HI guys! Well, I just started working full time (was only part-time before). Last week was SOOO stressful! Right now I'm totally exhausted, my head has been killing me, and I just all around don't feel well. Should I push myself to work out? Or should I wait until I'm feeling better? I'm just nervous that if I do force myself to work out, that I'll feel worse, or worse yet, get really sick. I don't know what to do! Help!
I think I would take some relaxing walks after dinner a couple times a week..or get outside and do something fun on the weekends. Considering how you feel..I think that you may want to NOT workout for a bit - sounds like instead of helping it may stress you even more.
Siren Dahlink! haven't seen you in a Dawgs age ! Glad the job turned into a full time gig for ya... and NO, you should not work out as hard as you use to till your body/mind get into sync with your new life style..Once you get use to full time, and a new schedule for the other stuff in your life you will regain the energy and maybe find a new time table to work out..
just glad to see you back luv! (PS..see I moved to Nerth Caroliner!)
Hiya Schatzi! How do you like in in North Carolina? Yes, my job finally did go full time! Yay! I don't think that it's so much the time schedule as it is the stress I went through last week. Thursday and Friday, the girl who usually works out in the scalehouse and weighs all the garbage trucks as they come in, was on vacation. So, I was out there on my feet for nine hours straight, both days, with no break ( I didn't mind it so much). Then, I had to work on Saturday and the entire computer system here crashed and I was the only one here!! Then I had to go in on Monday as well. So, I had like NO weekend. So, I think that's why I'm so exhausted. I just don't want to gain back any weight from not exercising. I was working out when I got home from work, but I've just been dead tired since Thursday. Haven't worked out since Thursday either. Last night I finally said "forget it" and hit the bed at 9:00!
So, I just wanted to make sure that I was doing the correct thing. I don't want to send my body into COMPLETE exhaustion and I do tend to get sick when I'm over-tired. Blah!
Well, it's only been the past week. I'm not eating any differently than usual, and I know I'm getting enough protein, veggies, and vitamins. I really do think it's the change in schedule and the stress from last week.
I want to work out but I'm just so exhausted and I don't want to make myself sick!
I'm on South Beach, and had to go through a sugar withdrawl week ... at anyrate, that was somewhat of a shock to my system..I got tired, cranky, headachy for the first week.. so I just stopped exercising till I felt better and in sync again.. I did try to exercise but it put me over the edge! Siren, I doubt seriously as far you've come and as dedicated you have been that giving your self time to get use to this new schedule that you'll not get back to your regular routine!!... I do agree that once you feel perkier take a wee walk about to start back on your exercise schedule. And YAY for you that 1) you have a full time job again! and 2) seems like you are Really liking it!
I've been here 3 weeks now Siren..and I'm liken the slower pace, less people, and the folks here are too Dang nice!!! heh heh just wanna slap em! (ooh baaad joisy girl baad)
Sounds like you know the cause of your energy lag and I think it's perfectly understandable to be tired!! When our bodies are too tired we need to rest (as you well said, otherwise we get sick) and I think sometimes we all push to be superwomen and do it ALL! Just like part of weight loss for most of us is learning to eat when we're hungry and stop when we're full, we need to rest when we are too tired. Otherwise we get injured or sick.
Also a thought to consider, I've been reading recent research that looks at the importance of adequate sleep for weight loss (or maintenance). So, don't think about it as not working out, think of it as fulfilling another one of your body's needs.
Congratulations on the job and good luck adapting and resting up!
