Wink Answer to your question.

I get that in by pure non-stop going!!! I have two toddlers here all day, one Pre-schooler who goes half a day, two school age girls, K and 1st grade. About 16 loads of laundry a week, grocery shopping for seven people each week (shopping and carrying in all the bags, putting it all away takes time and steps too!), cook every day/evening (I'll pace around while watching the food cook) and wash all the dishes by hand bc I hate the way they turn out from the dishwasher (which doesn't add steps but is time consuming.. uggh! ). Lots of picking up what they drag out, over and over all day. Lots of chasing them (in fun and in seriousness ). I pace around them while helping them do homework, etc. I sweep sometimes 3 times a day bc of the food dropped when they all eat. (If I don't, it gets stomped into the carpet in the next room! ) I get up fairly early and go to bed later than I'd like. If I can't go out and walk outside, I walk in place while I watch TV or watch them play. I walk around my kitchen table while I'm folding.. fold, stack, grab, fold, stack.. while I go round and round. I'm sure it looks funny.. but I'm moving for an hour there at a time, then I walk at least an hour while watching TV at night.. and maybe another half hour during the day watching TV. I dance to my radio while they play.

I jog thru my house in a circle at night when they are asleep.. I start in the office, jog thru the toyroom (after it's picked up of course or I'd be dead now from falling on toys ), thru the foyer, thru the living room, through the dining room, thru the kitchen, back thru the office. On the mornings like Friday, Sat and Sun, when my husband is here.. I leave at 7am to take the two girls to school, then I go to the park and walk at least 45 mins to 2 hours to start the day. Then it all starts over! I've never had a "job" that was so active in my whole life!! If I can just keep high fat foods outta my mouth, I'll hit my goal just outta doing what I have to do and a little bit more.

I log my steps on AOM (Americaonthemove.org). Started that in Feb. Did about 10,000 steps a day for the first two weeks, then went up to 15,000 steps a day for the last two weeks, trying to rev up my metabolism more. When I had a desk job, I couldn't have gotten in as many miles. But when I did manage a dual-physician office a few years ago, I stayed in the office for lunch, ate a can of soup and water, and walked 1.5 miles up and down the hallways. LOL. (Lost 30 lbs. that way for my high school reunion, but after the reunion was a blast, yep, gained it all back and more.. it sucks) So now since I kept having to walk an extra hour at night to hit my 15K a day, I am doing 12,000+ miles a day for the first two weeks this month. I'll see how that feels.

I think you have to get creative nowadays to get any physical activity in! It's sorta sad, we all wanted things to be easier, hence the creation of the automatic washing machine, cars, dishwashers, etc. But what has that done? It's made it where we have more time to do things that aren't as active. And we are paying for it now. Ah well, things'll change.

Hey ladies, sounds like you're all off to a killer start this month! Good on ya! Keep up the fantastic work!

Exceeded February's goal of 25mi, so that's good. Just need to get water intake up. I hear ya, Selina, about not being thirsty. Blargh.

March miles thus far = 8. Plus will get in another 4 this afternoon. It's G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S today... supposed to hit somewhere in the 17C range, so yeah, SPRING is almost here! *Does a happy dance* DH has a long weekend from work so we'll be out enjoying this wonderful bright, sunny weather! And I'm hoping to get to the gym at some point... tomorrow, maybe! And perhaps Sunday we'll hit the pool!

So yup, busy busy busy.

Anyways ladies, best wishes for the weekend ahead! Take GREAT care of yourselves, stay happy and healthy and I'll type ya all later!

Just a quick post as I have to get ready for tonight -- I am finally going out with my girls! It's been over a year because of the pregnancy! So woo hoo!! Husband is staying home to take care of the baby -- his first time alone for a long period of time. I think he can handle it. Anyway just wanted to post that I finally got some walking in today! I did 4 miles!! So only 27 left for the month -- of course we want to go over that though.

Great job everyone!! Have a productive weekend, I'm sure I'll pop back in at some point.

