  • Went to Curves for 30 mins.
  • Thanks for the information Sandy. I'm happy to see that your chalie horses ran away , that's so cute! The magnesium I take is incorporated with Calcium and vitamin D... I think that's what you mean... But I will definitely try the banana and orange, when the oranges are not in season maybe orange juice would work?
  • Hi Ladies!

My daughter and I were just discussing those "charlie horses" last night - she got one and we figured wearing a high heel all day yesterday may have also contributed to the cramping

Ilene, I just picked up a supplement for Cal-Mag-Zinc and some iron tablets. Went to donate blood this morning only to learn my hemacrit was off by one percent! I was so bummed! And I don't want to wrestle with anemia again.

That was a struggle about five years ago (during the height of perimenopause )

Well, it would explain the fatigue I've been feeling and gives me an opportunity to do something about it.

Sashenka, I'm going to share your suggestion with my daughter and also give the orange/bananas a try in a few weeks. Thanks for posting about that.

In spite of my "weakened state," I did 2 miles of walking and some ab work. This is becoming a daily thing I want to keep increasing my activities and hope to find some variations. After my body gets stronger, I think I'd like to try rollerblading. Ilene, do you have different workouts for different days of the week? I like that, sort of like following a varied food plan.

    Take care everyone.

    Jean
ps: Dizzi, good on you for jumping back in - just keep moving!
  • I did not go biking today. Between my nap and supper it was pouring rain. I did however do arms and shoulders.
  • Hi Jean . Yes I vary my workouts from day to day week to week. When I do weights at the gym I work only one body part, like today was back and biceps, yesterday was chest, shoulders and triceps, the day before was legs... Some days I will do cardio and weight train, other times no cardio just weights. I either run or bike, lately I've added swimming and I may up my swimming to two times/week.

Today I also ran with the running group of women, it was fun and the time flew by. They are on a 4:1 and I enjoyed it. Nice bunch of ladies and it ended up that I knew a few of them. What was fun was that these women are getting to be known around town and cars honk their horns and wave....
  • Ilene & Sashenka - Thanks for the info about the charlie horses. I have never heard of such a condition, I must be lucky !!

I did 25 mins stationary bike, 10 mins row, LBW and 5 mins stretch today

Now i 'm off with my daughter for some shopping.

  • Vanity gives me charlie horses! I have this fascination with my calves lately. I was showing them to my husband the other day and >>>knot<<<< it felt awful!
Oh I undid it by putting weight on and relaxing it.
  • Went to the gym this morning, only for the second time this week.. I slacked off and ate alot of junk. I was at a dessert party last night, and after all was said and done and we had eaten a lot of chocolate cake and such, 4 of us decided we had better go to the gym this morning...lol so we did. We are planning to go 3 times together this week, I know I need to go regardless if they do or not.
  • Stephanie,

Yesterday was yesterday. Today, you got back to the gym - good on you!

I absolutely agree - whether your friends show up at the gym this week or decide to bale, you've got a goal now.

Looking forward to seeing your posts this week about your gym time.

    Take care,
    Jean
