  • Thank you all again for continuing to keep Amy and her beautiful babies in your thoughts...her update today was MUCH more hopeful:

    Quote:
Thank you everyone for your posts asking about Sydney. I am proud to report that she had a good day today. Yesterday, she was given a medication through her vent that had a possibility of working or not working. Turns out, that Sydney took to it, and today, her vent settings were turned down to 59% from 100% and her stats were very good. Her urine output increased, which tells us her kidneys are hanging in there. She is truly a fighter. She is using all her might to overcome this and my heart just melts when I am near her and see that little body taking all of this on. Dr's say that we will continue to watch and wait to see what she continues to do. They are somewhat still guarded, but very happy with her progress.
Camden and Sadie continue to do well, they are so active and spunky. They have been both been known to pull out their tubing or kick themselves out of a swaddle.....
Thank you for all of your prayers and support. It helps me so much!
  • mandalinn, thanks for keeping us posted.I will continue to pray for Amy and her precious babies.
Her story reminds me of a neighbor, a lady now in her eighties. She has a twin sister but has explained that she was born a triplet, two girls and a boy. Her brother did not survive and the two girls were raised as twins and lived a long and healthy life.
  • AMANDA ~ so glad to hear that little Sydney is doing better; and prayers continue for her siblings and mommy too.

RONNIE ~ seems GOD is working in your mother's life; will continue prayers that she keeps her word and takes her meds, which she needs to be fully well. Prayers for you and your DH on your trip -- glad you are able to go with him. Sometimes, letting the chicks fly on their own for a little while teaches them more responsibility: it's good practice anyways ...
  • Rosebud- I'm so glad that you had a good trip and that you've returned home safe and sound. I thank God for you. Reading your thread on emotional eating has helped me tremendously. Thank you for being awesome.

Mandalinn- Thank you for keeping us updated on Amy and her precious family. We continue to pray for her strength in the Lord and for the ever increasing good health for those sweet babies.

Bootsie- Thank you for your encouragement and prayers. I'm still job hunting, but I'm believing and trusting that God will do a great work for me and in me so that I will prosper so that I can help others to prosper. Things are sometimes troubling and frustrating, but I'm trusting in Him and holding on.
  • Melissa, things are sometimes troubling and just plain down right frustrating in my life , that is when I ask Jesus for special angels to guide me with wisdom and insight , gee today is one of those days. I think the planets are out of whack today, for my friends and I are having a couple of those days pray it is better tomorrow. I pray Jesus gives you some angels with wisdom and insight that guide you to that special career job, Melissa it may be a job a blessing in disguise where you are needed badly. You hang in there girl! I hope you stick around here also.
  • THANKS, MELISSA ~ I am so glad that you and others are helped by the Emotional Eating Thread -- still living and breathing that myself each day. We've been under a lot of stress here too, so we really know how you feel. I could use some help in the finance area as well; sending up prayers for you that the LORD will guide you to a position where you will be an awesome blessing to all those around you ...

BOOTSIE ~ I prayed your prayer to JESUS for angels of help and insight and wisdom; plus patience and peace too. I sure can use that today myself. We have really been bashed around lately (see my latest post in June Encourager's thread for more info). My legs are hurting from the chemo but the LORD gives me strength to fight on; really having to watch the emotional eating -- what a battle these days for sure. After that sad phone call, I kept telling myself, "You are not going to eat your sadness; repeat; repeat; repeat." So we just had soup and a sandwich for dinner; nice & light!!!

PRAIZE GOD -- my last chemo will be next Tuesday if the blood platelets get back up high enuff. GRACIE made it through her surgery and all is well so far; we pray for a quick & complete healing for her. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS FOR MY FAMILY & I ... they are so appreciated by all of us ...
  • Rosebud so glad you had a good time and are back safely. Praying that all goes well with chemo, last one, Praise God. ! I continue to pray that this finacial situation be cleared up so that you can be back in charge of your own affairs.
Monday I go in for a bone scan. the purpose of this is to see if there has been advance, last lab work showed a light increase, Oncologist didn't seem to worried , though but he did order the bone scan.
  • Bargoo-Praying for good results from the bone scan.

Prayers for all other needs, as well.
  • THANKS, BARGOO ~ ^PRAYERS^ going up for that bone scan on Monday; we pray all will go well and that you will stay in complete remission. You are such a great blessing to us all here: such a wonderful prayer warrior and supporter as well ...
  • Thank goodness it is the last one Rosebud, I hate you even having to go through this praying for you. Also praying for the bone scan Bargo Monday. praying for everyone else also tonight and Rosebud things are better today, thank you and the dear Lord.
  • THANKS BOOTSIE -- I am feeling better, esp emotionally. A social worker is going to help me fill out the trusteeship forms when they come. My legs were better yesterday: it's the chemo meds affecting the nerve ends in my skin and muscles, plus the swelling. I am taking .5 of a water pill to help that as well.

BTW, I found this wonderful, hope-filled song this morning. It is called TURN YOUR EYES UPON JESUS -- look up; and beautifully sung by Nicole Nordeman. Have a listen everyone ...

EDIT2ADD: we were talking to my DAD this afternoon and our stepmother, GRACE, is back at home now. She is on pain meds yet and has a bladder bag (not sure what they are called though), but she is hanging tough. She is concerned about getting through the chemo rounds later on, so I know she would appreciate prayers for that. I'll let you know when they start. My DAD's MRI is on June 20th (took him a while to get it scheduled) to see what is going on there before they set a surgery date. DAD said that at least they have time in between so they can look after each other as they go through these surgeries and treatments. THANKS FOR YOUR PRAYERS EVERYONE -- we appreciate them so much ...
  • Prayers sent up for all concerns.
  • THANKS, DEE -- I went to my oncologist appointment and we had a good day. The tests came back OK. My blood platelets were 104, just high enuff to let me do the chemo tomorrow; so that will start early -- about 8 AM. It will be a long day, but it is exciting that it is the last one.

ALSO, the doctor told me that everything has gone well -- just how they had hoped. He said 100% and then some ... Plus they both said that I had done marvellously with the chemo and it did what it was supposed to. The best news of the day is that we are now free to go home as soon as I have my last chemo tomorrow.

He will get my personal physician to monitor my blood for the next 4 months, then we will come back south for about a week or so, for a follow-up exam and tests to make sure everything is OK and nothing has changed. Then I will have regular check-ups every 6 months after that for about 2-3 years to be on the safe side. I am so glad of that ...

I will just stay long enuff to get those forms filled out then my BIL and brother will take us back home very soon. We are both very happy about that. My aunt says that our grass is getting too long and we have to find someone to do it for us when we get back.

The DA said she was amazed at how I was able to deal with so many issues at the same time; and I told her that it was my FAITH that has carried me through it all, and will continue to as well. She said that she could understand that and hoped everything works out. Actually the doctor said that as well. All of them have been great to work with through the whole process and I am so thankful for that.

SO .... I need lots of prayers once again for my chemo day tomorrow for a good day and minimal side effects too. THANKS EVERYONE -- I know your prayers have been answered totally throughout this journey and you all have been such an encouragement to me ...
  • Rosebud-
Praying for your final day of chemo to be a good one and no side effects.
  • Asking for prayer for a young friend of ours. Her whole family are good friends, from grandparents to little sisters. Jenny, 20 years old, had a bad car accident over the weekend. The car rolled 3 times and landed on top. She had to walk 1/2 mile after breaking out the window to get help. She broke her pelvis. She had been sent home yesterday, but collapsed this morning and had to be taken by ambulance back to the hospital. Please pray for healing and for discernment for the docs to make sure they haven't missed something.
