This week I have only got to Curves twice. I don't know what my problem is. I had the time but just didn't want to go. I'm hoping to go this morning.

Good luck to all!

luvallama 05-16-2005 11:14 PM

Hi all!

I'm new here to the site- I've been reading up. I also belong to Curves and following the WW flex program, and have lost almost 40 lbs. I go to Curves 3 times a week and bounce on a mini trampoline the other days I don't go, but I'm thinking about going to Curves 5 days now since so many do go more than the 3 times. Hope to get to know everyone! :)

didi123 05-17-2005 01:01 PM

Hi Luvallma...welcome...
Hi Everyone..
Well, I didn't get to Curves last night, but will go tonight. I can honestly say I missed not going last night, but I had to run home and when I get home, the last thing I want to do is go out again.
I broke down and bought cigs...:-(...my husband doesn't know it...I was dying for one this am on my way to work...I had a couple and when I got into work, I immediately put the nic patch on...I have a doc appt this afternoon and I'm going to talk to her about using Zyban too...I've been eating out of control and I think that's why I craved and caved.....Thank God I'm going to Curves....hopefully I won't put on as much weight as I would have without going...I also think I'm a compulsive overeater and I will talk to my doctor about getting some help..
In the meantime..I'm so happy to be able to come here and vent, talk, and get my feelings out, even if I'm just talking to myself..lol...
Well....hope everyone is doing great....I'm going to continue coming here and getting support from you guys..hopefully one day I'll be the one giving support..
Ciao for now..
Di

Hang in there DIDI I heard Zyban is really good. Keep a positive attitude and it will all fall into place. I did Curves this morning and still doing my other stuff down a pound at least moving in the right direction lol.

Happy work out ladies.

Tee625 05-19-2005 04:59 PM

Hello ladies,

I'm new to 3FC and I've just recently joined Curves on 4/20. I'm also using the low-carb diet in the book which I just started yesterday. I'm having a hard time motivating myself to go 3 days a week, I need a work out buddy badly to help keep me motivated. I'm trying to lose about 30 - 35lbs.

almostheaven 05-19-2005 05:56 PM

I've been managing getting in my 3 Curves sessions a week. However, against their advice, I'm putting in 4 this week. I never follow anyone's advice. LOL Just wasn't up to exercising at home, had to get out. Went Monday, yesterday, today, and will go again tomorrow.

momX3 05-19-2005 07:47 PM

I go Monday, Wednesday & Friday and do treadmill or a tape another 3 days. I give myself 1 day off. I also joined on April 20th. Are you doing your first weigh/measure tomorrow?

lateralus98 05-20-2005 12:15 AM

Hello fellow Curvers! I have my first w & m Saturday. I'm excited to see the weight loss results so far! I've gotten in at least 4-6x a week. So that's pretty good. I can already feel the difference when I go up stairs. I'm not out of breath by the time I get to the top!!! WOO HOO!

Keep on Curvin' everyone!

Tee625 05-20-2005 11:23 AM

I was suppose to be doing it but I've only been to Curves once this week. I would like to go on Saturdays but I work so hopefully I can motivate myself to go at 7am before work...we'll see.

didi123 05-20-2005 03:33 PM

Hi Guys...
Sorry I haven't been posting..been so busy in work..
Going to Curves tonight...went Tues & Wed...
Smoked a couple of cigs a day this week..auughhh..back to square one....got wellbutrin from my doc...hopefully that will help along with the patch which I've not been wearing since I've been smoking...
eating like crazy...oh well.....tomorrow is another day...
At least I'm working out....
Sounds like everyone else is doing okay...

Tee625 05-21-2005 02:42 PM

Hello Ladies...

