas eve, then home at 12midnight will get to moms/dads around 2am. Then off for the week after Christmas so lots of family time, and hanging with kids, thats always a great week. My sister has to work and probably my bil as well as He plows for the town when it is snowing and we are suppose to have a storm, my sister is a nurse and has to work that day as well, so gotta hang out with the kids during the day. It'll be lots of fun. Sorry your Jesus was stolen, thats terrible. Hope the spirit pricks their hearts with guilt and they bring it back. I got just a couple more things to pick up and finish cards and then should be done. prayers to all for safety and health in this wonderful season. Hi to all I missed. God Bless!

Blondee51 12-21-2005 10:23 AM

WOW......you guys are SO busy! My routine makes me look like a slug in comparison! LOL! OK..some days I AM one..but living alone has it's advantages at times. I mostly get away with it!

Beth..the one thing that tripped me up at the "meanie's" office was the chart on the wall...."Remember: to treat everyone with dignity and respect....blah blah"........and yep, I do think she missed that class....BUT....all in all.I had a wonderful, blessed week and I've carted all the crabs out of the sand box and it's safe again.
HEY! Another Texas lady! Woohoo! I love it here in Abilene....been thru Houston a time or few......lived in Dallas for 12 years..too much city for this ol' gal anymore!

I'm feeling much better today and thank God for it...whew. That was a close call! God was merciful and I am having a speedy recovery and will get some good rest today while off.
I have the 3 batches of baklava made and cooling..and will deliver it later. I got a head start last night by chopping the nuts, squeezing the lemons etc. and setting up materials and work space. That is at a premium in my teensy kitchen! I did my jalapeno cheese cornbread last night....that will be good with my soup I have in the freezer!

Gary, I'll go check out Charles78! I really was inspired by that show.TBL......and those folks worked HARD! I have about 103 pounds to shed and hope to work up some enthusiasm for the "work-out" part of my plan. Knowing what works and doing that consistantly will be the key!

Hey Lori, Michele, Sue, Christina, Wilma, Margie, Klynntx, crko5, fitchick, Amanda!, spldwfe........anyone I missed? add your name to this here list!..a big ol' Texas Howdy to you all..and best wishes for a Merry and blessed Christmas.....and remainder of this wonderful year....

Brenda

beth1167 12-21-2005 04:24 PM

Hellloooooo Everyyyyboddeeee (I am thinking like Kermit the Frog here - remember how he used to say that) OK, enough corn.

Today is a good day. I have been increasing a minute everyday on the treadmill. So, today I did 12 minutes tomorrow I will do 13. Whew whooo!

Blondee - speaking of the Biggest Loser, I just read in the People Magazine that Suzy and Matt are supposedly an item now. Anyone else hear that? I think it started when she gave him a haircut. I hope so, they would be cute together (aaawwww)

:comp: I have been really busy the last couple of days at work. But, I get 3 of the next 8 weekdays off for holidays. Then again, so does most of corporate America. I did about 1/2 of my Christmas shopping last night. Tonight I will do the rest. Most of them will be gift cards. We (my kids and I) plan on baking Saturday and packaging up goodies for everyone. Cookies, brownies and chocolate covered pretzels. Most of it is going out the door, but of course we will have to sample the product first. That will just have to be an extra 20 or so on the T-Mill.:tread: :tread: :tread:

Prayers for Dennis and his family, Lori (continue to feel better), Maryanne - health and comfort, Michele - job hunting and everybody for safe and happy traveling over the next couple of weeks.

crk05 12-21-2005 05:44 PM

Hi everyone! Just a drive-by posting today because I am deep in some work for school. :comp: Yes, four days before Christmas. I can hardly believe it myself. That's the life of a grad student, haha! My law school applications have officially turned my brain to sludge :stress:, but (yay) there's still so much more work to do! And cooking dinner, I must not forget. :chef: I would love to have a :burger: or some fried :chicken: but I'm afraid that won't do...

For those of you that are getting ready to embark on Christmas journeys, I hope that you have a wonderful time and safe travels! I will keep you all in my prayers! Merry Christmas to all of you! :tree:

OK, back to work, Christina! Sigh... :(

pixiefalls 12-22-2005 01:41 AM

Hey everyone.

I wanted to keep up on all the latest talk, but I went to Little Rock with my sister and nephew for a few days and I'm so worn out from it all.. so maybe soon I can try to read some:lol:.

