Default About to try Pilates for the first time

I just went to Amazon and ordered the two Pilates for Dummies DVD's. My schedule is so compressed I need to find something that will do some good in a short (less than 45 minte) workout. I'm already up at 2:30, so don't tell me to just get up earlier!
I have a manual treadmill and some weights, but I feel like my workout program needs a kick in the pants. Does Pilates substitute for cardio or for weight training, or is it somethign totally different? I have been doing 30 minutes on the treadmill M-W-F and about 20 minutes of weights Tu-Th.

Pilates will not be a sub for cardio as it focuses on the muscles in the core, hips, legs. In some ways it would be close to weights, but imo, it is do different, I would classify it as different from either.