I'm excited this morning - Last week I upped my armour to 3 grains a day - 2 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon, bec we are mainly treating my symptoms and my hair is still failing out and a few things like that. I haven't lost any weight since Nov 20 when I finally got that dang scale down to 196 (13 lbs lost since treating my thyroid) and basically I've been fighting the same 2 lbs back and forth thru the holidays - and got it back down to the 196 the end of January (have you noticed it takes me forever to lose a pound) Well ......... this morning I got on the scale and it said 195!!!!!!! I have finally lost another pound - one solid pound - got on and off the scale several times just to make sure.

So that's 14 lbs down in a little over a year. Slow and steady wins the race - right?

I will fix my signature when I have a minute.

I am cleaning house today and it will take all day - that is for sure - so that's my exercise for today!

hope everyone has a great day!

hugs,
cathy

Smile Hey there!

Just wanted to say hello. I walked 2 hours this a.m., and it was sorta drizzling too. Now that is some determination for ya. LOL. I only get the chance to go to the track when my husband is home, two days a week or so, in the mornings. So a little rain wasn't gonna scare me off. I got in about 6 miles. So that was good. So far this month I have done what I wanted to.. at least 12,000 steps a day. It'll total less than last month, but that was just too much I believe. So this is still better than the recommended 10,000 a day.

You all are doing very well I see!! I love it! Keep it up!!

Sherri, ty. I do try to soak in the tub when I get the chance and I go alone sometimes to have coffee and browse books cuz I love bookstores!

Kendrea, I love seeing your little one on here! How cute! Love that you're using your pedometer! Hope you had great fun with your girls too!

WTG, Cathy! You're on a roll! You'll surpass ur goal I bet! Yay on the 14 lbs. too! Also, I love Prevention. I just subscribed to it. I also got the Weight Watcher mag too! Love it.

Mel! I love that spring is almost here too! Yay! All the cute pastel outfits on racks now. Just teasing me bc I don't wanna buy anything bc they get loose in two months! I've set up my machine, and I'm actually sewing up my clothes this week. Just did two pairs of jeans. I'm gonna make these work til at least summer. I might get one new outfit per size but that will be it! Oh and I'm doing better with my water since now I ONLY drink water.. which isn't so fun but is better for me so hey, there are worse things that could happen to me.

Take care everyone and have a great week~ Hugs!

Hi everyone,
I just stumbled on this thread and I would love to join you.
I usually walk on the treadmill at work during the week. This is just the thing I need to up the time on that, I'm usually only it for about 30-35 minutes.
My goal starting Monday for the month of March is 20 miles.

Hi everyone!
I have been MIA because we have had guest in town.

Selena - Running after children is certainly good exercise and good for you for getting in the extra steps. Thanks for the moivation!

Hi Bubbins - Welcome!

Cathy - Congrats on loosing the pound! That is great!

Kendrea - I hope you had a great time at your girls night out!

Mel - you are off to a great start this month - way to go!!

Sherrita - I hope you are doing well!

I tried to wear my pedometer these past few days but my littel neice was visting and once she spied it, she wanted it for the day so, while I have been active, I am starting fresh today in terms of counting. So, I am off and moving!

Selina! - congrats you are doing great! walkin in the rain ought to count for double don't ya think I also subscribe to the Weight Watcher magazine. Sounds like you and I like the same health magazines!

Welcome Tasha - it's great to have ya here. I do some walking on a treadmill too. If I don't get in my walking in the mornings before work, then I go to a near by church gym during lunch and walk their track or on a treadmill.

Hey Macon - I tried to wear my pedometer on Saturday when I cleaned house for 6 hours. I figure I probably walk about 2 miles doing that, but I want to wear my pedometer to know for sure, but the dang thing gets in my way or catches or something and I end up just taking it off so I can clean like I need to. great to see ya!

I got up early and did a 30 minute 2 miles WATP Express with 2 lb weights.
March Miles = 14

hope everyone has a blessed day!

hugs,
cathy
