HAPPY (late :sorry:) BIRTHDAY ROSEBUD!
:bday2you: |
:D THANKS FOR THE NICE BIRTHDAY WISHES EVERYONE, GARY, COUNTING, RONNI, and ...
RONNI ... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU TOO!!! :bday2: :wel3fc: to AZCANDY & BLESSED2BME ~ glad to have you both join us; yes, this group is very nice and supportive. Had a busy day shopping for fruit and such; laundry, and arranging for utility transfers; still much more to do. DH wants to up to the lot this week to check on things and spend the day for fun; hope the weather co-operates. It's pretty chilly here tonight -5C and we had a fairy sprinkling of the ***flluffy stuff*** last night. We were hoping that GOD would hold it off until we move; hope the weather warms up a bit over the next two weeks, while we do some more packing too. Time for bed, take good care, your fellow encourager :hug:ROSEBUD  ^^PRAYERS^^ are ascending for you and yours ... |
Russki Mama - :welcome: We LOVE new folk around here! Come back and post often and let us know how you are doing :)
Ronnie - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! Rosebud - good luck with your packing! Hi to everyone else! Laurie |
Quote:
Either way ~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :celebrate: |
Not much going on around my house. Work, eat, sleep!! We have a shortage of staff so my days fly by and I come home so tired. Thank goodness I don't have little children to look after anymore. I don't know how young working moms do it.
Rosebud: A very belated birthday to you. Also, I'm very happy to hear you found a place to live. God is Good! Ronni: Happy birthday to you also. Hello to everyone else!! Hope you all have a great day! I'm off to another busy day at work. |
Blessed2bme - :welcome2: This is a great place for support. I would not be losing again if it were not for these wonderful people, so come and visit often!
Counting-thanks for the b-day greeting. I would love to have one of those magazine yards with all the flowers in the front yard. That would be so cool! Hope you enjoyed your hiking. We've still been having nice weather here (cool, but clear and sunny, until today:(), so we've been going out for walks around noontime, so DS3 and I can work off some energy. Not sure how far we're going, but probably still less than a mile. Oh, well... Ginny-I didn't mean for you to get sick:sorry: Eat some:chicken: soup and you'll feel much better! Or that's what my mil always says. I do actually think it works, though. Yes, we want to move-long story short, we want to move to a larger town (where we are now is about 500 pop) about 15 miles away-partly for economics (closer to DH's work, our church, DS2's school, grocery store, etc) and partly because our kids have been harassed and assaulted by kids here because we homeschool. The other town is larger and has lots of hs'ers, so we feel like we would fit in better. We just have to get the house sold and find another we can afford (I pray alot!) Had to do a lot of yard work this year because I had injuries from a car accident a couple years ago and couldn't do much the last couple summers, because of wrist, arm and neck pain. Now, I'm doing much better and really getting alot done! Rosebud-thanks for the b-day greeting- I think about you packing boxes and am so glad you found a place! We had to move in the winter once-no fun, but I'll be praying you get some nice weather and don't have to worry about that fluffy stuff or worse while you are moving. Hope everyone has a really nice day! Hello to Gary, Courtney, Iris, Sunshine and everyone else! |
Gary-don't worry about missing my b-day, because I didn't tell anyone about it, until I saw that Rosebud was an Oct. baby also. I have lots and lots of friends with Oct b-days for some reason. But, thanks for the greeting! I really appreciate those 'happy b'day's' even though it means I'm getting old!
Wilma-thanks to you too! Have a great day, everyone! |
Thanks for the greetings!
Ronni - Sorry to hear the reason you are seeking a new home. I'm sorry people can be so difficult. We hs and have for 13 years now. My teens are 3@16 and 1@15 they are well adjusted (mostly) and realize they are blessed2bhomeschooled (most of the time :)). To be supported by other hs's is a great encouragement. No doubt you will be blessed in your efforts. Keep up the good work! Hey Canada Chickies - I am amazed how cold it is there...here in the heart of Texas it's 64 degrees this morning, but supposed to be getting colder later today. As far as the controling my eating goes...today is a new day and I didn't do so bad yesterday, need to get this body movin though, I'm an excercizephobic. Any ideas? What works for you? |
Hi Everyone! These past weeks have gone by so fast, I know it will just keep going faster as Christmas is coming! (only 9 weeks)! I am trying to get some new motivation I just don't want to start a new year with that same ol' resolution to lose the same 25lbs I wanted to lose last year. So I think I am just going to start over fresh today! Aren't we glad Gods mercies are fresh everyday! Today is the first day I have been home in weeks ( I am a stay at home mom but I just started a business) So I am going to scrub my house today and get some of my sanity back! Welcome everyone who is new! I wish I could do some of those fancy posts with all the welcome signs and smiles but I am a basic poster ( just not sure how to do all that fancy stuff) God bless you all!!!! so off to cleaning I go!!!!!
