There are some online calculators that help you determin you daily calorie intake based on weight goals and exercise you may want to take a look at. I was surprised at mine. I assumes I should be between 1200 and 1500. When I researched it I should be closer to the 1400 - 1600 range.
On an average day I eat bran flakes and skimmed milk for breakfast, normally two unbuttered slices of toast for dinner and something like vegetable soup or shephards pie for tea. In addition to this I snack on fruit and go ahead bars.
