Hi everyone! I didn't get to sign on yesterday with a report, but I got up yesterday again and worked out. I did a Yoga routine (my instructor gave us handouts of every routine she ever did with us). Then I did some arm weights and situps. Before supper I took a 20 minute walk. We had pizza for supper last night and I ate 3 pieces when I should have only had 2. But I had banked some calories from earlier in the week so I'm still ahead of the game. I weighed this morning and I've lost 3 pounds this week. I didn't get myself up to exercize today and I am going to be scrapbooking tonight. But tomorrow I will be going to Yoga class at 8:30 am.

Nettie: I know what you mean about tapes too. Did you ever notice how after you've done the same tape several times, little things like they way they say "Whew" so gleefully or just an expression they make start to drive you crazy? I used to tape some exercize shows off of ESPN just to get some variety. My husband did the stay at home Dad thing when our daughter was little from 12 weeks to 2 years. He was going to school at night to change careers. It was nice coming home to cooked meals.

Copperblu: Sounds like you are keeping a good attitude. You'll get back in the swing once you are used to your summer schedule. How do you like Pilates? I saw something about it on TV once but don't know much about it. Do you need any special equipment?

Marvin: I hope you enjoy your yoga class when it starts. Do you know what kind of yoga it is?

Well, I have to go make supper - something healthy because I stopped at Taco Bell for lunch. I made a good choice but it was still more calories and WW points than I would normally eat at lunch.

Well, today was a good day. I went to my Yoga class and did an hour of Yoga. I felt great when I was done. Then this afternoon it was finally warm enough to swim in our pool again, so I got about 75 minutes of moderate exercize in the pool (swimming & water aerobics).

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Default Got room for 1 more?

I haven't been to the 3FC sight for a year or two now...tsk tsk tsk! I zeroed right in on the exercise threads and found this one...just what I'm looking for! Got room for 1 more?

I also think that the intro is a good idea...it was very helpful to me. I liked the references to staying hydrated and eathing healthy. It gave me a good sense of the underlying attitude and goals on the thread.

I don't exercise every day, but that is my goal. I racewalked for over a year (not nonstop! LOL) and am just working on getting back into it...starting from ground zero. :/

I do need to start slow and work up, so I'm open for suggestions...how should I go about working into daily racewalking from 3 short walks a week? How would you prioritize intensity/distance/frequency?

You know, I'm so glad I found this thread...I've really enjoyed your posts...I hope to find and give a lot of help.

Default Good Morning!

Wow, they sure do work hard to keep this board up to date. Does anyone know where they put the link to the subscribed threads? Maybe they just overlooked it and will put it back later. Now that the spell checker is gone, you all will find out what a terrible speller I am.

I hope everyone had an on-plan weekend. As usual, I did not do any formal exercising Sat or Sun. I did do all my exercises last week as I had planned and am very proud of myself. My MIL gave me her stationary bike this weekend. I am going to use it in place of my tape a few nights. It is the type with the fan on the front. So it blows air the harder you ride. This is my plan for this week:

Monday: Bike 30 minutes (maybe too much of a lofty goal since its the 1st time)
Tuesday: RS Tape w/ weights/Quick ABS Tape (30 min)
Wednesday: Bike 30 min.
Thursday: RS Tape w/ weights/Quick ABS Tape (30 min)
Friday: Bike 30 min.

I plan on buying a yoga tape and mat next week. I have always been pretty flexable (was still able to touch my toes at 9 months pregnant and 265 pounds) but I think it would problably help with breathing and working my muscles.

Racewalker: Welcome! Unfortunately, I know nothing about race walking. The only thing I know is you are on the right track by starting off slow. You don't want to burn yourself out right off and then quit.

Stamper: The yogo sounds like fun. As I said before, I am going to try it out next week. I hope I do the moves right without an instructor there. I'm sure there are a lot of good tapes with proper instruction. The pool sounds great. We have one in our neighborhood, but unless I am going before the sun comes up, I would be bumping into a lot of kids. Really doesn't excite me much to put on a bathing suit right now anyway.

copperblu: Happy Birthday!! How is your summer work schedule going? Have you been able to figure out a schedule you can work around. Finding time to exercise is hard somedays, but I know you feel great when you do.

Marvin: How was the lasagna? Sounded great. I think that will be my next treat. I try to plan them in advance so I don't blow a treat on an impulse I really didn't want.

Well, there is my rambling message for the day. Hope everyone has a successful day! Oh, by the way, I lost another two big fat pounds. I like this slower pace, better than when I was lossing really fast.
