prayer request
Lateralus~ WOO HOO for you!!! Keep up the good work!
Move is going slowly, i'm overwhelmed, suppose to have a garage sale next Sat... i can't even think of it now. My mom is flying out and driving back with me, i'm so happy about that. But asking for prayers for my dear Mamacita. She was laid off work Friday, they outsourced her, going to have their purchasing done from New Zealand and she made too much money to move to another position...very shocking, she's never been let go. She's 61 years old, very young at heart, but i know she worries. She has a great attitude, she said that she knows that the Lord is taking care of her. Please pray for her though. |
Michele: I'm glad your move is going well. It'll be so nice for you to be close to family. Ours was a good move too. I am reaquainting myself with relatives again and enjoying it. I'll pray for your mom. That must be so hard. Hopefully with her experience it won't take long for her to find another job.
Rachel: I always wanted to be a teacher but life didn't work out that way for me. Good for you for choosing it. You'll do well! Have a great day! |
Michelle - prayers for your mother! I hope she's doing okay. Her situation sounds a lot like my mom's situation -- my mom recently got fired from a job she had been at for a long time that she was very good at, and she made too much money to get another one in Omaha and she had no college degree. She eventually found a job out of state, but I don't know about your mom's situation. Prayers for her definitely!
Wilma -- thanks for the congrats. Have your other DS found a job? Well, I'm off to eat lunch. Talk to you all later! |
Thank you all for prayers for my mamacita. She is doing well, handling it well. She may go back to school and get some training but not sure what in yet. Now all she has to worry about it spending THE WHOLE DAY with my dad. ;)

new member / wanting to join
Dear Donna and friends,
I just wanted to say that you guys seem to have a wonderful support group...if you have space for one more I would love to join you guys..to let you know a little about myself I am 27, I weigh 273 now, my start weight was 295. It seems like a lifetime ago but I used to work out all of the time, I was a collegiate athlete and I continuted to play sports professionally after college. You would think that some one who had played sports all of their life would be a poster child for working out and staying healthy. I hid it for a long time but I had always battled with my weight, binging and purgeing, batteling depression caused many riffs in the relationships with my family and friends. Doctors wanted to put me on anti deppresants but I refused to go on them. I turned to my Lord and Savior. I gave my life back over to the Lord 1 year ago this past August. The Lord delivered me from my eating problems but lately it has been sneaking back up on me. Over the past couple of months I have slipped a few times, but I can not let myself go down that road any more so I am. I rescently found this site and I think that it will be good because it wis a way for me to hold myself accountable. I thank the Lord that their is a place where believers can support each other because they understand the pulls and temptations that we go through. I have rambled on enough, I hope to hear from you and like i said would love to join your group if you'll have me. Thanks and God Bless You Tracey |
Hi Tracey! My name is Rachel, and I've been a part of this group for a few months. It really helps to know that you have people praying for you! I hope you really like it here. Hope to see you around! |

