♥ Christian Encouragers #200 ♥
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...yspringcat.gif :flow1: WELCOME! :flow1: You've found a great place to come and vent, share or ask for prayer support :) This is a great group who will be very encouraging, caring and loving... anyone is welcome to join! *~*~* A Servant's Prayer Jesus, MY Jesus... How marvelous your ways... Far more splendid than my mind can envision. What an honor to be chosen by you. A lowly child I am, but empowered by the Holy Spirit to fulfill the great hope to which you have called me. I give myself totally to you, Lord. Take my imperfect heart and make it perfect. Peel away the hardness. Close the doors I have opened to the temptations of this world. Gently remove the roots of painful memories, sins, doubts and fears. Discard anything that separates me from you. Lord, fill the emptiness with the light of your love that I might be a beacon calling the lost back to you. To love as you love... To serve as you serve... To heal as you heal... To forgive as you forgive... always mindful of my nothingness while doing great and marvelous things in you name and for you glory. This I pray, Jesus, in YOUR name. Amen *~*~*~*~*~*~* |
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...HUGS_Mouse.gif Here is a LINK to the last thread just in case anyone needs to catch up on some reading ;) We have been very busy lately :D Just click on link below: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/show...951#post824951 Later... SunnyD <>< *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* |
Busy has not been the word for our last thread, - it was wild, crazy, I don't know but we sure went through it fast! Just wanted to post you a quick note SunnyD and let you know I DID walk at lunch (a little late 'cause I watched the new Pope) but now I'm at 30.5 miles, :D - we're neck & neck, keep it up, I think we'll make it to 50+ miles!! :dizzy: Have to dispatch the rest of the day so I'm outta here- Margie
|
Habemus Papam! The new pope is Pope Benedict XVI!!! AKA Joseph Ratzinger! :D
|

new and desperate
Hi everyone!
I will start by introducing myself...I am Christy. I am a 41 year old mother of 2 sons.... 18 year old and a 9 year old. Married. I weigh about 190. i have been doing adkins but can not budge the scale. I was hoping to lose about 25 lbs by May 17th but in 2 weeks have not lost even 1. I am so dis couraged. Any tips, advice, suggestions are greatly appreciated. :( |
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...gCanLucian.gif to the thread... Christy! You are very close to my weight (note graph at bottom of my post)... what is your height? I myself am 48 :o --- & gettin' up there  no children... just 3 furry ones ;) (kitties) I shouldn't be saying much as far as advice goes with dieting... I myself seem to be at a standstill :?: and I walk 3 miles everyday and watch what I eat (have to for health reasons)... so I just keep on exercising and hope to see some results real soon ;) I have never done Atkins, but I have done the South Beach and found it to be one of the healthiest diets next to doing Weight-Watchers. My girlfriend swears by WW's... she is doing rather well on it. Maybe someone esle here can lend you a helping hand ;) Nice to meet you... SunnyD <>< *~*~*~*~*~*~* |
Without going back to the last thread to find out who posted the question re curves, but I did join for a year. For someone who is commited it probably would work out fine, but once I get in that car after work, it knows one place...home sweet home.
I do love the graphics. My goal is to figure it out sometime. I'll have to do it at home and not at work...maybe. welcome cbaumgardner...where are you from? 50 is my upcoming age this Sept. I have goals to reach before then...weight being one of them. Close to 80 degrees today here in Michigan :dizzy: I WILL walk tonight...I'm going to try for 40 minutes. Then I'm going to rake the front lawn tonight while DH is away so I can surprise him since he certainly can't get out there with his crutches. The dr. called DH today regarding the constant swelling of that foot of his. The Doc said to expect swelling for 9months to a year because of the damage that was done to the heel. Yikes! As for me...I am wonderful today. Not much sugar (only fruit) and I feel great. Mitchy...where are you sweet girl? Well, I just can't seem to get focused here at work today. I'll ck in tomorrow a.m. Hugs to you all! |
I'm here but i'm not feeling well....i've got the "mean reds" as Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany's would say. I didn't make it to work yesterday, today i'm in, but so behind and i had to hook up a new computer system (that's the only good news, i FINALLY got a new, decent system), but now i'm having to transfer data and do downloads, it's just ick.