|
Ray of sunshine- use the advanced post button (think it is so the right of the quick post one) and once it downloads, all the smileys pop up.:carrot: What kind of business are you in?
Blessed to be me- whatever works for you is good! I walk (with a buddy once a week, the other days solo). Dancing is great.....put on some good tunes, supportive sneakers and dance away. The idea is to move more, and in the beginning, anything is better than nothing. Try going to collage video's web page (google collagevideo) they rate workout DVD's- and have a good questionaire to help select a workout for you. Or call their 800#- their staff is very helpful. Ronni and Rose......sorry for missing your birthdays! Hope you both had great days. Wilma- great to hear from you! Hope you can get a few moments for yourself.......I remember your life used to be really busy, much like mine. Its pretty cold up there now, right? Are you still walking? Hi Gary, Laurie and Healthy.......hope your day is going well. Gotta go back to work.....this cold really knocked me out last night, but I did sneak in a 2 mile walk this am in the crisp cold air! Blessings to each of you Ginny |
Hey everyone!:D I got it now! :carrot: Hope everyone is having a great week! We are going through some very difficult times right now, I know its nothing God cant solve. So we just have to wait on him to do it in his time and his way:angel: Please pray for us ... hopefully in the future I will get to share a praise report ... in the mean time I am just pressing through, and waiting on God! God Bless
|
ray, remember God never fails.
|
A quick fly-by to say hello from California. You are all in my prayers - Sunshine - I'm looking forward to your praise report. Bargoo - I hope you are doing OK. You, continue to be in my prayers!
I hope each of you had a blessed day! Prayers ascending! Laurie :scooter: |
 HI EVERYONE ~ been busy, busy, busy trying to get everything sorted out for our move; changing all our utilities has been a bit stressful. It took me over two days and many phones calls and call-backs; boy, things sure have changed since we last moved.
And on top of that, a water pipe burst in our heat system and got a whole pile of our boxes wet, so today I had to repack them. Thankfully, the heating/plumber guy came quickly and fixed it pronto, before the water reached our furniture. We finally got everything sorted out and put our boxes into another room, where they will stay for the duration until we move. I will catch up reading tomorrow after we come back from town; some errands to run like getting a post box and stuff like that. Still have a few things to do like changing addresses and such ... We are having colder temps (-10C) but the skies are clear; maybe we'll have sun tomorrow; that would be nice. I think the cold is better; because it makes the ground hard, so not as mucky for moving. Gee, GOD really does know best, doesn't he? :D Well, it's late, gotta get to bed, but take good care everyone, your fellow encourager :hug:ROSEBUD:hug: Remember, that ^^PRAYERS^^ continue for you and yours ... Dear Lord, please bless all our friends here, especially those that are struggling and/or are sick in any way ... and we thank you, Amen. |
Just wanted to wish everyone a great Friday! Got an incredibly busy day......so no time for a lengthy post. Have a blessed day all!
Ginny |
Praying for you Rayofsunshine!
G |
Hello, you all! It's a gloomy day here again today-rain, rain, rain and cold too:brr: Football tonight will be very cold! I made a huge blanket that we take along and all curl up under. It helps that the town really supports the fb team, so there's lots of body heat in the bleachers!