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their Christmas near-weekend time.. I can't believe how the time is flying.

On a separate note I lost 2 pounds last week (weighed in on Friday at 249.5) and I'm down a .5 from then.. woohoo!

It's almost 1 am.. I've got to get some sleep! Take care everyone:).

wilma12 12-22-2005 09:01 AM

Good Morning All!

It's 2 days until Christmas! I am finally finished my gift shopping. I just have to get groceries for the weekend and then I can enjoy it. I don't have a lot to do because we're having dinner both Christmas eve and Christmas day with relatives. I am doing a Christmas eve brunch with just our kids. They love waffles so that's what I"ll do along with a quiche. I'm also looking forward to the 2 days off after Christmas.

gary: What's going on? Has Dennis' situation changed for the worse even more? My prayers are with you and your family right now!

Sunny: Are you lurking out there? We miss you! Hope all is well with you.

Michele: Junior must be keeping you busy these days! Did you get the job?

Lori: How are things going there with your brood? They must all be getting excited for Christmas!

crk: Hope you're feeling well soon! Nothing like getting sick at Christmas!

doitforme: Glad your program went well. I love watching the children in those. They don't know how cute they are and they're so sincere.

Beth: Keep up the good work on the treadmill. You're doing great!

pixie: WTG with the weight loss. You're on the right track.

Well, better get going to work. It'll be busy today so I need to get my rear in gear.

Have a wonderful day!

EZMONEY 12-22-2005 09:18 AM

Thank all of you for your prayers for Dennis...his body had been shutting down rapidly the last 2 days...my daughter left work early yesterday to be with the family...on her way home, stuck in traffic, her boyfriend called and told her the nurse said "no company" it has to be very quiet for him at this time...she was very hurt because she had been there the entire time...she is very close to Dennis...but understood that she isn't family just wanted to be there to comfort Zac...thank goodness Zac called within the hour and told her that she could be there....she came home sometime in the night, I didn't hear her so I am not sure what is going on since she of course is still in bed...if Dennis is not with our Lord at the moment, he will be there shortly.
I am off to work, I will keep in touch.

Thanks so much again for the prayers. Prayers for ALL of you. Gary

Hello to all. It has been slow at work today. When I went home during lunch, I made all of my kids take pictures. These are my kids. I am proud of all of them. The little blond is my "Mini Me"

I need to practice a little on the inserting pictures. This is not a very clear picture.

Thursday Night

HI GALS:wave:

For those praying for DENNIS and the MARKHAM FAMILY Thank-you! As of 5:00 tonight he is still on this earth. my kiddo was asleep when I left for work and gone when I got home, but Angie said that Amanda told her that Dennis was still hanging in there, completely out of it but in pain....the nurses told the family yesterday afternoon that he had just a few hours left... guess he is being stubborn...or our awesome Lord is not finished with His work on earth with Dennis.

AUNT SUE!! Thank-you for the card...so looking forward to Christmas pics from our neice on her pony!!! I drove by a Cowgirl Up store today in the town I was working in...didn't have a chance to go in...ever hear of it? Prayers for Maryann...so sad the pain some go through at the end of their lives on earth. Have a great week with your family!!!! I hope your clients have warm thoughts for you as you work through the days of Christmas.

BETH Cute kids. Happy baking! Any treadmill contests going?

WILMAAngie doesn't do quice...but makes a couple of mean frittatas! have a great Christmas this year with the new daughter and workin' boys!! ;)

doitforme 12-22-2005 09:58 PM

Hi again-

Just popped in, I took my presents home tonight so I don't have to take them on Christmas eve. Christmas caroling tom night then double on the eve then off yeah- can't wait.
Beth- nice looking group of kids!
E.z.- Prayers continue- tough to watch someone holding on, Maryanne thankfully is currently believed to be pain free- the sad thing is she can't tell you if she is in pain. She is like a baby in an adult body. She was born normal but had spinal meningitis, and ended up brain damaged from it. So her pain factor is a guessing game- unless she is yelling or grimacing. I appreciate the prayers for her, she is alone except at mealtime, because they will not pay overtime when she is considered needing 1 to 1 supervision, but the nurses have a terrible time getting pills down her ect. Hopefully they will get the fluid in lungs issue under control enough that she can come home. Where people that know her are caring for her. Tough situation with all the budget crunching. Anyway on a better note, my sweet pea is going to love her rocking horse, I am sure- Thanks again, and you can expect pics shortly after Christmas. She should be so much fun this Christmas she is happy to play with the paper after it rips. Never heard of a cowgirl up store, sounds neat, you'll have to check it out and let me know what they have. Save me a bowl of that Christmas linguine that sounds yummy. I will have the whole week with my nieces and nephews, and will be doing a teen youth group sleepover on Wed. night that should be lots of fun. So hope everyone has an awesome Christmas, Again God Bless.

doitforme 12-22-2005 10:02 PM

me one more time!