Hello to all new people, God led you here, so i hope you come back soon and let us know how you are doing. Your experience is invaluable. This group is so wonderful! I love all my 3fc CE'ers. If i can be selfish and ask for prayer please, i'm really struggling and could use some prayer. |
MKay? I posted all the names you asked me for on the last thread... did you see it??? SunnyD <>< *~*~*~*~*~*~* |

WELCOME CHRISTY
OK...HERE IS MY TAKE ON THE NEW POPE...FROM WHAT I HEARD TODAY HE SEEMS TO BE LIKE THE LAST ONE...A MAN I ADMIRED...SO THAT IS GOOD... BUT I WON $10 FROM MY NEPHEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RIGHT AFTER THE LAST POPE DIED MY NEPHEW SAID "UNCLE GARY OUR NEW POPE IS GOING TO BE BLACK"...I TOLD HIM "WE (BEING LUTHERANS) DO NOT HAVE A POPE...THE CATHOLICS DO....BUT THEY NEED TO VOTE ON A NEW ONE WHEN THE TIME COMES. WELL, HE SAID THE NEWS SAID THE NEW POPE WOULD BE BLACK...I TOLD HIM THE NEWS DOESN'T KNOW...THEY ARE JUST TRYING TO STIR THINGS UP...HE MIGHT BE BLACK, BROWN, WHITE...WHATEVER...BUT THE MEDIA DOESN'T KNOW YET...THEN NEPHEW SAYS...''I'LL BET YOU $10 HE IS BLACK...FROM ETHIOPIA I THINK.."... DON'T KNOW WHAT I WILL DO WITH MY $10  |
OOPS>>> Just can't keep up anymore!
WELCOME ZOE!!!! |

Tuesday PM
:)Good Afternoon CEers!!! I'm finally home and trying to catch up on all the posts. Ya'll haven't made it easy for me today. :crazy:You had to pick today to be talkative!;) :dz:  Well, it has been crazy at work and dealing with fairly new RNS and people that I don't usually deal with. They have already hired three part time LVNS and they are going through training/orientation. But I will continue to work for them until they don't need me anymore. I may be tired and aggravated but I will be faithful and help them until they get through the crisis. One good thing is that I have been eating really well. I've been packing my lunch everyday and if it ain't in the lunchbox I can't have it. But, I'm having trouble with swelling in my lower legs again and need to be drinking my 8 glasses of water a day, which I am but may have to cut back. :?: I will probably go Friday to WI and hopefully that old iron demon will be nice :goodscale: Well, Rachel, did you have a good nap? Don't ya just love the graphics!!! I used to do it but it's too time consuming for me these days. :sunny: Yeah, Sunny . . . Congratulations on the THREE miles today and the THIRTY miles for April!!! I am walking but not near what you ladies are able to do on a regular basis. I try to get 1/2 to 3/4 mile on the treadmill and most days still end up with 3 - 4 miles altogether by the end of the day. But that really wears me out. It's really hard on my heart, pushing myself like that. :tread: Nursing is a crazy field. There is always a shortage in all phases of nursing! Thanks for starting the new thread! Glad to see you peeping in Jackay!;) Yeah, MargieB the Hot Pink is IN!!!! :cb: With me having two girls PINK is definitely an IN color in this house!! I do plan on taking lots of pictures. Congratulations on the THIRTY and a HALF miles for April!! You and Sunny are really Awesome!!! How do you like dispatching?? I have often thought I would like to do that if I wasn't nursing. Hey Wilma . .glad to hear that work is getting much better. Prayers going up for the teller that you are struggling with. Offering her food seems to work for a lot of people. ;) I pray that ya'll have the opportunity to work things out. Your Grand Rapids trip sounds GREAT!!! Hope you are able to get lots of R & R and enjoy your DH along the way. Hey Lynn. . . . . . . Hope you didn't over do it in the yard today. :workout: Doesn't it feel good to get it done though and have those muscles ache. Well, maybe not. ;) Yes, I'm on my way up that hill too. I will be 44 in July. I still don't think of myself as "OLD" but my kids do. Then I talk about a patient thats like 86 and they are like, man, that is old!! I'm a little less than HALF of that!! Is EVERYONE picking on you GARY?? Well, what will you do about it?? Well, how did your physical go? Can those ever really go well??? Hey Mary! So you will be the Big FIVE O in September huh??? Just keep walking up that hill and marching down that scale. :goodscale So sorry about DH and the swelling! He must have done a really good job of messing it up!! Prayers!!! Michele . . . sorry you are feeling badly! Prayers going up for you! Have you talked with Eric? Hope this finds you feeling all better! :bubbles: WELCOME CHRISTY!!!! I hope you like it and stay around here. These folks are the GREATEST!!! You have a major gap just like me. I have two daughters - 17 (18 in June) and 8. Is your household as crazy as mine? HAVE A GREAT EVENING!!!! |

