You'll be fine for your marathon, Helen. Just stay healthy!

I went out for a short 2 mile run today. I was slooooowwww, heavy heavy legs for some reason, but ended up running pretty much the whole thing. This is frustrating, but at least I'm getting out there.

Helen -- Too bad about your run, but good for you for slowing down and taking care of yourself...

It WAS gorgeous and COOL here this morning too, but DH and I had made plans to go biking so we biked 38k, it was nice on the waterfront....

Did my run on Friday on the treadmill - was absolutely shot at - my legs felt like they'd been beaten with a stick!!! And that was before I got on the treadmill! We must've done extreme legs on Thursday!

I only managed about 4.5 miles, but that was enough, my legs were cramping and I was tired, so I thought I should call it a day. I still have enough time to do more! I'll save up some energy for this Friday and do my 6.5 miles properly!

Last week I got in 27 (24 scheduled) miles in 6 days of running - had a long one of 9.5 (7 running, 2.5 walking)...trying to get my endurance back up...But - I am definitely happy with my progress - I burned about one whole pound off in pure running

This week I have scheduled 26 miles...right now my big hurdle in September is getting past the dreaded 13.2 mark...I am scheduled for a 14-miler in mid-September...we'll see about that

Glad you are feeling better Helen - take care of yourself

I had a good swim this morning, which really seemed to help. Tomorrow I'm going to decide what to do when I get up, either a 5 mile run or 50 minutes on the exercise bike, depending how my knee/hip feel. Hopefully a bit of sensible cross training will help rather than running if it feels dodgy.
