Hi Everyone!

It has been a long time since I have posted on this site. I'm back and going to do my best to keep in contact.

A lot has happened in the past year, but it has been a good year. Jakob our oldest graduated from high school, DS2 will soon be driving and DS3 will be in 9th grade this year.

I hope all of you have been doing well and I look forward to catching up with everyone.

Kathy

back, KATHY ~ glad to see you rejoin us here again; sounds like you and yours have been busy. Maybe quieter now that summer is here, or maybe not ...

THANKS, GARY ~ the service was really nice; one of the best I have been to in my life, actually ... lots of humor (my uncle TOM had a great sense of humor and they recounted some of his favorite one-liners). I am glad there was such an upbeat atmosphere too.

One of the things that impressed me so much were all the people from that church that showed up (even children; kinda felt sorry for them) who really didn't know our family that long or well, but they showed up anyways. I kept thinking ... that I am sure there was something else they would have preferred to do on a pleasant Friday morning, so I prayed that GOD would bless them all for their kindness.

Also, one man named WILLARD kept visiting my uncle and witnessing to him until he finally got him to say the Salvation Prayer -- that was so great. He kept asking TOM if he was ready to meet Jesus yet? I will remember Willard for that (not giving up, I mean); and for reciting the 23rd Psalm to TOM as well. May GOD bless Willard for his persistance ... (Note: the reason this meant so much to me was that I had prayed that the LORD would send a bold Christian man to witness to Tom while he was in the hospital and He did!)

We had a good day; got some nice perennial flowers, bushes, and trees for half price today and we planted some after dinner (until the buggies got too bad). I bought two choke cherry bushes, but when I googled info about them, I discovered that they and the purple leaf sandcherry bushes can grow into anything from a very, very large bush to a tree ... ... whoops! Now, where to put them??? Oh dear ...

Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend; take good care ... Rosebud

Thanks Rosebud for the Welcome back. The summer is still busy because my 2 boys are lifting everyday and school and on some of those days they have football practice. Never a dull moment but that's what keeps us young. Right?!

I would appreciate if you would pray for my niece Jennifer. She is going through a very hard time right now. She has a decision to make that if she makes the decision she wants to her mom will not be happy with her and may not talk to hear. I love my sister, but I feel bad how she is treating her daughter. Pray for my sister as well.

Today was a great day. Work went well and I'm having a nice evening with my husband.

Have a great night!

Kathy

YOUR WELCOME, KATHY ~ sending up some prayers for your neice and her mom too ...

We got the rest of our perennial flowers planted today, or so we thought; then we discovered that we had 4 extra Brown-eyed Susans left so we will take them and the choke cherry bushes/trees up to our lot and plant them there this week sometime. I am getting better at this; had 4 planted and was resting while DH was on his third ... it's great exercise too.

Tonight had to take it easy though; had a nice dinner of sirloin steak with cob corn, mushroom medley, and a small romaine salad -- very nice. I have been feeling a bit bloated lately, and having a tiny little jabby pain in the top of my stomach the last few days -- am praying that the LORD will heal that and it is nothing serious ...

We had some rain yesterday and last night; woke up to no hydro but as the day wore on ... the lovely came out for us and it turned out to be like a nice spring day, only in summer ...

Take good care everyone ... Rosebud

THANKS, BOOTSIE ~ one of my brothers told me the same thing -- I recall trying to comfort him all throughout his forties (reassuring him over and over : "You're not dying, you're not dying, I promise!). Now, I am the one who needs encouraging, so I read the Psalms and of course, I am grateful for friends like you all here. I keep telling myself ... it's nothing bad, just the aches & pains of old(er) age ... (well, as long as it doesn't last too long or get any worse, that is).

BTW, our BIL, TOM M. is back at home and feeling much better; thanks for your prayers for him ...

cookielvr -- I agree with BARGOO, that is a cute avatar ... and my DH is a cookielvr too, but he's nice and skinny anyways cuz he walks and bikes a lot these days. Oh, and what part of CANADA do you hail from?

I did really well on my NO JUNKIES JUNE CHALLENGE ... today is the last day and I DID IT!!! No chippies, no nachos, etc, etc, etc! YEAH!

You know, I was having all kinds of trouble with my IE (Internet Explorer) this week, so I switched over to Mozilla Firefox; and I haven't had any problems since then -- plus everything is working so much better on my PC too!!!

Got some walking in today as we went shopping and I picked up some wool to do some more crocheting; I am finding that it really helps keep my hands busy so I am less likely to munch ... yeah again!!!

Boy was it busy uptown today; as Thursday is our country's birthday, so therefore a holiday, everybody was in the store and the stuff was flying off the shelves. DH was worried we wouldn't get any eggs as they were getting low, but I did manage to get some and I'm sure they must have had more in the stock room ...

Anyways, I have to go make dinner now; something with lean hamburger -- probably creole patties (with chopped tin tomatoes) with green beans and a salad on the side ... one of my favorites. Doing well on my plan this week; hope you all are too. Take good care ... Rosebud

Hi, everyone! I can't believe how long it's been since I posted. I have been lurking and keeping every one of you in my prayers, though. We've been so busy-took a vacation to the Black Hills, getting DS2 ready for college , trying to get a new large flower garden dug (in between day after day of thunderstorms), and too much stuff going on. And, you all can see from my slider at the bottom, that I've been doing terrible with my eating-evenings are just awful. I know it's still emotional, but I'm trying to get a grip. Doesn't help that every other day something comes in the mail for my dad-hospital bills mostly. Don't know when they're going to finally get the idea that dad had no money when he died, but I keep sending notes back to remind them.

Anyway, I'm back and I'll say a big WELCOME to our newbies! Hope you're all having a great week!

Thanks everyone for praying for my niece and her mom, my sister. Please continue to keep them in your prayers. My niece is doing better, but still needs God's wisdom in this situation she is facing right now. I'm so thankful that I serve a God we can take our needs to knowing he will answer. In his time, of course!!

This has been a good week. I haven't gotten much in the way of exercise in though I did take the dog for a 20 minute walk last night. Getting up early in the morning to walk has been hard, but it's time I get back into the routine.

I trust you all are having a great week.

May God's presence be close to you!

Kathy

About 3 times I have tried to post and where oh where did it go? Geeeeee! I hope this makes it! Welcome Cookieluvr! Welcome back Kathy and Ronnie I sure have missed your post! You hang in there girl life is hard but I am learning problems in our lives makes us stronger and we learn how to deal with them. I bet there is someone out there that has been in your position on getting bills for past loved ones that had no money, they may know how to handle it.

You know the best thing I ever done was turn my brother over to Our Father, since then everything has been turning out for the good for my brother, I was standing in Gods way, trying to help my brother. Well I will try to get this posted,
Kathy praying for Jennifer and family here in Texas!

We just got back home from our CANADA DAY fireworks display which was exceptional this year ... well, it is our 100th birthday anniversary so it was a special one. We took our dear NIKO with us and he just curled up in a ball in the back seat and slept through the whole thing ... I guess he is just so used to DH's bang'em up and shoot'em up movies and loud musac that nothing bothers him anymore ...

RONNIE ~ still sending up some prayers for you; eventually, you will find your way back to where you want to be ... all in good time.

TIP: Maybe you could type up a standard response letter for those requests for your Dad, then have a bunch photocopied and whenever you receive a request, just pop one of your prepared form letters in an envelope or do this ahead -- then just address it and mail it out.

The weather was just right for a summer day; in the mid-70's all day long with and a nice breeze. Hope you all had a great day; take good care of yourselves ... Rosebud
