Same here! I got the workbook too. I am hoping this will be like an online *group* for discussion.

When you go to the first page of the Eden Diet Site; on the right side, you will see a picture of the book. And it says below it, "LOOK INSIDE" ... click on that and that is the first chapter of the book. It comes up in a PDF file; wait for it to upload and on the left top you'll see a DISC that saves the file; click on that and it will save the PDF file in your PC where you tell it to.

I hope you find it; sounds like that book is getting popular all of a sudden.

Great book! I've been using the apple test on my kids for years. When they want a snack I tell them to have an apple or some carrots. If they say no, they weren't that hungry to begin with. Now, I have 2 teenagers who will eat the carrots, apples and everything else that is not nailed down!

Sunshine thanks for sharing. I remember doing the Weigh Down Workshop around 20 years ago at Church. I helped me rethink everytime I ate, and 'why' I was eating. I also loved Weightloss God's Way, which helped me lose alot of weight a few years ago. I still have some to lose and may order this book also. I just need to keep at the forefront - am I worshipping food or God? I should look to Him for comfort, not food.

Thanks again for sharing!

I am in chapter 3 now and it is a great book. I'm doing the 7 day challenge and will start the 30 day block on April 1st. It is a really great addition to my Intuitive Eating plan. Yesterday I ate only when I was hungry and may have eaten a little past satisfied but not full. She says hunger pangs are given to us by God so we would know when to eat and when we are satisfied. She also says that when you want a particular food to eat but you are not hungry yet that you can wait until you are hungry and then eat it, but only eat as much of it as you need to feel satisfied.

Later.

I'm sorry Bootsie, I don't remember much about Weigh Down. Maybe someone can answer that.

My books came yesterday and I was able to get through chapter 1 today. I will try to do the 7 day challenge and read the entire book through.

I just finished reading chapter 4 "Rediscover Your Hunger Signals" and it is very helpful info. Helped me to understand more about how Intuitive Eating works. I found it interesting to learn that when we allow ourselves to feel the hunger signals that our stomach is able to shrink because when our stomach is stretched it cannot always feel hunger because it becomes numb to the signals. However, she explains that we should never allow ourselves to get too hungry either.

She also explained about the Apple Test vs the chocolate cake. Basically in a nutshell if you are hungry enough to eat the apple then eat the cake or whatever it is that you are wanting to eat. You just don't eat it until you are hungry enough that you would eat the apple. However, she said some people could binge on apples so you may need to find some of other food to test instead of an apple like maybe celery that you would only eat if you were really hungry. So far the book has been really helpful to me. I am more at peace with what I eat. Not having any cravings any more.