I'm a little frustrated today, I broke down last night and ate potato chips. I've been trying to get through this Phase one on the Curves low-carb diet and it's killing me. I can deal with giving up bread and pasta but the sugar is what's killing me. Anyone know of any good low carb snacks I can buy. I don't really have the time to bake or prepare desserts.

ellenuw 05-22-2005 08:40 AM

Sorry to jump in, but I have a big mouth and have not learned how to hold back, especially when I see women sabatoging themselves. Yes, Didi and Tee, I am talking to you - and all the others, too. Ladies, you have not "FAILED", you have "SLIPPED" and for every slip you regain your balance and move forward. It is not the end, but a lesson along the way. Something in your plan did not work for you. Was it a momentary thing or does this piece of the plan not work for you? Adjust, update your plan, regain your balance and move forward. It is not YOU that failed but something in the plan that FAILED YOU. No one says every person must follow one specific plan to the letter. We all have minds and instinct to learn what WE need. I know you can do it.

Oh, and Didi - monitor yourself on the Zyban. I had a horrible psychological reaction to it and needed to stop (pretty much immediately - PM me if you want more details). Again, we all react differently to different programs. The lozenges worked for me. You will find what works for you. And, just as important, you will find what doesn't.

ItstimeforME 05-22-2005 05:52 PM

Very well said, I needed to hear that right NOW!!! Thanks I need to refocuse BAD!!!!

didi123 05-23-2005 03:50 PM

Hi Everyone..
Thank you all for your support.....I really appreciate it...
Laterlus....WOW...congrats on the losses...that's so great...keep up the good work
MomX3....you too!! Congrats on the losses....
Tee...just as Ellenuw said....we've slipped....let's dust ourselves off and start anew...
Ellenuw....thanks so much...I really needed to hear that...I'll also let you know if I'm having some weird episodes with the Wellbutrin (Zyban equiv.)
Well Ladies...I'm going to Curves tonight..
I won't be around til next week sometime...I'm having surgery tomorrow for Varicose Veins....so I'll be out of work til then....I'll let you know how everything goes..
Keep up the great work Ladies...we can/WILL do it..

Di

ellenuw 05-23-2005 03:59 PM

CutieCourt 06-02-2005 05:35 PM

Hello Everyone! Im sooo glad to see that this thread is started again. I got so frustrated with posting to myself and i came back to 3FC to see how everyone was doing! My first month at curves was awesome I lost 10 pounds and started going to the weight loss class. I was a top loser my first month! I was so excited! I was a top loser and a mugger..hehe. Ive been having personal issues and cut back on everything which has hurt me even more and half of the weight that i lost i ended up gaining. Its just so frustrating. Its not curves, its me. I love curves and im glad i came back because this thread even though its not updated as much as it could be, has inspired me to get back on track. Im doing the summer challenge which is 15 weeks of working out 3 times a week. Its been hard of me bc ive been putting curves last on my list when it should be first.
Ive realized the only person that ive been hurting is myself. Thanks ladies for the inpiration ive been needing.
-Court

ItstimeforME 06-02-2005 06:09 PM

Good for you and keep that positive attitude.

didi123 06-03-2005 12:31 PM

Hi Everyone...I'm back...!!
I had varicose vein surgery on the 24th of May...just back to work this week and I've been swamped so I haven't had a chance to say hello. Surgery went well I think...we'll see. I haven't been able to go to Curves since May 20th due to the surgery and I'm missing it like crazy...I think I'll be able to go back on Monday (fingers crossed)...
Ok...so yes, I've been smoking again....not doing the Wellbutrin...or the patch...having a cig here and there.....I've gained so much weight from not smoking and eating out of control....I think I'll just continue on like this til I can get the weight thing under control again along with going to Curves.
Sounds like everyone is doing great...
Court...welcome back and keep coming.....and going to Curves...
How are you all doing?