ray of sunshine-prayers for you. God does reward our patience and faithfulness. "God will bless you, if you don't give up when your faith is being tested. He will reward you with a glorious life, just as He rewards everyone who loves Him." James 1:12 Sometimes it's hard for all of us to remember His promises when we are in the middle of trials, though. bargoo-prayers continue for you as well. Hope you are feeling ok and that the treatment is going well. for you, too. Rosebud-thank goodness you caught the water leak quickly! Hope you got all the utilities changed and errands done. All that running around and making calls is always stressful. One of the companies here tried to streamline the utility changing issue with a "we'll do it all for you" plan (I think it was the phone company), but they messed it up so badly, I had to spend twice as long to straighten out all the mistakes as I would have spent just doing it myself the first time! Counting-hope you're enjoying California and the visit! Hi to everyone else! Have a great day and weekend, too!:hug::hug: to all! |
Hey Everyone! Thanks for the prayers Counting and ECmom and the encouragement bargoo! I love bible verses they always help me gain a fresh perspective ronnie! We are just starting in this trial. . . so I am not sure how long it will last and what the outcome will be but I am determined I will trust God all the way through!:D and not because I have so much faith but because I know God will carry us through! Isnt funny how life is like that... you are at a great place everything going your way and then :frypan: a trial! I just went through one about a year ago and I told God the only thing I wish was that I handled it better ( I really let bitterness and anger get the best of me) So here I am with another chance... :D The God of second chances;) Oh well I want to pass this test this time!!! God Bless! Rosebud God bless you and keep you strong as you move! Have a blessed day:)
|
RAY OF SUNSHINE ~ Am sending up special prayers for you and your family during this 'trial' you are facing. We don't know what it is, but GOD does, and He will carry you through. During those 6 weeks, when we didn't know where we were going, at times, it was so upsetting: but I was reminded over and over that "God would be with me just as he was with Moses"; it was a kind of 'wilderness' experience for us. We were told ... you have to move ... now; but you don't know where you are going or why: just because; and you only have so much time to get there ... lol ...
Near the last week, I finally asked GOD to please excuse my weakness in this matter, as I was a bit discouraged when we still hadn't found a place, so then I asked Him to please 'CARRY ME' the rest of the way; and quoted that scripture from ... Isaiah 46:4 ~ And, even to your old age, I am He, and even to your hoar hairs (gray hairs), will I carry you: I have made you, and I will bear (you); even I will carry (you), and I will deliver you. At that time, I also put a fleece out to Him concerning whether He wanted us to stay here or not; I received an answer to that fleece right away without any hesitation, so I knew He just wanted us to wait a little longer ... In this week alone, three people offered us nice places to live; and we found out why there were so many delays (they were caused by other people), but GOD worked everything out for our good, despite those other issues. He turned it to our advantage, and we now have a wonderful home to live in. After we move in, I will take some pictures to show you all. I spent the morning washing the livingroom rug; our rug cleaning machine worked wonderfully. This afternoon, I made some muffins for DH; and did some more packing. I came in here so that I could rest my feet a bit, as I have been on them a lot this week. HI RONNI ~ thanks for your encouragement. Yah, things are much more complicated than before; it's been over 16 years since we moved and things have changed a lot. ECMOM ~ thanks for the birthday wishes; no problem, I don't think I told anyone until afterwards that it was even my birthday. We went to a nice place and had a nice dinner: bbq ribs and chicken with a baked new potato and a nice salad. We skipped dessert becuz the dinner was so filling. BARGOO & COURTNEY ~ prayers continue for you both, and for your grandmother too, Courtney ... HI TO ALL OUR FRIENDS HERE; hope you all have a great weekend!!!! Take good care, your fellow encourager :hug:ROSEBUD  ^^PRAYERS^^ continue for you and yours ... |
Rosebud, hope you got a wee bit of a rest in. Preparing to move is such a ton of work, and you had a ton of stress just finding your new home. Don't you just love it when you can really see the Lord's hand at work in our lives? (for us of little faith!). Glad that things worked out well for you.
