I am SOOO glad I read this thread. I was/am feeling discouraged for the same reasons! It's been 4 wks. and although the scale says I've lost 9 lbs., I am not really noticing any difference in the way my clothes fit. I am having a hard time finding healthy recipes that actually taste good, and now it's that "time of month" so I feel gross and bloated. Not the happiest couple of weeks ever. To top it off, I've been working out and eating right 6 days/wk. and am still wearing the same clothes. Grr.
Calejo - For me it takes more than 9 lbs to get into different clothes! I just notice that the ones I'm wearing fit better I'd say at least 15 lbs to get into a smaller size, and then - at least for me - it still varies with how they're cut, etc. I'm quite busty so I need to lose a lot to get into a smaller fitted top. Hang in there, you're on the right track! And congrats on 9 lbs gone. that's great for 4 weeks.
I think that is just the natural process of weight loss.
It takes a while for the body to adjust to the new plan. Possibly the change in lifestyle may be a bit of a shock to the system and if you are holding on to little water weight then you may not see a huge amount of difference at first. ****, the body might try to hold on to the lbs for a while incase it thinks it's in danger or something.
Keep going. You are doing amazingly well with the exercise. Is it possible you are eating too little? I know they are the words no one wants to utter and I am a newbie so don't take my advice as gospel (that is my new saying around here!) but I'm not sure how many calories you are eating a day and you are exercising a fair bit.
keep it up. Although there is no physical signs ofchange yet, internally your body is probably reapnig the benefits from a change to a healthier lifestyle.
I hugely believe in variation in exercise. I'm not hugely aware of how beneficial weight lifting is but i hear it is meant to be good. I am alternating between walking, cycling and running at the moment and I'm hoping that this is enough variation to work on lots of different muscles.
I just wanted to say that you are not alone. In July I began cardio 5 days a week and weight training 3 days a week with a trainer. As of the end of August I had not lost a lb. I then joined WW and now being Nov. have only lost 11 lbs. I was in a size 16/18 and just within a week or so my 18's are too big and I am barely in a 16 (a tad tight.) My trainer is a little stumped, but we just keep stepping it up. So, you aren't alone..I do get so frustrated, but I just refuse to give up. I have worked to hard to get these darned 11 lbs that I am so scared if I give up I will gain double. Good luck to you!!