Wednesday Dieter's Devotional
This is today's devotional found at www.crosswalk.com APril 20 Ephesians 5:15-16 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. A friend of mine always said, 'If we would only spend time doing what we know we should, there wouldn't be any time left over to do the things we know we shouldn't.' Simple truth, but hard truth to follow. When we diet, it is helpful to engage in activities that will prevent us from having the time to eat or even think about food. One person I knew joined a number of volunteer organizations, just so he would be too busy to eat all the time. We need to redeem the time that we spend in fattening endeavors, and turn instead to activities that are pleasing to God. Today's thought: The busier I keep myself, the thinner I get! |

http://www.gbfarms.com/GBF_News/Stra...gel%20cake.jpg Have you ever told a white lie? You are going to love this especially all the ladies who bake for church events. *~*~* Alice was to bake a cake for the church ladies' group bake sale, but she forgot to do it until the last minute. She baked an angel food cake and when she took it from the oven, the center had dropped flat. She said, "Oh dear, there's no time to bake another cake." So, she looked around the house for something to build up the center of the cake. Alice found it in the bathroom ... a roll of toilet paper. She plunked it in and covered it with icing. The finished product looked beautiful, so she rushed it to the church. Before she left the house, Alice had given her daughter some money and specific instructions to be at the bake sale the minute it opened, and to buy that cake and bring it home. When the daughter arrived at the sale, the attractive cake had already been sold. Alice was beside herself. The next day, Alice was invited to a friend's home where two tables of bridge were to be played that afternoon. After the game, a fancy lunch was served, and to top it off, the cake in question was presented for dessert. Alice saw the cake, she started to get out of her chair to rush into the kitchen to tell her hostess all about it, but before she could get to her feet, one of the other ladies said, "What a beautiful cake!" Alice sat back in her chair when she heard the hostess (who was a prominent church member) say . "Thank you, I baked it myself." This is just too cute ~ had to post it! *~*~*~*~*~*~* |
Thanks for your support. Hey has anyone read the book ..... Your Best Life Now by Joel Osteen. Wow it's really good. It has made me take another look at my life.
Everyone have a great day. |
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...rgroupdogs.gif Andrea! Ignore that man (EZmoney) behind the curtain  Sooooo you are getting Married next June :smug: To begin with... Congrats on your recent engagement!! :cloud9: How exciting!!! How long have you known one another? What is his first name? May I? I think that if you remember to take "baby steps" as you pass though your day (getting through... moment-by-moment) and not think of the "whole" of it all, YOU WILL get that weight off by next June with no problem. If you think anything like I do when it comes to losing wt... it overwhelms you at the thought of losing that much, but if you just take one day at a time, one moment at a time, making good decisions - not only will you lose the weight, but you will gain self confidence and a self esteem - what a bonus :flow1: Baby steps... I have to tell myself that as each day passes ~ as I take my 3 mile walks in the morning and see no wt-loss (since 12-04) that it's okay :) I WILL eventually! :crossed: As long as I continue to make better food choices and continue to exercise. I am healthier :df: I think I wrote all that more for ME then you  You will do well, Andrea... just take it in small steps making small goals to meet each day - whether it's with food or exercise choices. Do it FOR YOU and not the wedding day, otherwise it will fill you with anxiety & slow you down... you CAN do it :D And even if you only lose 1/2 the wt... that 1/2 less then you were :smug: Okay... I am all done  :coach: Sunny is finished for the day  Be quiet Gary! :dz: I hear your brain... Again... Welcome! We do hope you will stop in again :bubbles: *God Bless* SunnyD <>< *~*~*~*~*~*~* |
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...D57/AN-Hi2.gif Christy... Good Morning :) I have heard of the book... allot lately, but no, I haven't read it. Sounds like one I need to go out and buy  ;) How are you today? SunnyD <>< *~*~*~*~*~*~* |
Good Morning!
WOW! I just posted a day ago and look at what's been going on around here. All the newbies!! LOVE IT!!! Welcome to all of you.