Ray- the steadfast love of the Lord never faileth, His mercies never come to an end. Whatever place you are in in your life, He knew you would be there, and He has a perfect plan to see you through this. trust in Him. Ronni- nothing like a cold football game! (in my opinion, football should be played in the cold! But then I am a bit wacky). Hope you were able to enjoy the game and stay warm- and that noone got hurt. Football is a tough game. Today ended up being a bit less stressful than I thought it would be. I was able to get some school work done this evening, so that I can jump into other work tomorrow am. Weather is supposed to stink here, rainy and a chance of thunderstorms.........that is fine by me, as it takes the pressure off me to do anything other than stay home and get some housework done. What a long week! I am so glad the weekend is here. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Ginny |
GOOD MORNING GALS :coffee:
I just finished reading my morning paper and it isn't even 5am yet. Wonder what it would be like to sleep in? I guess I did, really! I really can't remember the last time I was still in bed at 6am. My daughter sponsored a jewelry party here last night for a friend of hers/ours from high school. It was a lot of fun for her and Angie, my wife loves these kinds of things. It was nice they could help the girl out, she is such a sweetie...and she brought her 2 month old baby for me to hold too! Well as of yesterday work has finally slowed down for me, I really need a little...little...break! I may get more than I want, we shall see. I do have a couple of big projects in the near future so it looks like I will be OK, for now. Angie and I will walk the dogs and get coffee later this morning, going to be a great day here...very warm. Then she is off to church for bell choir practice and I will be taking some tables and an EZ-up over there for my ex-wife. They are starting to get things going for our church fall bazaar in a few weeks. Angie is having some friends over for a dinner party tonight...guess I have to go ;) Bratwurst, sauerkraut and some kind of harvest soup stuff is on the menu. GINNY ~ I hope the weather is a nicer for you than they say! It is going to be a gorgeous day here in southern California....come on down :) ROSEBUD ~ I have been in this house for 29 years...I couldn't imagine having to pack! It wouldn't be too bad...I am a down sizer kind of person...I do have a lot of my kids stuff here in the garage though...all crated. So happy things are looking better for you! RAY OF SUNSHINE ~ Continued prayers as you go through this tough time in your life  BARGOO ~Prayers  See you around ;) SCOOTER ~Are you still here in California? I hope your visit is going great with the kids! BLESSED2BME ~ :welcome: RONNI ~ I hope it isn't too wet and wild for you today! I hope the football games went well last night. WILMA ~ Great to see you here from time to time...you must be so busy in that exercise room ;) AZCANDY ~ :welcome3: AUNT SUE ~ IRISWHISPERS ~Prayers that new church comes your way this week! :) COURTNEY ~ Prayers for your grandma's health and family too!  TO ALL MIA's  See you all around real soon ! Have a great day :) |
Gary - hope you enjoyed your "coffee walk" and the dinner party. We are going to a potluck with the kids tonight - should be fun :)
Ginny - hope you got your work done! And - that you get to enjoy at least some of the weekend! Rosebud - I'm so pleased that you found a nice place. And of course, the reminder that "all things work together for good, for those that love God". We get so stressed worrying about things when God can see our futures and cares for us and loves us and tries so hard to steer us in the right direction. What a blessing that your patience and perseverance have paid off with a new home :) Sunshine - your faithfulness will serve you well through this trial. God will be with you every step. And we will be praying for you! Ronni - hope you stayed dry at the football game. Our community members are big football fans too. It seems that the stadium is THE place to be on Friday nights. Now that the kids are out of school, we don't go too often any more. But we can hear the announcer from our house - so we often sit out on the patio and enjoy the game from afar :) (usually with a nice fire in the pit and a glass of wine) ;) We had a lovely day yesterday - went to the rose garden - which was absolutely gorgeous! And DS1 took us sailing, which is something we had never done. Imagine that - growing up in a town with two lakes and never going sailing. It was a lot of fun. Last night was dinner at a macrobiotic restaurant in Berkeley. Wonderful food and something we can't get back home. Tonight is a potluck followed by a "discussion" around all of the proposals on the California ballot. Should be interesting. Gonna have to walk a tight rope to not embarrass the kids, but not be a hypocrite either. I do believe that DH and I are a tad more conservative than our children and their friends. I'm gonna have to do a lot of spontaneous praying tonight to keep my tongue in check. Maybe I better go read James again. ;) Prayers continuing for all! |
HAHA! SCOOTER there are a lot of things you can get in Beserkeley that you can't get back home...the discussion should be interesting!
|
Good Evening!
Gary, hoping that you had a really pleasant coffee walk with Angie this am. We do that too here - although usually it is me and my daughters- my husband does not like to walk all that much. How did the dinner this evening go? Countingdown- glad that you had such a great day yesterday. Tonights dinner sounds interesting- potlucks are usually lots of fun! Who selected the topic (most usually try to stay away from politics over dinner!). I hear you with having to bite your tongue- happens here all the time. A busy day...got a lot done, but I am still fighting this darned cold. Now my husband has it too. I never really got "sick", but have been dragging all week. Oh well, back to the books. See you tomorrow Ginny |
Gee, I am the first one here today? Wow......
