I hate it when the thread gets two pages long. I think the two times a day sounds great, IF we can count the commuter tape as one of those times. There is absolutely no reason I can't do the commuter tape every day. I just don't!!!
I haven't O'ed since the end of the 21 day challenge just because I thought I needed a break, but I plan to get back in the grove Sunday morning.
Just say the word as to when the new challenge needs to start, and I'll get psyched-up for it.
Barbg-Thanks for starting a new thread. I agree it's much easier to post to a smaller thread. Twice a day sounds like a big challenge to me but it's worth giving it a try! I need a jump start that's for sure. Whatever you all decide is great with me just let me know the date and I'll be here.
I did manage to do my commuter tape all this week and sometimes even twice a day! I feel much better too! I'm also getting back into the swing of things and I'm trying to do the spark program again. But I guess it's all about baby steps right? Okay I've got to run it's getting late and I have a few things to finish before the weekend. I hope to post this weekend and I hope you all will too! Keep breathing!
juilette: You are our challenge leader. Give us the dates of the new "2aday challenge" and we'll get started. I've taken a 3 day break from Oxycise, and now I'm ready to start again. I'll check with Nancy and make sure she's ready for it, too.
I have to say that even though I am disappointed I do not have the miraculous weight loss that some people have with Oxycise, the fact that It makes me feel so much better over all is work the 15 or 30 minutes a day it takes to do it. the weight loss is iceing!
rose we've both been here long enought to realize that we certianly do go through "cycles" of being up and down and posting every day to not posting for a week or so, Just as long as we keep comming back!!! As much as I enjoy Oxycise and the benefits I get from it, I know that I would lose interest and quite doing it if I didn't have this thread to read on those days when I am down or when my interest is low. Keeping the thread going keeps me going.
everyone who posts here no matter how regularly are very importiant to me and I wish the best for all of you so let's get it all together and start a new challenge with GUSTO and really make breaths.
I have been doing my "O" pretty faithfully once a day, but I know it should be twice. Today, though, I have not done it yet.
We went out for dinner last night, and when I got home I was SICK. I don't know if the dinner was the cause. All I had was a tossed salad, green beans and fried (I know that isn't good) fish. I was bloated, felt awful, and had a temp that went up to 100.7, when my normal is about 97.6 (I have low thyroid). I called and told them I might not make it to work this morning, but I was back to about normal this morning and went to work. I had to be there 1/2 hour earlier than usual, so I didn't get my O done. I may take today off. I have been extra tired today.
I found a couple interesting sites at healthnbeauty.com and lovethelamb.com. The site holder is an advocate of deep breathing, but her style is more like bodyflex. I do much prefer Oxycise to that.
I worked until noon today. There was a large funeral (I work for a funeral home) and eveyboday else had to be outside directing parking, etc, in about 105 degrees and I got to stay inside and answer telephones in the cold air condidtioning!
I'll keep checking back to see when the challenge starts. I find it harder to do O on the weekends with crazy schedules, especially twice a day, but I do want to try for the twice a day bit.
Nancy: You will love this site!!! The rest of you may be too young to appreciate it. I don't have the correct url, but you can find it is you search "minnie pauz"
Barb, I looked up the site, and they're hilarius, but I've been fortunate enough to not have had most of the normal problems. Only sleeplessness, which can be attributed to my thyroid problems at the time, and breast tenderness. I guess I can be really thankful.
I have found a site that seems to be really helping with my weight. I've lost 5 lbs in 3 days. I found it through a newsletter, but the site is www.healthnbeauty.com and after you get there it is 'living well'. There was a cost for the program, but I was given some unexpected money on Wednesday, and decided that that was where part of it was going. The program is all natural--no processed foods or anything--and can be followed for life, but is not as strict as Jill's is. Jill is almost completely vegetarian, from what I've read, and I couldn't go that route. There is plenty of food, and I haven't been hungry. It's just a little hard to change how you eat.
There is another site that goes right with this one that is www.lovethelamb.com.
I did do my "O" today, but only once. Tomorrow is another day.
Sorry I've been out of touch for a while but things have been so hectic! On a good note I've been doing my commuter tape every morning but haven't done a tape for a while. I need to do one tonight.
Barbg-Thanks for the website. I agree about us all going through cycles. I just seem to have a hard time to get going full throttle this time. But I know the hardest part is to get started. I agree about this thread keeping me going. Without all of your words of encouragement I would have given up long ago!