Someone on the last thread asked about Curves (I can't remember who. I think my memory cells have joined Gary's somewhere. ) I went to Curves for 1 1/2 years and really enjoyed it. It's a great workout and I lost inches going there. I just found it hard to get there during their hours which in some places are very limited. I find it much easier just to go walking or do my Walk Away the Pounds DVD's in my house. I agree with Sunny's advise about baby steps. It's taking me forever to lose my weight but I'm making a lifestyle change and not going on a diet. I have been losing for the last 5 years and have kept it off. I feel better than I ever have. It's about being healthy for me. The weight loss doesn't hurt either. Sunny: Love the story. I can just imagine her face when she tries to cut into the TP.  Sherry: You're in my prayers today. Be safe! I hope each of you have a great day! |
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...daybunnies.jpg Good Morning Everyone!!! Well... it looks like another beautiful day today... but I think the rain :rain: will be coming soon, as I am watching the skies get darker as I write this. That's okay... we need it and at least it held off long enough for me to get in my walk this morning of 3.25 miles :D With a new total of 33.25 for April. :sunny: *~*~* Hello Zoe, You should be very proud of your DS, Brian!!! I am so happy to hear that he made it home from Iraq safely :cp: You sound so very proud of your children and grandchild... and rightly so. It's nice to hear all about you :bubbles: Now... you said your birthday is in February... when in February? Mine is the 8th... are you close ;) As for the ticker tracker... I think if you just click on any one you see here, it will take you there so you can have one too ;) Hi Wilma!! :D Busy here... isn't it :o Spring has Sprung  Glad you enjoyed the chuckle  Great news Rachel!!!! :bravo: W :o W!!! Down 6 lbs... awesome! Keep up the good job! You have good results in other areas of your phy. exam I take it... :D Gary??? Gary who???? Glad to hear that your physical went well! You are so bad... ... :D Thanks Sherry! Boy... you have been on early these days... trying to get in those Devotionals before you begin the day, huh. Well, we are grateful for them and the time you take to post 'em :flow1: Have a good day now... I will keep you in my prayers! By-the-way... I hope you will post some pictures when your DD's dress is finished and she's wearing it ;) I know I'd love to see  *~*~* *Hello's to all our MIA's... prayers are being said for you ;) * Well gang... I have other people to visit... places to go.... things to be done... Ta... SunnyD <>< *~*~*~*~*~*~* |
Ok...Who's coming to Grand Rapids? Is that Michigan? That's exactly where I live! NEVER MIND... I went back to prior posts and Wilma is going to Grand Folk, ND...something like that. Oh well, thought I'd get some company. :(
Andrea...Welcome...My daughter is getting married June 2, 2006...Friday night (cheaper than Saturday...lots cheaper) Sunny and lateralus98...I absoutely LOVE all the graphics...they are so fun and just so cute. I love the mice knitting. Sunny...good for the walking. I walked last night but not too far. Took Nikki to the doggy store. She loves it there. Yes, I received the list and I love it that I have added to it already. EZ...I felt a little bad that I was sorta hard (tone wise) with the gals from the diet group UNTIL...I received a thank you card in the mail yesterday with one of the ladies thanking me for making her accountable and "policing" her. Amen! I WILL be there for them...supporting them...it seems to come easier for me...givin' the Glory to God! It's when I keep up with reading the Word...that's when it comes easier for me. Michele...You can know that I am praying for you and hugging you sweet cheeks! Zoe...I fly into W Palm whenever I go see my sister in Stuart, FL. I LOVE Florida. I love to snorkel and just enjoy the brighter skies and colors...I live in Michigan...everything is either green (summer) or grey (winter). Smiley...Yeah, 50...I don't mind, I just have some goals I MUST try to accomplish. Well, I must get to work today...I just wasn't focused yesterday, so I didn't get too much accomplished. Prayers for all of you and those I didn't mention. Hugs and More Hugs :grouphug: |
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...s4-13-text.gif Ohhh Wilma... I forgot to ask you... how did the lunch go with your teller friend? Did you get everything worked out :?: Hi MKay  It's soooo good to see you :) So happy you are enjoying all the pics :D Thanks for the encouragement in my walking... I am sure tryin' :df: So glad to hear that you got out, even if it was a short walk, better then none at all... right :smug: How is your hubby, Gary, feeling these days? Is he doing any better? How's that puppy doing :^: What kind of dog is she again??? I have forgotten :sorry: I bet Nikki DID enjoy the trip to the store :bubbles: I'm glad you got the list... I forgot to post the birthdates (for Margie B) :o Gonna try to do that today :D Later... SunnyD <>< *~*~*~*~*~*~* |
You all are wonderful! Thanks!
I am so thankful for all of you here in our forum.