Hope everyone is just busy out there and not overwhelmed by life. We got up and attended the "early" service this morning- Dd's fiance joined us too, which was nice. Other than that, I have been attempting to catch up on so many things that I had let slack because of an insane work load. Parts of the house are finally starting to clean up, but I have a long way to go. Tomorrow will be a tough day- I am attending two meetings with regard to cutbacks at work for next year. Who knows how that will go. I'd better get some work done on this computer. See you tomorrow! Ginny |
Hi all - a quick fly-by. Prayers continuing for all. We will be traveling tomorrow, so I won't be posting.
Hope you all had a blessed Sunday! |
 HI EVERYONE ~ we have had a great weekend. We went into town on Saturday instead because there was a wee party we wanted to go to. It was just for fun and was very informal. WE also went shopping and saw lots of pretty gifts out for Christmas already.
Some nice guys came over and helped DH move some heavy stuff around; he was fretting that he wouldn't be able to get some things done as he is not that big, so I suggested he go ask for help. These guys offered to come over and help him; he gave them a tip for their kindness and I asked GOD to bless them too. Today was a good day for us too; since I took yesterday off to have fun, I had to do some things I had put off, but they were small. We had rain and NIKO got our white floor painted with paw prints so I had to wash that. He's doing quite well, and knows every command we have taught him; but he is still quite playful and funny. He really tries hard to please us; so I think he really loves being here with us. We are still getting ready to move; doing packing and sorting and such. I made a big list and am checking them off: so far everything is going well. On Monday, we will go to town to take care of some errands we didn't get done last week. HI GARY ~ thanks, and yes, there does seem to be a lot of stuff gathered over the 16 + years; I hope we can sort through it all and get rid of some too. Hope you are having a wonderful time at home with Angela and your family. THANKS COUNTING ~ You know in your head that GOD will provide all along; but in your emotions, you get nervous as time goes on and things don't seem to be going anywhere. I have to deal with my own insecurities and DH's as well; that can be more stressful trying to have enough faith for the both of us ~ LOL! But in the end, all my prayers, and requests, and fleeces were answered. The weakness is always ours: GOD IS EVER FAITHFUL, and He provided for us once again. ECMOM ~ hope things go well for your at work tomorrow; so will send up a prayer for that and the flu bugs at your house too. HOPE EVERYONE HERE has a blessed Sunday and a great week coming up too! Take good care or yourselves and your families ~ your fellow encourager :hug:ROSEBUD  ^^PRAYERS^^ are ascending for you and yours ... |
HI GALS ~
Just a quick check in while I watch this World Series ballgame. Last night's dinner party went well. We had bratwurst, sauerkraut, rolls and mashed potatoes with goat cheese. Being "older" and everyone needing to get to bed, I was able to see most of the baseball game last night and watch USC on the computer :) My day was mixed today. At 6:30 this morning my brother called me (he is on our job for the week-end 500 miles away) to ask if I could run across the street, along with his wife's brother, and get his basset hound to the emergency vet. He had been having troubles. Poor guy, he was so glad to see me but was really weak. He weighs 75 pounds so my sil's brother and I carried him in a blanket to the car and she and I took him to the vet. Unfortunately they had to have him put to sleep due to tumors in his body. So sad :( I was able to make it to church though in time to hear Angie play bells and catch the sermon, I really needed it after our morning. Angie did some volunteer dog walking at the shelter while I watched some football and paid bills. We took ours for a 2.5 miler around the neighborhood before dinner. SCOOTER ~Have a safe trip! GINNY ~ As I mentioned the dinner went well. Sorry your husband doesn't like to walk. To be honest going out with my dogs and wife for a 3 miler in nice weather is one of the highlights of my days. I hope the cutbacks are easy on you...I think this is something almost ALL of us are going through! HAVE A GREAT WEEK GALS :) |
Hey ROSEBUD I am enjoying the time with Angie. I saw my daughter on Friday afternoon and night with the jewelry party here and my son is off work tomorrow...not sure why...and he is taking me to lunch at the new deli near us.
