Red face Can't do sit ups or crunches...Help:)

Hello everyone! I am pretty new here, but I have a question. Does anyone have any ideas of how I can get my AB workout without crunches or situps. I am not supposed to do them because of a back injury. I have bone fragments near my spine, and the rolling motion of sit-ups ar crunching aggrivates them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Oh, I would see a physical therapist about that problem...

I'd see a therapist. Maybe they could suggest some modifications on a stability ball or some core balancing type stuff. Good luck!

I too had back problems. Lie on the floor and hold both legs off the ground 6 inches. Move your feet up & down in a scissor motion...no more than 6-8 inches off the ground! "Flutter Kicks" are great ab work & help your hip flexors when you can't do crunches. For additional support place your hands under your lower back/butt. Definately see a Certified Therapist for more exercises though.

Don't do that...go see a physiotherapist. Having back problems and having bone fragments near your spine aren't in the same league. You need professional, medical help

THanks everyone for the advise. I have seen a PT and have tried the stability ball. It still hurts my back. I guess I'll do some of the Tae Bo AB work that isn't lying down... (BTW the flutter kicks were suggested by the PT and they don't hurt, but I don't see much results either. Maybe I just need to stick with it more.)
Thanks again, I suppose I could always have surgery to remove the fragments...YUCK!