Hi folks!
Yes, before you all fall off your collective chairs yes it is me logging on after many months (with the exception of the Linus and :bb: news post) Nothing much has changed over here in Suffolk. Apart from the fact that I have lost the will to lose weight and I KNOW I have put several pounds on. I don't know how many as I am too scared to get on the scales... I am cross with myself as I was doing really well.I have no excuse really. I will get back to it..mind you I said that on the 1st September and now it's already the 21st!! I have really failed big time..... :tantrum: :tantrum:   The good news is that in July I started going to a new church...:cp: :bravo: I should have taken the plunge ages ago as it is a great spirit-led church and I have got to know a few people. The teacvhing is good and sound and they think nothing of cancelling the sermon because the worship is continuing in the power of the spirit. The other plus is that the church is exactly half the distance I used to travel to my old church...I have only missed 2 services since I started going which is far improved on the twice or three times I went to my old church in the whole of this year... Lateralus congratulations on getting so far as to get on the dean's list...God willing all will go smoothly in your new quest for a new life direction! Mitchypoo I am sorry to hear the news of mom. Gosh what a difficult time she has ahead of her. I hope this will not be the case and she will simple "fall" into a new job. How lovely that you will be living nearer to her! Especially at this time when she will need support from everyone. Good luck with the garage sale...its always good to have a clear-out! to Gary....what were you having a heated discussion about??Poor puppies!! They probably thought they were in trouble (again) Where is Sunny? Is she away somewhere? Wilma...I hope the asthma specialist is helpful to DS number 2 when he sees him next month. Well done for DS 1 for liming his job at Staples...its great that they are being helpful to him in letting him attend his course and have Sundays off..:cp: to them! Ok thats all from me. God Bless everyone...take care! Love from Teel |
Wednesday
HI GALS
I hope this finds everyone doing well. Things are pretty good around here...normal for us  ...yea right! Angie and I are thinking of selling...or trying to sell...the house in Washington..I am having second thoughts about living there...OF COURSE!...since we have owned it for a WHOLE 5 months or so. Needless to say my wife is just a little :spin: :nono: :spin: ...how do I say this?...a little upset with me  ...don't know  WHY  I mean after all what's a few thousand $$$$$ down the drain at our age right? Going back...this was not the point of our discussion last week...OH, and I did find out from Angie that IT WAS a FIGHT...I just THOUGHT it was a discussion. Are all of us guys really that....umm....lame? ;) Don't even answer ladies...I already know your answer! ;) I just threw "not wanting to live in Washington" into the mix while I was discussing and she was arguing...or was I arguing? not sure...but what I do know is that I was a whole lot :coach: LOUDER :coach: than her. The "fight" last week was about my dear step-daughter....not the first time Angie and I have been through this...we don't see eye to eye on issues that would bore all of you to death...she is a great kid...with a jerk for a dad...probably the biggest problem...it is a very loooooong story! Bottom line here...I get mad when she hurts my wife....my wife gets mad when I bad mouth her daughter...step-daughter gets mad when I "boss" her around...step-dad (me) gets mad when she doesn't do her "stuff"....but this will go on .....forever and a day!...between all of us I am afraid...however....even in our "faults"...we never give up!...just discuss...ARGUE...WHATEVER! :?:  Anyway...so Angie calls the real estate guy yesterday...this kind of floors me because we never really talked much about the "not living in Washington" situation since the other issue was going on with step-D...there is actually more to that story but too complicated to share...I figured there would be more to talk about. She calls me from school today....going straight to BUNKO after work...and tells me that she called the real estate guy yesterday and he called her back today saying he thinks he "SOLD" our house!...now I didn't even kniow she talked to him yet. I guess that he has a client very interested in our model...with a yard big enough for a pool (that's us!), in a cul-de-sac....again...that's us! Now keep in mind...things in this area of Washington are not selling all that well at the present....so what I am asking from all my 3FC CHRISTIAN ENCOURAGERS FRIENDS is PRAYERS that GOD'S WILL BE DONE! in this transaction....hoping it is a good thing for us and the future owners! The people have not seen our house yet, he will be taking them there tonight after work...he just says it has a ton of the requirements they are looking for....we shall see... :) Well, I have chicken with herb and garlic going into the oven in a minute...rice and veggies to follow that........ TEEL~ It is so great to have you back!! Great news on the church...sad about the weight loss...hang in there dear! we are all praying for you! As you can see the "fight" was not about those darn puppies  They are driving me nuts...but I wouldn't trade them for the world...although it sure would be nice to live in the house again without DOG SMELL!!! :faint:  SUE~ Prayers for carol and your neice! Enjoy your bagel...was it from Bruggers? TRACEY~ WELCOME! WILMA~ Prayers for youngest son! MICHELE Prayers for your mom! Well...off to finish dinner.......later, Gary |
Just a quickie
Greetings all....
This will be a quick message. I've still got tons of things to do before we hit the road. Living were we do we're constantly tracking the hurricanes. After what Katrina did we've decided to board up and move to a safer location. Hurricane Rita is our latest threat and it doesn't look good. :?:  We've decided to go visit the girls in Georgia...that should be far enough east! We hope to return on Sunday if all goes well. One thing's for sure: I've decided that I have to get more organized....so we know where everything is the next time. It's absolutely :dizzy: trying to find everyone's belongings. The girls have asked for the things that are most special to them. I've just about pulled every photo out of their albums to waterproof them. I do have a few special prayer requests: Please pray for my parents. My dad refuses to leave his home, he's 74 and has been in a state of depression for years. :dunno: Mom would like to come with us but feels an obligation to stay with dad. Mom's latest comment was..."All I can do is have a broom ready to sweep up all the glass. The whole of the back of their house is pretty much all 4'x8' glass panels. Dad's in such a depressed state that he can't be bothered to board up the windows. Pray for the Lord to change my dad's mind and at least take shelter in our home or at my brothers. Please pray for my two brothers who also live in Houston as they're planning on sticking it out in Houston. We had thought about staying but with the possibility of 100+ mph winds and being on the dirty side of the hurricane plus the potential for no elecricity for up to 2 weeks just isn't a pleasant thought. God will provide for whatever need we have when we return.....why put yourself through unnecessary harm if you don't have to. So we're taking the rabbit and heading east. Rachel ~ teaching is an admirable profession. My younger daughter is studying for her middle grades education degree. good luck on your studies and attaining your degree. Teel ~ Glad that you've found a good church. When we were living in England we had a terrible time finding a good church. They do exist but you have to hunt for them. I wish you well on getting back on track with your weight loss.... Well, got to run... If we can get to a computer while we're away I'll keep you posted....It's off to get the car serviced for the long drive..... :thanks: for praying for us! Take care my friends! Agape, karen |
Oh Karen~prayers for your family. I'm glad you are getting out of there. Special prayers for Dad...
Hi Gary~So you are a normal family and have all those normal problems too?...well, i'm sure you will work them out as a family. I bet it's tough with a blended family sometimes. And not moving to WA? What changed your mind? Your just a Southern CA guy, huh. Prayers for all... |
Good Morning!
Karen: My prayers are also with you and your family. I can't imagine what you're going through. Please let us know how you're doing when you can.
Michelle: What is the date of your move? Month end? I know how stressful it can be. My prayers are with you too. Gary: Your "discussion" was understandable. It's so hard to have blended families. I grew up in one and know the struggles that can come up. You and Angie have a great relationship and you'll make it work!! So you're going to stay in California. Good for you. Good luck on selling you home in Washington. It's lovely and shouldn't be a problem. Maybe this is a start to a career in house flipping!!?! Teel: So good to have you back here again. I'm so happy you've found a church you feel good about. It's a very important thing to be happy with where you're worshiping. Don't feel bad about the weight gain. Just get back on that wagon and carry on. It'll come back off! We're rooting for you! Sunny: WHere are you? We really miss you here. Please post just a little when you can. Let us know you're okay! Well, better get to work. It's Friday!!! Have a great one! |
PLEASE pray for my grandmother and my uncle, they are both trapped in Houston. My grandma has no hip sockets and uses an electric wheelchair to get around. They both have no land lines (only cell phones!) and are trapped in a ground floor apartment. PLEASE PLEASE pray for them!!!

Oh and they only have enough food for 4 or 5 days. :(