A poem I thought I would share, hope you enjoy!

Twas the night before Jesus Came

‘Twas the night before Jesus came and all through the house
Not a creature was praying, not a one in the house.

Their bibles were lain on the shelf without care
In hopes that Jesus would not come there.

The children were dressing to crawl into bed,
Not once ever kneeling or bowing a head.
And mom in her rocker with baby on her lap
Was watching the late show while I took a nap.

When out to the East there arose such a clatter,
I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.
Away to the window, I flew like a flash
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash!

When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But angels proclaiming that Jesus was here.
With a light like the sun sending forth a bright ray
I knew in a moment this must be THE DAY!

The light of His face made me cover my head
It was Jesus! Returning just like He said.
And though I possessed worldly wisdom and wealth,
I cried when I saw Him in spite of myself.

In the Book of Life which He held in His hand
Was written the name of every saved man.
He spoke not a word as He searched for my name ;
When He said “It’s not here” my head hung in shame.

The people whose names had been written with love
He gathered to take to His Father above.
With those who were ready He rose without a sound
While all the rest were left standing around.

I fell to my knees, but it was too late ;
I had waited too long and thus sealed my fate.
I stood and I cried as they rose out of sight ;
Oh, if only I had been ready tonight.

In the words of this poem the meaning is clear;
The coming of Jesus is drawing near.
There’s only one life and when comes the last call
We’ll find that the Bible was true after all!

pixiefalls 12-22-2005 11:14 PM

Hey guys..

Sue -- the poem was really cute, I loved it:)! It's the blunt truth for some people as well..

Gary -- prayers will continue for Dennis, I hope the pain eases..

Thanks everyone for the congrats on the weight loss.

Oh, has anyone heard of the book "For Women Only"? Well I bought it at a Christian store in Little Rock and it's awesome. Yes, I am a young lady, but it gives me a lot of insight on the other gender I hadn't realized they possessed;). On another note, when I went to my church's youth service yesterday they surprised us with a Christmas gift -- we went to see The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.. the movie was simply amazing!! Has anyone else seen it?

Well, I'll be back tomorrow to see what everyone is up too. Sleep well, prayers for ALL.

Oh and Gary, I read his story after a search for the moved thread.. and wow! I'm so glad you posted to look him up. He has so inspired me more.. I just can't describe it!

Blondee51 12-23-2005 08:20 AM

Hiya crew!!
Hey Gary, I found a pic of Charles78 and one post so don't think I was in the right place but WOW...he looks SO good and has worked very hard! I was in awe of his stats! WOOHOO! I'll go back when I have playtime and do a more thorough search now that I know where to go! Thanks! Hey.....an ex named Brenda.....woohoo. I've been an ex twice and that's enough..first time my choice..he was a BAD man.......second.....hubby's choice. I was a GOOD wife! LOL! ;)
Jalapenos..oh yum! My cornbread didn't have enough heat but it's really good. The baklava is history.......for another year. I've had all the sugar I'm getting for the rest of the year I hope. I'll be at Mom's for Christmas, with her and my Bubba, who is one year younger than me...to the day. He was born on my 1st birthday and the only gift I got. I asked for "toy" got "boy" and he says he's the BEST gift I ever got.:?:

Sue....thanks for the poem! I'd read that before and it's a good one. For this time of year as a reminder.......of who's Birthday we are celebrating and the giver of every good gift!

Beth! Good job inserting the pics! Great group of kids and what a blessing! I like the Mini-Me.......that's cute!