Di

didi123 06-03-2005 12:33 PM

Mercee 06-03-2005 01:15 PM

Glad your surgery went well Didi. Just get back on the wagon and keep going. I just started back at Curves. I was out of town for 1 week boy did I miss it. I went back and I feel great.

almostheaven 06-03-2005 05:35 PM

I've had my first bad experience with Curves. After taking my money and allowing me to exercise there for nearly a month, they THEN decide that I have to have a doctor's permit before I can come back in. Well I couldn't reach my doctor for two days, and he's nitpicky about putting his name on anything. Even to get him to say I'm not allowed to exercise so that they won't charge me right now. He stresses exercise but just doesn't wanna sign anything. At this point, and due to other reasons I'm unhappy with him, I'm ready for a new OBGYN, but at nearly 5-1/2 months along, I really don't wanna change this far into it.

What I did was contact another local Curves. They won't restrict me from coming, but only ask that I don't use 3 pieces of equipment designed for the abs. That works for me. I'll still be getting my exercise. So I'm transferring my membership and will be able to start back tomorrow.

ItstimeforME 06-03-2005 05:50 PM

I have done curves only once this week IM so hooked on going to they gym now. Today I did the treadmill for 30 min and I usually do about 3.7 mph with inclines and today was the first day I actually jogged for 10min straight I have never done that before I was so happy. I have step in the morning I may have to hit curves after. This summer with kids home is hard to get there bc they don't allow children.

CutieCourt 06-06-2005 11:47 PM

Gosh..

Hey ladies! I completed another week of doing my 3x workouts. I should actually start going more again, bc thats when i lost the most weight. Im just frustrated with life. I dunno. Anyway. Our summer challenge is to workout 3x a week for 15 weeks straight. If you dont then you get a strike by your name and when you have 3 strikes your out. If you finish without being out then you win a curves shirt of your choice. Ive done is 3 weeks so far but its gotten so hard. Its like I had to go m-f or i didnt feel complete and now its like..i struggle to get out of the door. I dunno. I dont want to make excuses bc i know its just me and im using things to not go. Im SO frustrated with life. Anyway. Im still getting my 3 workouts in but i havent been watching what im eating. I may go to the weightloss class again, i felt like when i did that i was inspired to keep it up every week. Any advice? lol. Have a nice week ladies! Byee

Interesting tidbit one of the employees at Curves told me today. She gave me a copy of the current Curves magazine and was telling me about a story featured in the last issue about a gal who was very thin who went to Curves not to lose weight of course, but for the strength training. She was attacked one day and was able to fend off her attacker. She stated that she didn't think she could have managed that if she hadn't been going to Curves, because she'd previously had no strength or muscle.

didi123 06-09-2005 08:37 AM

Hi Everyone..
Sorry I haven't been posting lately...busy at work (can you imagine??)
Anyway...I've started back to Curves this week M & W so far since my vein surgery..
Boy...it's harder this time since I had a 2 week leave from it....
Cutie....I know what you mean about trying to get back in the swing of things..my eating has also been terrible lately..well, actually for a while now..I got married in October and have since gained 28 lbs!!!!! I can attibute 10 lbs of that for the 3 weeks or so that I quit smoking, but now I'm back on the butts a bit and it's preventing me from attacking the vending machine...I think I'll do baby steps and keep the smoking to a minimum..concentrate on working out and get the eating under control. We might be having a WW meeting at work, waiting to hear if they are going ahead with it...
I do believe that getting involved in a weightloss program definately gets you motivated. I do suggest you go back to what worked for you in the past...
My Curves put a beach scene on the wall which believe it or not is a motivator in itself...
Good luck everyone...keep posting and I'll try to work less...lol

Man this summer schedule is killing me. I went from going to curves 6 days to down to like 2 or 3 only bc all my workouts have to be in the evening and Im doing some step classes got to get to a steady 3 days there. Im STILL plateauing going on 2 months now. I need to lay off those Cheez its after 6 pm I guess lol. Happy workouts today.

Cacey 06-14-2005 01:00 AM

I've been going to Curves for almost 2 months now and I love it! It's definitely different from the regular gym i used to work out in for 1 1/2 hrs or more 3 days a week. I go 3-4 times a week and go 3-4 times around each time. The scale has not been in my favor lately but the inches have started coming off. If i could get my eating back on track I would do so much better. My will power stinks!

