Default heart rate question

Just wondering. I'm currently working out 5xweek I use a heart rate monitor to stay in my target heart rate zone. But i'm on a heart medication
( cardiazem cd) that keeps my heart rate lower- so getting to the 70-80% is darn near impossible. Am I losing the same calories with a lower heart rate?? I'm sure the benefits are just the same.

That's a question for your doctor. Also ask if the general "target rates" are safe for you.

Default heart rate

Thanks. The doctors do not seem to know the answer to this either.
