Default are these thighs fat?

I have no idea if this is the right place for this question, but I'm gonna try it...I am a heavy person. Not so much in how I look, but in how much I weigh. Allegedly, this could be muscle...my question is this: when I stand sideways and look into a mirror, I notice that the fronts of my thighs curve outward. They are not flat...am I just paranoid? Is this fat? Is this muscle? Mind you, I am not going to change my mind about exersizing, this is more for piece of mind. I am taking small steps, eating better, increasing activity, being more positive. I find it's the only way for me to get this to stick, and stick for good....truly the lifestyle vrs. temporary fix issue.

If someone has an answer, or even an idea, I'm open to it.
THank you

It sounds like it might just be the quad muscle, not fat, though there may be a layer of fat over the muscle.

I don't think I have ever seen anyone with flat fronts of the thighs, nor do I think it would be very attractive haha!! Thighs are supposed to curve out in the front a little I think. Whether there is fat there or not, I can't say, but I do know it is normal for them to curve out, because that is the shape of the muscle in that area. (Don't sweat the small stuff!!)

Mine curve out a bit...I agree that it would look a little weird if they just went straight down. Don't sweat this one!

Do something that tenses the quads like a squat. While it's tight, can you feel flub over it? I can press through a bit of soft and then I can feel the taught muscle. So I know I have some fat over the muscle.
Did that make sense?