ItstimeforME 06-14-2005 07:01 AM

Hey ya'll I think Im going to get back into curves more during the week than I have been in the last 2months. The scale is moving like a snail. My friend who works there suggest I lay off so much gym time with step I was doing 3 days a week I need to get the inches down and need to tone. SO Im heading back to 3 or 4 days a week. I was slacking off to only 2. Happy workout day!!!

OperationSWC 06-14-2005 12:45 PM

I've tried Curves several times. Last summer, and then I tried again this summer. It never worked for me. But I'm glad it works for other people, cuz I know it does. Everyone's different when it comes to how you lose weight, I guess. :)

PDXPam 06-16-2005 01:25 PM

I'm new here and I have been going to Curves for about a month now. I am also restarting the South Beach Diet which worked really well for me last year, I lost about 35 pounds. Then my dad died and I got off track and gained part of the weight back. Now I want to get losing again before I gain it all back. I look forward to meeting people on these boards. I actually found it from the ticker link from someone's sig on the South Beach Diet.com boards.

Curves2005 06-17-2005 03:52 PM

Hi I am also new here just joined Curves Monday June 13 been to 3 workouts and going tonight.. I love it! I am trying to go at least 4 times a week. I am also on SB Diet for 3 weeks and though I havent weighed yet I can tell I have lost weight especially in my stomach. I just wanted to say HI!! I wish everyone GOOD LUCK!!

sissie44 06-18-2005 01:27 PM

Hello everyone,
I joined curves on june 3rd and have been going 5 times a week and I really like it! It is so different than the Gym I use to go too. and being just for women really helps!
I am also doing the Atkins way of life now and started that on may 15th.
I was really shocked when at curves they weighed me in at 280.5 :( and a body fat of 48.7!! OH MY LORD I had no idea I had gotten so bad. so now I am looking forward to july 3rd to see if anything has changed. sure do hope so!!

ItstimeforME 06-21-2005 07:41 AM

Hello fellow Curve buddies. Well Im back to working out there more often again. I still don't like the idea of having to wait till the evening bc of the summer but oh well fall will return and so will school for the kids. Welcome new members I hope you enjoy your workouts and remember each day is a new day and one step closer to your goal. Happy work out today!!!

lateralus98 06-30-2005 10:27 PM

Hello Curvers! I haven't been around for awhile, but I wanted to bump our post up. I have been going at LEAST 2-3x a week, because I have been so budy with school I just have not had time for it. I weighed in yesterday, here are my stats:

Height: 5'2''
Age: 17
Weight: -4lbs (3 lbs of fat)
Bust: +.75 in
Waist: no change
Abdomen: -.25 in
Hips: -.75
Thighs: -2.00 in
Calves: -1.00 in
Arms: -.75 in
Body Fat %: -1.00%

I'm pretty happy. I'm sure you all are doing great!! Let me know! ;) See ya!

almostheaven 07-01-2005 06:43 PM

Now I'm bummed. When I joined May 4, my arms were 11.5" and my thighs 24.25". I just had them measured today, of course I forgot to have it done before the workout, but figured not that big of a deal. Just wanting to be sure all the pregnancy weight is going front and not all over. And I'm hoping it was because I transferred to another location and maybe she just doesn't measure the same as the previous place. I dunno. But my arms are 12.5" and my thighs 25.25"...1 inch on each. Then again, maybe it was Olive Garden's chocolate lasagna yesterday. Ya think?

figure14 07-02-2005 09:18 PM

Hey! Just found out about this website. I jined Curves 3 weeks ago and absolutely love it! I am a bit frustrated as I have been working out everyday and have only lost 5 lbs. so far. But, I'm going to keep with it, if nothing else I feel like I've done something everyday.

ItstimeforME 07-10-2005 04:24 PM
