Default Question about my exercise routine...help!

Ok I started exercising again yesterday, FINALLY! After being in a rut since february..didn't get to exercise today as planned tho b/c I had a bad migraine! *cries*

Anyway I was wondering if this is ok for exercise:

Cardio 3-4 times a week for a minimum of 30 minutes (things like tae-bo, aerobics etc. Done with at home videos)

Strength training (full body - lower, upper and abs) twice a week, the routine I'm doing from a DVD that I have is 25 minutes long and works the entire body. Starting with 3lb weights, I will work my way up as I progress.

Also walks/bike rides whenever I can (I'd like to go everyday, but I know that won't happen so I'll say 3-4 times a week as well)

Is this ok to start off with??

Hey Trixie WELCOME to 3FC!!

I love to see people starting an new exercise plan. I'm exercise junkie now and I want everyone to be one too ... Your exercise plan seems really good to start, but after 4-6 weeks if you don't feel that you are doing any progress step things up a bit, add more weights, add more intensity to your cardio workouts...

Is your food plan good? Are you following anything specific? Just make sure you keep it ''clean'' as I like to say, which means as unprocessed as possible with lean proteins, like chicken, eggwhites, lean meats and fish, good carbs like oatmeal, brown rice, sweet potatoes,LOTS of vegetables, a couple of fruits/day instead of sweets. Also drink plenty of water ...

I think that's it ....

Oh, no, forgot something, make sure the exercise you do is fun, because it IS for a LIFETIME!!

You take care !!

Thanks Ilene! I planned on upping my routine after a few weeks, more and longer cardio, heavier weights etc. I've read that if you don't change up your routine your body will get used to it and get bored and then you won't get as good results!

unfortunatly I've only been able to work out once, which was last week, BUT I did go for a few walks and a bike ride, I'm hoping to start getting more workouts in.

As for diet, I'm doing weight watchers and Im trying to watch what I eat, and eat healthier or "clean" lol more fruits and veggies, less sugar and fast food, whole grains etc.

Wow, that does seem like a lot for a beginner
I alternate between tae bo and targeted area (more low energy) three times a week, when I'm a good girl
