I don't use a HRM strap, but most of the cardio equipment in my gym has HRM handles. I typically go at 140-150, getting up into the 160 range if I really want to push myself. I like the feeling of exercising really hard. I don't know if there are any negative consequences to pushing myself that hard -- I always cool down and stretch afterwards. (I am 44, BTW).
Okay, I finally figured out how to stop the beeping madness!!!
I wore it today during my 1 hour workout! I would check it with the heart rate on the machines. It would sometimes be 2 beats off, but thats all!
I was very shocked with the amount of cals I burned tonight, 1008 cals burned. Tonight I really worked with alot of weights, I wanted to see how my heart rate stayed up while using weights. I only did about 20 min cardio!
I am very please with my heart rate watch!!!
Now that I can work it!!
I love it too! I definately helps me stay consistant and gives me an extra little push of motivation.
Honestly, I didn't realize I was working as hard as I was. Now that I wear the HRM, i can build up to a steady rate and not get so tired so easily. I don't just quit or get so exhausted as much.
Have any of you just wore your heart rate monitor around for the day just to check out the cals burned a day!
I did today I have been doing basic housework, some shooting ball with my son, cleaned on my car!
cals burned today: tot cal 4742 (reading on my watch)
Thats amazing!