I've gotta get ready for work so better boogy....tomorrow I get 1/2 day off and will head to Mom's. I'll c-yall here later!
Be good to you...have a blessed Christmas and enjoy the moments and memories in the making....
Bren

beth1167 12-23-2005 09:50 AM

Greetings everyone. It is really quiet here at work. I work in a small division of a large company. We used to be our own separate company until we were bought several years ago.....actually more like 15 or so years. Anyway, we still are kinda separate. We have Monday and Tuesday off and they all have Today and Monday. There was no one here when I got here. Finally a couple people showed up. I will probably go home early today. Nothing much to do so I brought a Reader's Digest and a couple of Guidepost to read.

I am really looking forward to the next couple of weeks. Saturday, our church is having serveral services. Something for everyone. Contemporary, traditional, musical, skit. Each one is different and you go to whichever. We are going to hear an orchestra and the choir. I love Christmas music. Then, we are going to my brothers (sister-in-law and 2 kids) Sunday for Christmas dinner and gift exchange. Next weekend we go to my husbands for belated Christmas/New Years. He is from SW Louisiana (Cajuns). Some of his family plays in a band and every year they have a big "shin dig" at his uncle's house. Music, food, fireworks. Always fun.

Gotta go. Till next time......blessings to all.

mom2fivesweeties 12-23-2005 05:38 PM

HAVE A VERY BLESSED CHRISTMAS, MY FRIENDS!

Merry Christmas

;) MERRY CHRISTMAS GALS:clause:

I wanted to let everyone know that Dennis passed away early this morning. My daughter called me at work this morning to tell me. She said that the family wanted to get out of the house for awhile...they were going to the beach (the waves here are HUGE!! right now) then to the Wild Animal Park. That is something that would PLEASE  Dennis...he couldn't stand being in the house :nono: "watching" TV (unless it was to see his Chargers or Padres... but then he would much rather be at the game)...he had to be out doing things! He still surfed...not sure of his age but he was in his 60's...up until 6 months ago, went to Montana...although a struggle...with his old high school buddies, to fish and camp, about 3 months ago. Anyway thank you so much...and I know the family would if they could...for your Prayers!! We all know that they helped in some way to see them all through this!!

AUNT SUELove the poem!! Why does it seem budget crunches always hurt those that need it the most? Glad :mrsclaus: Auntie Claus got the presents there safely...I would be so bummed if "our" neice had only coal for Christmas;) Have fun (  )(KIDDING! I know they are good kids) with the teen-ager sleep over! Enjoy your time off.

HILARY I have not seen the movie but I sure want to! Glad to hear that you liked it. My kids read the books in junior high and loved them. Being Lutherans, several of our friends are C.S. Lewis fans...I haven't much of his stuff since it isn't in Sports illustrated:^: Oh~ you are so right! My wife says that I am certainly "possessed!" ;)

BRENDA You and your brother have the same birthday? What are the odds in that I wonder. Enjoy your time off!

CHRISTINAMerry Christmas right back at ya! Is the tradgedy of Tony Dungey's son anywhere near your place in Florida...you may not know the story.

LORI Thank-you! Got it today....You are ALSO one of my many 3FC blessings this year!

Well I finished all my shopping...       YEA RIGHT!! Actually I never left the house! Angie :mrsclaus: did it all this year while I watched football...didn't even need to shop for her since she didn't want anything...she bought herself those new drapes right before :happ3: ..so I was home free!!!!!!!!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all my 3FC friends...I was going to name you all....but...with my memory I know I would miss someone and feel rotten so FOR ALL OF YOU :candy: :tree: :candy:

And for baby JESUS:hb: Happy Birthday..what a :gift: for US!!

wilma12 12-23-2005 07:30 PM

Gary: My condolences to Dennis' family. It sounds like he was a great guy and will be sorely missed. My prayers are with them at this really difficult time. Of course, he gets to spend Jesus' birthday with HIM.

:wreath: :candy: I just want to take this opportunity to tell all of you how much I appreciate you and you have come to mean a lot to me. I wish God's greatest blessing on you as you celebrate his birthday!!:tree: :snowglo:

pixiefalls 12-23-2005 09:36 PM

Gary, prayers for Dennis's family. Haha well possessed or not.. I know I understand my guy better;) (I'm sure he is happy about that). Awesome:). My older sister has read the book and she loved it since then, but I've never read the book. She was there with me when we saw it and I sure hope you go see it! Let me know what you think of it if you get a chance to go:).

Prayers for everyone. It was a blessing for me to find this place, to share my experience, and to learn from all yours. Enjoy this time with your family and your Father in Heaven.

