Default Spacesuits at the Gym

Every once in a while I see people at the gym wearing metallic suits (like astronauts without helmets)... It looks like they're loosely wrapped in tin foil. Has anyone seen this? What are they for???

body water loss, usualy used by wrestlers, boxers etc. to reach their fighting weight. some bodybuilders might use it to get a better definition for awhile of the muscles.

basically you just sweat out 15-20 pounds with it

Thanks for the reply. I was guessing it was to encourage sweating, but didn't realize that anyone would really aim to lose water weight. Keep in mind that I work out at the YMCA alongside mostly old-folk (no real body-builder types). Of course the YMCAstronauts I've seen aren't from the older crowd.

It's a BAD idea! It can be potentially very dangerous or even deadly.