Glad you had help with that heavy stuff! Sounds like things are "swinging" your way for a change! Praise God. |
A short hello!
Rose- sounds as though Niko did not want to get lost in the shuffle and left you with a reminder of his existance....;) What a blessing that you had some help moving the heavy stuff. Thanks so much for the prayers, I need them! Gary- well with neither team from the West Coast, who would you like to see win the series? My household is split........ How nice that you really enjoy walking with Angie. What a blessing! Safe travels, Counting down. Got to my WW meeting - down 1.6 #, which I am so thankful for. I put my mind to it this past week.....snuck in a walk this am too. Gotta go back to work, see ya tomorrow! G |
Hey everyone! :D Just wanted to drop in and say a quick hello when life slows down a little bit I would love to go in to a few details about myself, and would love to get to know each of you a little better! We just happen to be in some crazy times right now:dizzy: Everything is well here and I have been dropping in to catch up on everyone. Be blessed this week!;) Ps Gary sorry about the bros dog...
|
HI GALS ~
I was off work today so I took the dogs out for 3.5 miles early this morning then did a couple more on the treadmill. Even though I am doing chores and stuff around the house...code word for napping....chores ;) I tend to not lose near the calories I do at work...plus I eat stuff I don't at work. At work I eat decent, usually a turkey sandwich, yogurt, granola bar, chicken soup and a piece of fruit between break and lunch. At home it might be nachos!...OK...it will be nachos! My son had a day off from teaching to do some of his errands...he was owed a day from some extra work he had done for his department over a Saturday...called me yesterday to see if I was off, so we met at the deli for lunch. Glad I did those 5.5 miles this morning because the sandwich...which was 1/2 of one and potato salad I had I am sure was 800 calories....so good! Cleaned out the pantry in the garage today, was able to fill a bag up with decent canned food and pasta sauces that Angie and I will not eat in time, for the give-away pantry at church. I have a big problem buying BBQ sauce, salad dressing and such when it is on sale $1....just how many do I really need :D Then I jumped into the fridge and got rid of condiments...our family is big on thousand island-ranch-honey mustard-vinaigrettes-spritzers salad dressings and honey-hot-Dijon-regular-brown-spicy mustard and every kind of hot sauces and salsa you can find around here....but now with just Angie and I it was time to move it out....good or not! Making a chicken, pears, apples and rosemary dish tonight that my daughter recommended for dinner tonight, Angie is teaching yoga for the teachers at her school this afternoon then is going to the yoga joint to work the desk before dinner. GINNY ~ Normally I would pull for the Phils in the Series since they beat my DODGERS and I am a National League kind of guy...but I have a friend in our baseball thread that is a RAYS fan and we (the losers) have all pretty much decided to root with her. Great job on the 1.6 gone forever! :carrot: RAY of :sunny:~It will be nice to know you better. Thanks for the condolences on my brother's dog...TUBBY was a cool dog...I miss him too! |
Hi all - a bit jet lagged, but we made it home safely :)
Gary - sorry about Tubby - losing a pet (even a relative's pet) is always hard - and - congrats on keeping a balance between exercise and eating while you are at home. It IS hard to break what has become routine and be successful. Sunshine - I'm also looking forward to getting to know you better. I have enjoyed your posts here :) Ginny - :D CONGRATS!!!!! down 1.6 is AMAZING. And walking was/is my favorite exercise. Some folk poo-poo it - as not real exercise, but - for me - it was/is at GREAT way to lose weight and stay healthy!!! Rosebud - so glad the packing is going well - and that you found a home where Niko will fit in nicely. And - thank you for the reminder to pray for those that help us. Too often I rush through the day and don't offer up those simple prayers. Your reminder is timely as we traveled and met many helpful strangers today. OK - drum roll - I am delighted to announce that we spent 9 days in Oakland - SF - took the kids out to eat at least once each day - and I lost .4 lbs - yes - 4 tenths of one lb! Now that may not seem like much - but - the "old" me would have gained 5 to 10 lbs. So - my 124.6 is lookin' mighty fine :) Thank you all for your prayers for safe travel. We actually went through some snow showers on the way home - it was kind of a rude reminder that winter is coming. I miss the 80 degree California sunshine already! Gary - you are blessed!!! Prayers continuing for all! Blessings! Laurie |

My dinner of chicken-apples-pears-leeks and rosemary was a hit with Angie...she has already packed leftovers for her lunch!! Oh yeah!! I'm the man!!...lol |
Gee, Gary, your dinner sounds great!