I am in my 4th great day and I even walked again yesterday. What a miracle. I went around my block twice yesterday. It's felt so good. 1 and 5/10 of a mile. I am so thrilled. Thanks! Virginia |
I did my ab longe last night but didn't get home until 10:00 so it was to dark to walk....maybe tonight. Soes any one have any tips for breaking a stall?
|
cbaumgardner...Breaking a stall? :?: I you mean a lull in the road to success...prayer prayer and more prayer. Scripture, scripture and more scripture. Do you use your ab lounger much? I have one and I use it for a clothes line to dry my nicer things. :o
Sunny...Dr. called G yesterday because he's been calling them concerned about the swelling that comes the minute he gets up on the crutches. The Doc said it will probably swell for the next 9 months to a year due to the severity of the injury. I feel so badly for him. Nikki was bad today though, she was at the neighbors in the back wooded area too close to a busy street. She's in her kennel for the afternoon. Nikki (Nikita Girl) is a yellow lab with a fox reddish coloring. momof10...yes, it is nice to be here will everyone and congrats on your success in getting out walking. |
ab lounge
I use my ab lounge 3 to 5 times a week. I can tell some difference. My whole family is using it....... 9, yr old, 18 and husband. ????????????? I am surprized that any of us use it. LOL Thanks for the advice I think sometimes we think asking God for helping in weight loss is too triveal. (SP?) Thanks Christy

Can I get a word in here???
Man this is really a busy thread these days and I'm lovin' it. All the sharing and support.
Zoe - glad to hear you son made it home safety from Iraq. :D I have a nephew, Adam, currently serving with the National Guard there, called up for 18 months and still has about 12 still to go. Wilma - glad to hear your work is going better, hope all is going better with the teller. Enjoy your R&R, it's always good to get away and re-charge, even if it's just for a few days. I agree with you that my walking time is my only 'me' time, it also generates good endorphines which make you feel happier! SunnyD - dear lady, your graphics are adorable. :D They just keep getting cuter! I can tell that you've been feeling a whole lot better just by the difference in your posts. Whatever it is you're doing, - keep it up. :smug: The 33.25 mi. walking is GREAT except I can feel your breath on the back of my neck with each step, I walked at lunch and am now at 34.6, so see, you're just about two steps behind me. . . By the way, see if you can't send us some of that rain, a little better than two weeks now without a drop! Brush fires are bad. cbaumgardner - Christy - WELCOME. The only suggestion I have to 'jiggle' your weight and get off that plateau, which we all hit, is to either UP the exercise a little or DOWN the portion size (just for a day, perhaps two) just a little. :^: That may help, - good luck. mkay - good to see you back, hope you're doing better today. ;) Sorry about DH and swelling problems, we'll keep these in our prayers and you as well. mitchypoo - feel better girl, we're a missin' ya around here. :( Perhaps with the new computer system we'll hear from you a little more often?? How's the Yarn Cafe going? Hope all's well. EZ - 10 extra bucks, --- hmmmm, considering how you got it, :s: perhaps the offering plate would be the best place for it??? Glad to hear your physical went well. MrsSmiley - Glad to hear they've gotten you some help at work, - just hope it doesn't work you out of a job. Sounds like you've been sticking to your eating plan as well. :D I carry my lunch also almost every day. I just get tired of the fast food junk and the prices. 'Brown bagging' is much cheaper and healthier (if you pack it right!). Good job on 3-4 miles/day, even if it's broken up between regular walking/work/treadmill/whatever, it's still good. Ya gotta keep moving. I do enjoy dispatching, I've been here since our 9-1-1 system started up (9 yr). We've had some pretty freaky calls, just like everyone I guess, but I really hate the 'kid calls', you know, latch key kids, missing children, Amber Alerts, the little ones are just so innocent I don't like anything happening to them, even though I know I can't protect them all. . .but on the other hand there are calls where you know that you've really helped. :) Andrea464 - Welcome. What part of NC are you in? We're (my DD, Mom, Dad & I) are going to the Outer Banks at the end of school. . . is this near you? Congratulations on your engagement, stay with your diet/exercise, little by little is good without too much expectation. What are you considering as your short term goal for the 25 lb? 3-4 months maybe? Rachel - Congratulations on your weight loss. Six pounds is great for one week, - you go girl! :D I noticed your tracker and your goal is VERY manageable, keep reaching, - you'll get there soon! momof10 - Virginia - YEAH, I was so happy to read your post that you've gotten a little more 'me' time, :D even if it is just 2x around the block. As moms we just continue to give and give, we need to realize we need to take care of ourselves once in a while too. :p Keep it up. Okay, now my little bit of bragging on me, - I said in the last thread that I had re-dedicated myself to doing this and getting the weight off, etc. Well, I'm down five pounds since Sunday! Hopefully those are five pounds that I'll never see again! :) I feel better about myself for continuing the walking, almost every day (thank you SUNNY for helping inspire/motivate me) :) and just feel like I'm really going to do it this time. Anyway, hope everyone has a great Wednesday - Margie |
