Default Aerobics Tapes With Overweight People

Hi there,

Does anyone know of anyone other than Richard Simmons who has overweight people in their videos? I find it so much more motivational to see other overweight people working out rather than beautiful thin models who have never had a weight problem.

I have pretty much lost interest in all my RS tapes and am looking for something new.

Or can anyone recommend a tape that does not have you moving so quickly, I find it difficult at my weight to keep up with a lot of the choreography in most tapes.

Thanks for your advice!

Sheri, I recommend the George Foreman tapes. There are two that I know of -- Walk and Box (about 45 minutes) and the other one is Circuit Training (35 minutes). You can get them as a two-pack which saved me a bunch. There are people of all ages and sizes and there is nothing too hard. He encourages you to do them at your own pace, and he's very sweet, too. They're similar to Leslie Sansone in the techniques.

Of course, you also might try Leslie if you haven't already!

The Weight Watcher's exercise DVD (3 levels on one CD) or three VHS tapes also show people of various sizes. You don't have to be a member to go into a center and buy these.

I do the Walk Away the Pounds workouts, and all of the videos I have seen (so far) show walkers of different sizes and ages, male and female.

And there is no choreography to speak of, just four basic steps (walk in place, kicking, knee lift, and stepping side to side). I find them mildly challenging, but easy to keep up with. A lot of the videos also have one walker demonstrating lower-intensity moves if you're just learning the workout or feeling tired. Leslie Sansone (the leader) is very sweet and motivating, and encourages you to do everything at your own pace. I LOVE these DVDs, and highly recommend them.

Kelly Bliss has tapes for overweight to super obese people. I have not seen these, so I am not sure what the quality is like, what the moves/music is lik or if there is just her leading or if there is cast of people .
I imaging you can find out by going to her site http://www.kellybliss.com/main/index.shtml