Sorry, I am a burnout......almost 3 hours of board meetings tonight- some of us will be losing our jobs....not a pretty site. My job should be ok, perhaps some reduced hours. I just have to remember WHO is in control of this mess and keep my eyes on Him. G'nite |
Oh my gosh... i missed your 1.6 lbs ginny:carrot: congrats I love checking in and reading everybodys posts.....:D
|
OHHH and counting congrats....to lose weight when out of town is real dedication ;) ps thanks for saying that ... its always nice to hear nice things :D
|
Well, hello, everyone:wave:! We had a busy weekend, but it sounds like we weren't the only ones who did;)
Ginny-congrats on the weight loss!:carrot: It's always great to have a losing week, unless it's football, of course.;) Very sorry about the job situation, but you're right-God is in control and will always help with your needs (enough hours at work and finances). Prayers continuing for the situation:hug: Counting-glad you made it home safely and had a nice trip-lost weight too-:carrot: It's nice when your 'new' eating is enough of a habit that you can lose even in different surroundings and situations! Gary-so very sorry about your brother's dog. I'm sure they were very glad you could be there to help out, even though it turned out so sad. Glad, though, that you got to spend time with the kids and the baby! I'm sure Angie is enjoying having you home now too-enjoy the downtime! Ray of sunshine-prayers continue for your situation. I ran across this saying the other day: "God does not give us what we can handle; God helps us handle what we are given." Keep Him in focus and you can get through anything:hug: (after the year my family's had, I feel like I'm becoming an expert on this:lol:) Football Friday was cold, but the rain quit and the boys ended the regular season undefeated! They took the division championship and are 1st seed going into play-offs. First play-off game is Wednesday evening (which has many upset, but I guess there were no other options this time) and our team gets home-field advantage (not that it really matters-they are so good this year!) The coaches were practicing DS2 this week, so he may even get to play in the play-off game. He has gotten so much better and faster-wrist healed up fine and I'm so proud of him for sticking with it, even when he wasn't getting to play in the varsity games. Who knows what next year will bring, with his determination to keep at it! Getting ready for our church's Halloween-alternative party-lots of games, prizes, food, and, of course, candy for the kiddies to take home! DH and I take photos and print them at the party for the kids to take home-it's really been a hit! So, I've got to get the cameras ready and bake cookies :cookie:before Thursday. Also, have to give a deposition on Thurs. morning about the car 'accident' we had almost 3 years ago. I'm really not looking forward to it, but I'm really tired of dealing with all the stuff that came from this incident. It would have just been so much easier if the offending driver's insurance adjusters had been honest and honorable and willing to compensate us fairly for all our claims from this, but right now, we're in the red financially because someone else ran a stop sign and hit us. Unbelievable! And, the insurance company that won't pay on our claims is now involved in sponsoring nascar racing-something just doesn't seem right in that:mad: Hopefully, they'll see that they are going to have to make right on this, especially since DS3's doc says that the injury causing his pain probably happened in the accident (that's when it all started). I'm praying for patience and a right attitude for this, because I really hate insurance companies and I'm so tired of the run-around they've been giving us, along with their lies. Sorry for the rant:o Have a great day everyone! Hi to all the mia's. |

Sunshine - prayers continuing for your situation. I hope your day was peaceful and spirit-calming.
Ronni - congrats on the football scene. That is awesome. Keep us posted on how the playoffs go :) Extra prayers for you this week regarding the deposition. Hopefully, it will be over soon - with a positive resolution. Ginny - prayers for your school district. We have had similar discussions here. I hope your hours on not cut! These are stressful times for so many right now. We have a record number of homeless kids in our school district. And the food pantries are experiencing record numbers of visitors too. Gary - hope you had a great day being at home. Hopefully work opportunities will arise soon. Hello to everyone else. I'm gonna try to get to bed early tonight. And - I'm still doing some research on who to vote for for judges and the like here in MI. Thankfully, there are some organizations that have websites to help. Hope you all had a blessed day. Prayers ascending! |