I might not be on in the next couple of days so I wish you all a Merry Christmas!

doitforme 12-23-2005 11:07 PM

Me again!

I had a couple minutes so I popped in, were having freezing rain so didn't go caroling tonight like planned. But I got everything done, that I needed to. Gotta work a double shift tom, then off for a week. Not too bad.
Pixie- Thanks! I saw Chronicles of Narnia- I agree it was awesome, animals almost look real, they did a great job I thought.
Brenda- Glad you enjoyed the poem.
Beth-Slow day at work i could use one of them! Sometimes time goes quicker when your busy though.
Mom to 5- right back at ya!
Christina- thanks!
E.z.-
So sorry to hear about Dennis, but He is resting safely with the Savior now.
He has gone home, no better place to be. Thanks! She will do fine with presents I am sure. She has her daddy wrapped around her finger, just like her big sister does. I got a couple new pics of our nieces and their brother, johnny. I'll post them.
Wilma- ditto
Merry Christmas everyone and also Happy New Year, I will be gone a little over a week probably because I gotta work a double on the 2nd so it'll be after that. Take care and have a great Christmas.

crk05 12-24-2005 06:20 PM

Gary - I'm so sorry to hear about Dennis's passing. No doubt he will be greatly missed, but he will be at home with the Savior now. I will keep his family in my prayers.

Blondee51 12-25-2005 12:42 PM

Hello all and MERRY CHRISTMAS!
I came home this morning from Mom's so have the rest of the day to get things in order here at home. I did my cleaning Saturday before work so was a step ahead in the game plan.

Gary...I am sorry to hear of Dennis's passing....it's never a good time to lose someone, but the Holidays make it tougher. Knowing he's with his Savior, in no pain and how much he was loved while here....will bring comfort in the days ahead. The loving memories of the joy he brought, will outweigh the pain felt now..... in time. (((HUGS))) and prayers.....for the family and friends.

I hope you are enjoying your Mexican feast!.....My ex # 2 and I used to do tamales at Christmas.......oh devine! We'd do about 20 dozen or so, give a dozen to those on our list...and eat the other 19 dozen...just kiddin'! Tho we did fend for ourselves first! He got tips from the Mexican ladies at his workplace and did a great job of it. The kids soon decided, after about 4 years of "forced labor" that the payoff wasn't as great as promised! I even helpd the year of our divorce......it was fun but a bit "uncomfy".....as there was nothing of "me" in his new place. he was (is) a good man and I'll always care for him and wish him peace and boo-coo's of joy..we all need that and so many don't have it. I wouldn't have MINE...without my relationship with Christ!
The only thing we could figure is Mom wanted to do just ONE BD cake a year and one round of gifts? I had a sister, born in September, but she lived only 9 months, so it was just Bubba and me.

Beth...I heard that too and saw Matt and Suzy on TV the other day, confirming the hook-up. They are cute together and I was rooting for ALL of 'em....GOOD for you! Treadmill time! I have a cardio-glide machine that I dust once a quarter...guess it needs to see more use! I can get a lot of my work-out done at the office and will work that into my schedule.

Sue.....prayers still in for MaryAnn.....and for you. I feel for those in physical distress, and in need of healing. God is the ultimate healer and His touch is my desire and prayer.
I have a friend in need, too. Ceceila......is like a sister to me and has had a really rough time of things for the past year or so. Eye surgery that didn't go well, replaced pacemaker, general decline in health and emotional distress. I
pray for a renewal of her faith and relationship with God, as well as for physical and emotional healing.

For myself: I want to hear clearly again! Whatever I need to do to help myself..I want to be willing to do it...and do it every day! Not just when I'm in trouble will I behave!

Gonna run for now...wishing you all a wonderful day, however you spend it. Have some moments for reflection and rest. I'll be back!

HI GALS:wave:

Not a lot of time this morning...have to go to work...wanted to congratulate MARGIE On her Chicago Bears :carrot: making the play-offs.

BRENDA Angie and I kept it simple this year with just cheese enchiladas, rice and beans....we bought tamales on Thursday from a lady that goes through our neighborhood selling them....she carries them in garbage bags (clean! I hope;))...and in a baby stroller...they must have had a lot of deleveries that day because the dad drove the car and their little girl handed them out...mom must have been home cooking.

Have a great week gals!!

Dennis's family is doing as well as can be expected, for now at least...thank you all again for your prayers!!

Good Morning!