Nancy-If you don't mind me asking, how much is the program you're on? Congrats on the weight loss! You must be so happy! Way to go.
Juliette-I'm with Barb, when is the new challenge? I'm ready when you all are!
I'm going to get back to work but I'll be back later to check on you all. Keep oeing everybody!
I've been doing quite well this past week--lost 6 lbs in six days! Haven't measured yet, though. May do that tomorrow AM if I have the time. Otherwise will wait a day or two.
I went through the Chet Day newsletter, and got the program for 24.95 plus 5 for the cookbook--a total of 29.95. I think it will be well worth it. I am certainly eating differently, but I haven't been hungry. I have found that I can make a meal of a nice big salad, then a big baked potato with butter (a little) and salsa ( a lot) on it. Very good! For lunch I usually have a salad with roasted chicken cut up in it, or something like that. Other times protien for dinner, but cannot mix starch and protein. It seems to really work.
I did my O once Sunday, once yesterday, and once today. Might get to it again this eve, but I doubt it. Twice seems hard to get in.
I must close now. I've been on the computer too long.
Sorry I've been out of commission lately. I think I hit a wall or something during the last challenge. I remember weighing and measuring myself and realizing that I had gained and lost the same 5 pounds and 2 inches over the past month, even doing O! every single day!!! It kind of depressed me a little, and took me out of the loop.
The interesting thing is that by not O!ing lately, I have been feeling a difference. For example, after the 10 day challenge I did an aerobics tape that involved jumping up and down and the jiggling wasn't as severe... like, normally I can't do the high-impact cause the jiggling hurts, but it's almost like O! works you from the inside out.
Anyway, did the same aerobics tape on Tuesday AM after two weeks of no O! and the jiggles were back, and so were the 5 pounds...
So, I've started a new plan. I've been reading up under diet plans about "Body for Life" and I've been following that this past week. The extra exercising feels great, but I'm still struggling with the food part. This plan has you get up every morning and do 45 minutes of weight training 3 days a week and 20 minutes of cardio intervals 3 days a week with a day where you can eat or do anything you want.
Thanks to doing the morning O! with all of your encouragement, I am also able to get up early to do these other exercises - and it's great!
So about the challenge -
4th of July is this coming Wednesday and I'll be out of town through the following Sunday (the 8th). Would it be too much to wait until the 9th to start it? Would you guys like to start it earlier and I'll just join in the next one? Let me know your thoughts...
Well back to work - or looking like I'm working... nothing to really do today... maybe I'll just sit here and breathe
I've missed doing O yesterday and today, but during the last seven days I have lost EIGHT pounds! I have been following Living Well, which is on www.healthnbeauty.com. It consists of food combining, which never appealed to me, but I am finding it quite acceptable, and pretty much livable, even with a husband that is not co-operative food wise. The junk food isn't even tempting me now. And Don (dh) brought me home a large white chocolate-macadamia nut cookie (my favorite) from Safeway, and I didn't even want it. I do much a few almonds during the afternoon, though.
I do think I need a challenge, too.
Please pray for my daughter, Susan. She is much in need of it.
I must close. It's nearly 11 pm, and I have to go to work tomorrow.
That's where I've fallen. Since the 21 day challenge is over, I can't seem to get my act together. The 9th Sounds Great..Nancy:, Rose; How does that sound to you? That'll give me another week to get it together
But L completely agree with you Juliteet, when I O regularly I feel better all over!!! Inside and out
I would like a challenge. Things have been crazy around here, and I have not been doing O, so I need a jump start. I probably won't be able to do it twice a day very often, though, as I have a crazy work schedule, etc.
The weight is coming off (11 pounds in two weeks), but I need the toning, too.
juliette are you back yet? We need you to cheer lead us on!!! Rose!!! we need you back too, you are our fearless stability leader, without you this thread will not be the same, so please try to get back to us.
nancy I'm all geared up for a challenge starting Monday. If Juliette is back and wants to do the 2adays, I'm ready for that, and if you can't do it twice just keep doing it once. I think for me the main thing is to know that I have to log on and report if I did it or if I didn't do it. Maybe that't not the right frame of mind, but it gets the job(O) done!!
Let's get some action going around here again!!! anyone with me???