I slept in today and am just finishing my coffee. We had a wonderful Christmas! It is so good to spend time with family and celebrate our Saviour's birth. My sis from Saskatchewan came too. It was a surprise for me. A wonderful christmas gift.

Today we're just relaxing. We want to see if we can finally get in to see "Walk the Line" and then we'll go visit DH's aunt who is house bound. It's so nice to have this time off!

I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas also.

Talk to you soon!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to peek my head in while I'm eating lunch!

So how was everybody's Christmas?

(Wilma - glad to hear that you got to sleep in! Isn't it the best? Gary - your Christmas feast sounds delicious! I've always wanted to try tamales.)

It was a pretty relaxing day for me and my husband. Christmas Eve, we went to my parents' house then midnight mass at my church. Afterwards we were full of energy so stayed up til 2:30 am opening presents! :present: I got some nice goodies, including a machine to make foamy, delicious lattes and hot chocolate :coffee2:, a tea set, and a Sudoku book. Father-in-law sent us some chocolate :chockiss: wrapped up in Christmas $! Very creative. I get to go shopping too! :carrot:

Christmas morning we slept in, and then got up to go to hubby's church. After that we had breakfast at 3:00 in the afternoon (nuts!) There was a small crisis when we lost the baking powder, which I needed to make homemade waffles, but we did find it. Four hours later it was on to Christmas dinner and our traditional viewing of A Christmas Story. Such a relaxing first married Christmas! :D

Have a great week everyone!

Hello Everybody,

Hope everyone had a great Christmas! Our whole family had the stomach virus except for AJ - I guess he will get it eventually -

Gary: I'm praying for Dennis' family. I'm glad he was a believer and he is with our Lord and Savior.

Have a great week everyone!

Good Wednesday AM group!
Lori, I'm so sorry to hear that all have been sick..boo! I pray for a speedy recovery in your house!
There's so much stuff in the air now days. My Doc once told me that here in Texas, the only thing between me and the bugs was a barb-wire fence..and if I breathe......I'll get it. I have been blessed to be flu free for 4 seasons tho and thank God for it. The scare of the past week was enough to wake me up and use precaution!

Wilma...sounds like a very nice Christmas at your place too and Sis coming in! I want a sister! LOL!
My friend Cissy was like one..until she hooked up with a controlling maniac. We won't discuss him much. At 50, when she met him, she'd never had to deal with one. Since I had been there/done that, it was easy for me to spot it and she thought I was just being mean. Life is full of choices and I've made a lot of bad ones myself. I am praying for release and renewal in the time ahead. For all in need of it.

Christina....WAY cool...all the goodies you got! And the fun time with family. I had hoped to do some after Christmas shopping but missed the boat. I saw on the news, the crowds and am kinda glad I did!

I am ready to clean house and put my life and surroundings in order today. I want to get my plan outlined for the year ahead and some goals/actions plotted. I'm thinking that within 6 months, exercise will be FUN..right? I look forward to seeing you guys here in the year ahead....
May you each be blessed best where needed most..today and each day of the New Year.

Bren

Blessings to all. I hope everyone is doing well and has had a wonderful Christmas. I am back at work. It is still quiet here. The guys are trying to use up their vacation time before the last day of the year. Use it or lose it. I say use it. It is supposed to really pick up in January though.

Gary-condolences to Dennis' family and friends. It sounds to me like he was suffering and now he is in peace. Prayers to all.

It has been busy at home the last few days. Lots of wrapping and unwrapping, baking and eating and ................. :tread:. I only missed 2 of the last 11 days and I am up to 20 minutes. I had to miss yesterday, because I took my son to get his drivers license :cp: and he passed. He drove around to a couple of places by himself and I had to say a huge prayer for God to station an:angel: with him to look over him at all times, cause most of you know what I mean. Now I have the 2 girls not far behind. But...........the best part is my hubby and I are talking about a new vehicle for me. Yeah. The kids can drive my 92 Nissan Sentra which has about 155,000 miles on it.

Gotta run. Till next time - y'all take care.

Happy New Year !!!

Hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas and looking forward to a glorious New Year! I too have been covering a lot of 'extra' shifts as several people are trying to use up their vacation also (use it or lose it here too) so lots of extra shifts for everyone else. Did about 60 hours last week, worked Christmas Eve, off Christmas Day (other than church and LOTS of family stuff, no rest ya know) and then back to work on Monday, didn't really seem like much of a break. I did take off this Friday though and that will give me a 3-day weekend. The only time I've had off since my DD has been out of school for C'mas break! Did start back on Sunday working out on the Gazelle every night and walked the past two days at lunch, not much but it's a start. Gotta jiggle this weight and get it moving off again!

We're in contract negotiations at work (YUCK!) and I've found out they are 'playing' with my seniority (I'm the most senior person here) and want to move me to a different classification and thus lose my seniority. Needless to say I'm not a real happy camper about where this may go.

I've been trying to keep up with everyone's posts, so many newbies it's great but still hard to remember who said what. Remember you are all in my prayers, even if I can't remember specifically who gave the request but our Good Lord knows each and everyone of us, whether I can remember the names or not!

It's 64 here today, a little overcast, rain moving in but such warm temps for us for the end of December! I think that's what helped me get out and walk at lunch too so I could enjoy the great weather!

Thanks EZ for remembering 'my' Bears, as always, if the Bears are in the Super Bowl - party's at my house! Hugs & prayers - Margie

Welcome, soybella716! This is a wonderful group of women and men (well man;)).

I'm just popping by for a quick second. Hope everyone had a darling Christmas!

Margie - sorry to hear about that, hope they don't move you.. why should they move someone who is obviously so good at their job? just doesn't make sense to me!

wilma12 12-29-2005 09:04 AM

Maria: Welcome! This is a great place to be for support.

Margie: I hope all goes well with your job. Why is it when they always want to move people so they don't have to pay them more instead of appreciating the hard work and hours you've put in for them and acknowledging that.

Beth: It sounds like you're doing great with your walking. Keep it up!! I know all about kids driving. The first time both my boys drove off the yard together I thought I would never see them again. They both drive well and I don't worry so much anymore.

Bren: I too need to clean my house! I have spruce needles everywhere and I'm ready to get the Christmas stuff put away. I did a bit of sewing this week and I'm anxious to put those things out.

The weather has been incredible this week. It's usually -20C here and it's only -2C. I guess Gary came through with his promise to send warmth up here. It does make it messy but the winter is going to be so much shorter with all this beautiful weather.

Gotta get to work. Only 2 more days til another long weekend!!

Have a great day!

Thursday Night

HI GALS:wave:

I hope everyone is doing well today. I was watching a college football game and it is pretty well over with an entire second half coming up...hope the one later tonight...the Holiday Bowl...is better. Had a short day today at work, actually I would have had the day off but...NOOOOOOOOO...my daughter's :barf: :barf: boyfriend:barf: :barf: ;) had to go and mess up the drywall on his grandparents vacation condo in San Diego...I had to go repair it. He was moving some furniture of his out and WHAMO...right into the wall. Of course I would just LOOOOVE to charge him  ..but that wouldn't be right? or would it! ...of course since the granparents let my daughter live there for free 6 months last year, while she finished college, I can't charge them :nono: Better yet I love the fact that now he OWES ME...for LIFE!!

I made a pot of chili for the week-end (lunches)...I made one last week too! Just love it when the weather gets cool enough here in sunny :sunny: Southern California for chili...my goodness this morning I swear it was in the high 50's  ...almost went looking for that pair of long pants I have stashed...almost ;)

I am making macaroni and cheese with black forest ham for dinner...I can do this since Angie is gone!! She never allows macaroni and cheese in the house...or FRIED CHICKEN!! two of my favorites...something about calories! and well, just the word FRIED is not allowed in our home :nono: ..ya don't suppose one of you could send me some nice hot fried :chicken: through the mail do ya?... didn't think so. Angie was gone yesterday too...I was all alone..:( ... :nono: so I had pizza :jeno: ...from Papa Murpheys where you bake it yourself..pretty good and cheap!

Angie is at her mom's for a few days, she took my-step daughter and nephew~~ my son is going out to dinner with his girlfriend's parents and grandparent's and my daughter is having dinner with her :barf: :barf:boyfriend:barf: :barf: so it's just me and my girls..Reba and Rylee....have to do something special since today is REBA'S number 2 BIRTHDAY!!:hb: ...oh boy...those terrible 2's...Rylee turns 2 next month..can't wait...more diggin'!!;)

WILMA~Complain~Complain!;) I was just trying to warm things up. Didn't mean to make it sloppy:nono: .....
